  1. Had the little dcs230 and 3401, both ok but slightly underwhelming. I dont think they do a top handle that compares to a 200. The battery ones are pretty good. I have the duc254 and duc3501. Probably the stihl battery top handle saw has a edge, but not by a long way. Especially not on price. Bear in mind you will need an arsnal of batteries, like 4 to 6 depending what your up to. 5ah at 18v isnt the same as 5ah at 36v. I wouldnt get the double battery saw with the toolless tensioner looks pretty micky mouse.
  2. Class day helping prune ( hammer) by brother in laws olive trees and harvesting olives ( for oil, not eaters.) . We did about 50kgs of olives and they cut them back pretty hard here in greece every 3 or 4 years. Seems sinful to cut these lovely old trees back like this, but they seem to love it and its how they been doing it for years. Crazy little toy like rakes for the olives, work real well though. Had the pleasure of using my old cresto harness i gave my brother in law years ago, some old caving rope and a couple screw gate steelies, and an echo 2600, shorts and safety sunnies.
  3. Email sent. Be keen to know rough price and condition
  4. Why are they so hard to set up?
  5. Ah yes, teach me to not thoroughly read all the thread
  6. Id check the baffle is the correct one and seated properly. If it smoked regardless, personally i would remove the baffle and either cut a inch or two off or replace with a smaller piece if metal and see if this makes a difference. Have you fitted a new cowl?
  7. Try it with normal karabiner, ive always used a normal, doesnt seem to be a bother
  8. Looks a belter! Bet it tasted good!
  9. Get well soon! Howd you break it?

    Blower died

Prolly worth checking the kill switch and wires. If it sounds like its switching itself off, it might be !
  13. Aye was wondering about this also. Didnt hear about it until.it was for sale. And the 151t!
  14. Get the makita. Will be more reliable than hutzl. Tbh is prefer used main brand than hutzl for reliability and longevity
  15. Post some pics of your bar and chain. My bet is the bar needs a fettle or there is a issue with the chain
  16. Also have a diy one like you describe. The haas is better, not bulky and has more spring so you can step furthur and capture more progress with each step.
  17. Made a giant wolf delek for the local folk festival with a couple of mates. 3rd year we have made a burning wolf sculpture. 2 days for 3 people and a lot of slab wood and screws. Delek part of it was made i solidarity with local sci fi museum getting hammered by the planners (local story). Anyways made a nice change
  18. Yep or the echo 2511. Have both, not picked up the stihl for a good while
  19. My 361 did this just before the coil packed in. It does sound the spark is too advanced. It be looking at coil gap, and double checking flywheel key
  20. I used metalmorphosis and waxoyl. Seems to work ok and not to hard to apply. Id really suggest get waxoyl gun for a compressor. Means you can blat it on thick and get it to all the nooks and crannies in a fraction of the time. I just got a cheapo off ebay and worked well. Have to heat the cans it hot water though
  21. Sweet. Let me know how the bar and chain hold up with a 200 powering them
  22. Is that running the rotatech chain? Looks reasonably rapid
