  1. Really Matt? You're taking my quote from another thread out of context to make a petty snipe in this one? My comment was a tongue in cheek reply to a member who asked "what's the point in pruning a tree, it'll only grow back..." Grow up.
  2. Who's quote got deleted, Matt, and why?
  3. So you don't reckon the end result was more aesthetically pleasing than previous? I'd imagine this is what the "old lady" was after, and was happy to pay for the service. Nothing here suggests she was press ganged into getting the work done.
  4. I just read the title. He did specifically ask for his work to be criticised. Where does that mindset end though? I won't bother wiping this time, I'll only need to do it again later.
  5. Couldn't do it mate, Mendiplogs would miss you too much. The kind of comment like the one I quoted just strikes me as petty. Trees don't need pruning. Fair enough in the majority of cases. Just like my hair doesn't NEED cutting. And what is the bloody point? My hair will only grow back again!
  6. You can run stihl chain no problem. If you must have a Stihl bar you'll need an adapter. RobD of Chainsawbars.co.uk sells these. If you're investing in a new bar however, Sugi Hara light type pro is the best one, and you won't need an adaptor. It's probably cheaper to buy the Sugi bar than it is to buy a Stihl bar and adaptor.
  7. I like the Pfanner Fine grip gloves but then I mostly climb for a living. It depends on what the majority of your work is.
  8. I think he meant the bad pruning by the previous person. They get a lot of that in France too. Lovely job by the OP by the way.
  9. Yawn What's the point in anything, we're all just ticking time away.
  10. My vice is touching myself on the bus.
  11. Fair enough Hopefully it'll die soon do I can get a husky.
  12. Okay, cheers I guess what I'm wondering is would sending my 201t (already got a muff mod) your way be worth the money for the potential gains?
  13. What kind of gains does the ignition advance give? I'm weighing up getting it modified as it currently is, or getting the upgrade pack put on it. Or both
  14. Have you done any work to the 201t yet Spud apart from muffler modding? I'm getting bored of mine.
  15. Nice try Mathew, stop prattling around with your old hedge clippings!
  16. You can buy Oregon multicut for dirty timber, though it's a sod to sharpen. My advice: stick to FC and buy a loop of multi cut too. Save the stump cuts till the end and put the multi cut chain on for that. Myself I just keep a few old chains around on their last sharpen. No big deal if the chain gets raped then.
  17. Full chisel is fast cutting, but loses it's edge fairly quickly, and takes more skill to sharpen. Semi chisel cuts slightly slower, but still quick. Holds it's edge better, and is more forgiving to sharpen. If you're an experienced cutter unclean timber then FC is the way to go IMO. If your sharpening ain't up to much and you have a habit of buggering chains the go for SC
  18. I bet you love Melving Lardy of a Stump Branch then. I liked Levi Brown when he was with Pihl. Funny guy.
  19. Well now you're just bragging... I felled 20000 nettles in a day once!
  20. What!?!? They did a 346 with Nitrous Oxide?!?! Where do in get one?
  21. Reliable or bling and unreliable?
  22. On Wednesday I took down a crappy little plum. Got about of chip I my eye, got it out with the help of s mirror and grubby finger, no worries. Thursday had my left eye weeping yellowish puss constantly, to the point where it was blurring vision in my left eye. This morning my eyelid was crusted shut. Was okay through the day and have used optrex which felt better, but my eyelid is a bit puffy and it's still bloody annoying. Good job it's my bad eye I guess.
  23. Y'see mate, it's good that you now have something to aspire to!
  24. A photo would be cool if you get a chance dude, cheers. It's my favourite feature of the works T540. If I could have similar on my 201t I'd be well pleased. Though I've always though chucking my topper into mid air and catching it by the strop ring to put it on my harness made me look like a real badass!
