  1. Yup, fast idle setting. Easily missed with the daft husky master control.
  2. Oh, I get it, he dropped the C-bomb. Clever.
  3. I don't have a problem. It's you who seems to be getting defensive. The OP asked about a 4x4 Van, and I merely pointed out that the Jimny is not a van. I have no doubt it's a very capable small off road vehicle, but I imagine the reason people but vans is for storage space in the back, of which there is little in a Jimny. I'm not sure about your last comment, but if you'd like to argue further, you'll have to find someone else. It's Friday afternoon, and I ain't rising to it
  4. Same situation? I can promise you I've never worn your Mrs' underwear!!!
  5. ...avoid a Suzuki Jimny, since it isn't a van!
  6. Well it's one thing wearing her underwear in your own time, but when they come back full of sawdust and smelling of 2 stroke I can understand her frustration!
  7. Not really a van, is it?
  8. You don't need it if you're rigging from a bucket truck
  9. Afraid I'm gonna have to bail this year. Thanks to Bolam I can't spend any time sitting down in a car...
  10. It's true, you should never order anal sex online without trying around first. Can't tell the difference between a fart and a yawn now.
  11. I'd swap the Stein lid for a petzl alveo, and the crap boots for something decent, like Airstreams
  12. I'm currently wearing Oregon Waipoua type As. Very light, and pretty tough. I'd recommend them. I also have a pair of Arbotec Breatheflex, which are my favourite in terms if comfort and durability, though at the top end of your budget. To be honest if you're not going to be wearing them 5 days a week the Oregon are a good buy, but if you can stretch to the Arbortec, you won't regret it. You only want to spend the money once in a couple of years, so why skimp?
  13. I'm not condemning Type A's mate, I wear them. In some circumstances though cutting close to your legs is hard to avoid. For example in conny hedges where footholds are scarce, and the only place for your foot is near where you're cutting. For what it's worth I also cut close to my arms, hands, and other appendages. Though never without careful deliberation. Sometimes the perfect work position just ain't available.
  14. Have you ever topped a conny hedge?
  15. If you're constantly tying in to a branch that is likely to snap you're doing something wrong IMO.
  16. It's funny how often my pruning cuts coincide with the height of my ladders...
  17. Have you upped your day rate since you last mentioned it?
  18. Distel Gecko I have the ally full Velcro ones and they're like a cuddle for your legs.
  19. I've been trying to make mine both for 4 years to no avail.
  20. Bugger off, it's like you're slagging off all my favourite kit!
  21. Because he won't buy me a new shiny?! Sounds like you're after Reg's job mate!
  22. I know exactly how much they are. I'm browsing my rigging wish list as I type. What I said was that whilst the fixed bollard is a big improvement, my boss would never buy one as the porty does the job just fine, and is half the price.
  23. Any bloody excuse... We use a port a wrap for all rigging. It's fine, and my groundsman has rigged off lumps for me which made me cack myself. If you're using small dia line it pig tails it to hell though, and because of the choke point sometimes there's too much friction. I'd love a fixed bollard, but justifying the expense to the boss is impossible as the port a wrap does everything we need.
  24. Well my pants are out of date then.
  25. The above is a very good deal for a decent second hand ground saw. I find buying from here is less of a gamble than eBay, since there is more respect amongst members. If you want new, this is a link for a solid 50cc saw, at £360. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=371273650167
