  1. Yeah, waste of money. I had three lads on the ground today dragging 100m+ to the chipper. I bet they aren't jealous of your setup at all!
  2. Oh no! The inboard clutch!
  3. The space button doesn't always work, do I get a few words compressed into one which confuses the spell check. Red wine makes it worse.
  4. Sorry, screen protector messes with auto correct! "Anything to stop you"
  5. I keep hearing about this 360 baffle. Is there anything risotto you just removing it and running the saw without?
  6. Don't bother with saw gloves. Pointless. That's fact, not just opinion.
  7. If you feel like you need a new pair of boots to footlock I would think your technique could do with refining. To be honest its a outdated practice, unless you're competing.
  8. You will struggle to survive subbing at £100 a day. It's simply not feasable. £120 absolute minimum.
  9. That's not the point. Rugby is the same. The tree gang are set up from tax payers money. Equipment, wages, training all subsidised. Then they compete in the private sector against other firms who've had to work for their kit. Rumour has it it's got to the point where outside contractors may get subbed in to do the Council trees as their teams are too busy with private work. I have no animosity towards the lads on the tools whatsoever, but the way it's run is disgustingly corrupt. I know of occasions where the Tree Officer has had the council quoting guy accompany him to TPO apps from private firms.
  10. Mines 3 years old and has recently become a bit less waterproof.
  11. Hmm, I'll bet you're a Peroni kind of guy, ain't ya Very good of you mate. I'll give it a good clean and a splash of cologne before I box it up
  12. I'll take 3... Once I have some spare cash I'll get the357 retuned. It's truly bedded in but sometimes stalls on idle
  13. Cracking oil (if you'll pardon the pun). Tad pricey but the smell is worth it
  14. That sums it up, comfy as the HiFlex, whilst being lighter, cooler and without the tendency to fall apart after two weeks!
  15. I have a pair of Type Cs. I really rate them. Comfy, light and breathe able. I believe my pair were one of the first off the line around a year ago. They're still in excellent nick. Only one small hole in the thigh pocket, after some serious wear. Loads of pockets, decent zips, and the shoelace hook is handy for climbing. I don't reckon you will regret your choice, so long as your lads don't abuse them. They look smart too, great for a pro team image.
  16. Did you actually just say YOLO??? America is taking it's toll on you mate...
  17. If I send my 357 back could you fit a washer to it? Im worried it's not running right now...
  18. 5'8", 10.5 stone, and 5.5" fully erect.
  19. All the good bosses are doing it nowadays! Take a leaf, tight arse!
  20. Yeah but apparently Anal Rejuvenation Surgery isn't... In all seriousness it's a good point. It's very easy to blindly go with the positives. £150 a day sounds appealing for an employee right?
  21. I reckon you're putting a negative spin on it mate. For one thing you left out the part about all that fine ass you contract climbers get to slam. As an employee I'm stuck with " Old Faithful"
  22. And I'm surprised you remember, thought you were too busy drinking my beer and heckling the "casualty"!
  23. I remember it well, very interesting. If you've transferred the casualty onto your system you'll need to add some extra friction into the system. At the Cutters and Climbers they mentioned using a minter hitch on a crab below your system, or if your harness permits (TM was demo'd) take a bight of line from beneath your device, push it through one of your lower D's, and clip a carabiner through the loop (the one on the end of your lanyard for example). If you can't picture what I'm trying to describe Let me know and I'll try and get a pic up. I found the quick seminar really interesting, it's great to go through it from time to time.
  24. The Husky has the better engine, for sure (it should with the extra displacement) but is a pig to start from warm. It's the only saw I struggle with, and I'm no stranger to husqvarna. The Stihl is a solid little ground saw. Starts and runs well, is reliable, and comes with a better bar and chain than the husky. To be honest though, with this type of entry level saw the differences to you will be trivial. I'd go for the best deal/dealer.
  25. I reckon so, yeah. Runs 18" .325 fine though.
