  1. yeah don't mind the idea just amazed someone actually thought it would be a good idea, and a time saver, then made it? imagine zip tieing your throtle on your chainsaw then dangling it down below you a rope to try cutting a limb? cool but def mental
  2. i do apologise, meant to post this link
  3. when you realise you hate alaskan mills, give us a shout! have a sweet time with it!
  4. did anyone see this austrailian invention afterwards? https://www.youtube.com/embed/T5WO9nulOXc also pretty mental
  5. Colin White tree surgery nr hexham have a mewp that'll do that and they do it manned for less than 550 i would have thought worth asking anyway. i've worked with them and we nailed a similar dead tree on a huge bank by a road in less than a day. thats manned with a tree surgeon too so they would def know what they are doing.
  6. if you don't want it pass us the fellas number eh? sounds like a bargain but worth checkin the saw over anyway....i usually whip the exhaust off any saw i might buy if used and have a look at the piston to check for any scoring. a friend of mine is selling a 3120 with maybe 60 hrs work, 50'' bar and 30'' bar and alaskan mill etc. he's trying for £1400 and reckons it cost him £1800/1900 quid new. i have never used a 3120 mind you, so can;t offer any advice there.
  7. did you def put the primer gaskets/diaphrams back on the right way/ or even back on? sorry to ask!
  8. power wise with a sharp chain you'll just about be alright unless your logging. i got a ms170 which is about the equivelent and it has saved the day when other saws have been down. secret is stinging sharp, tiny bar. however i got it second hand for £30. not quiet sure i would have paid £120 (with vat.) for it......personally i think i'd get a half decent used saw for £100-150 quid. let me know how it goes if you do get it!
  9. never tried it on my horse but skin so soft def works good for midges on people. that receipe with the coke bottle and tea sounds good. i'd like to give that a go.....
  10. my idiot mind read that as free wood stove. bit far away but a generous offer!
  11. could be fine ~WRC is pretty stable i reckon. maybes don't leave it in direct sunlight or put it in a hot house or something. looks good mate. howd you fox the legs on?
  12. found [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ee9a8B3CaI]this[/ame] whilst trying to fix my strimmer. put a smile on my face
  13. you can get them in america Tree House Fasteners & Bolts seemed rediculously dear when i looked into it. ended up using stainless coach bolts (tool station does these.) for bits thatg joined to v big limbs that wouldn't sway much and using wire rope going through water pipe with spacers looping around beams to they could swing a little when the tree moved. also stainless 12/16mm threaded bar was good you can kind of see it here and many photos here if your really keen have fun!
  14. easy now, be fair they come with a "life time" warranty now days. so if you haven't killed yourself with frustration they replace it if you remembered to register and kept the reciept which you invariably didn't. i too hate silverline. their self tapping screws are really special, if you fancy treating yourself i'd reccomend them. i also accidentally bought some PZ2's which came with a life time warrenty! the singlular exception is a chainsaw bar log vice i got for £8 from them which has lasted nearly 2 years (have used it too.).
  15. just one of those things that feels like there must be a better way. where anyone know of a good place to get a proper lugall from?
  16. i tip my hat at you sir. you must be a patient man
  17. guess the barrow mounted one for kiddling/cooking wood was a pit of a better idea
  18. i like the idea, he seems to have to push pretty hard which seems like an accident waiting to happen. the petrol one somehow seemed safer. thing is, is it actually a time saver? i don't really struggle cutting up wood?
  19. thanks will do
  20. with tension on the ones i've used its a pretty slow and fiddley to get the the point where they can free spool. makes me feel malcordinated everytime
  21. once you've air lined it try filling th oil sump with petrol and running the saw. if its sorteed you'll see/smell pertol running out the oil hole. can;t remember if it applies to the ms 200 but don't spin the clutch off if your doing this
  22. probably wouldn't flow through the pump. try an air line i would, blow it all clear then try again with wd/petrol then decent chain oil. i've used veg oil for years with no probs, but i always mix it a bit with chain oil just to thicken it up and to stop it setting when left unused for a while. veg oil prob isn't the problem, but best to try with normal just to make sure.
  23. also have you been running it on proper oil? i thought i had a problem with an 010av then i used thick chain oil instead of veg and it works fine now. almost like the veg oil was too thin for the pump? when you fired WD40 in did it come out the other end? can you check the line with a airline (take oil cap off first? was it pulling petrol through when you ran petrol through it? i guess its full of crap if filter was missing and tank was full of crap. not done it to a ms200 but getting to the oil pump to clean it has been ok for me as long as you take your time and remember where averything goes.....
  24. husky fuel can. lugall winch release mechanism, compressors thar leak air until you remove the tool from the hose. agree with treeseer about chainsaws. damn sharp silky is the way to go for alot of things
  25. i agree not planting trees is definately bad. but is complicated isn't it cos if IKEA essential are endorsed by woodland trust and this restores peoples faith in them and its just a joke PR stunt that is pretty harmful. suppose it depends how synical you are on these big companys actually changing or just wanting to look like they've changed!
