  1. Been trying to capture the size of this tree for a while now, enough to say it always seems a LOT bigger than it looks in the photos.

    Bench help

OK time for an update Finally got round to finishing this bench, in the end I got some 220mm Spax washer head screws, great things and they tightened down really well I'll just have to keep an eye on them to make sure they don't slacken over time. Fairly pleased with how this came out, but with that view I don't think many people will be looking at the bench. Thanks again for all the advice Much appreciated
  5. Thanks for the forecast, was good to have your second post just to confirm I understood the first post properly
  6. You got to feel sorry for the bloke who's rick burnt down but it gave you some great atmospheric shots Love the 4th one
  7. That sucks mate, I'll bring a sponge with me when I come down:001_tt2: Hope you get it sorted soon, for some reason I thought your yard was up the top not down on the moor
  8. Mull's great today Silky, sunny and frosty and if you think you had a great sunrise you should have seen ours! Not a big fan of Iona myself, very busy by Mull standards (really quiet by most others) Moved up here from Somerset 3 1/2 years ago and it's been wonderful but things are a bit uncertain at the moment as we have to move out of our house in 2 weeks (landlords want it for a holiday let ) and have no where to go so are having to go into temporary accommodation until March, just hope we find something else by then! Anyway keep smiling!
  9. Love the mirror photo, you've certainly got an eye for an unusual photo Keep em coming, I was having withdrawal this week cos you hadn't posted much. PS you'll wear that jacket out if you keep using it
  10. I'd be bidding on that towable one if I wasn't 500 miles away
  11. I reckon it just got scarred by that storm you had recently. BTW How's the clear up going?
  12. This could be fun!
  13. My mate's got the 3 point linkage version of this, he's got it coupled to a massey 35 engine. Can't fault it, well built, fast and never let him down. Could do with slightly bigger racks to catch the logs after splitting but that's an easy job.
  14. That's not good, best of luck and keep us informed.
  15. Some neat joints there, How deep did you manage to get the telegraph poles?
  16. Site sponsors Skyland do them about the same price Outdoors Cooking Equipment - Campaign Cooking Gear & Sets Ordered some stuff from them the other day, good service.
  17. Hi Mate That really sucks, nothing like letting someone get on in life. As John says it's probably a small minded idiot, I bet they've had a successful career and are now retired! Nowt better to do. Keep us informed with how this goes, thinking about coming down some time next year so will give you a ring if I do.
  18. I was in Somerset until 3 years ago and wouldn't have got £11/hour for general farm work more like £8 so I think you're doing ok

  22. A sub £20 pair of wellies does everything on your list
  23. As other have said contact spudulike, really recommend him for advice or fixing. His what's on your bench thread is here http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/chainsaws/33857-whats-your-bench-today.html Loads of really good info in it but on do need a couple of hours to read it all now:001_tt2:
