  1. Like in a homosexually spiritual way? Haha good, you were controversial and argumentative, but rarely boring!
  2. Same. It's a big no no to drop the pulley onto hard surfaces, but I never lower it. Like above it usually hangs up.
  3. I'm glad I'm not the only one who notices the similarities! IMO a year is fine for ground work. However there is no way the average person can do a year in tree work, starting at scratch, and be a competent climber at the end.
  4. Beech fell from Monday. One of four, but the other 3 were crap.
  5. Doesn't come with them. I bought mine from a member on here, no way was I paying the 60 quid they want new for some webbing, plastic buckles and an aluminium ring!
  6. So here we go: I dug around in the bottom if my bag today and beneath the sawdust I found my shoulder straps. This time I actually took the time to fit them properly. It's actually pretty comfy, even without a big saw, just climbing around. The TM is a great harness but if you're a skinny arsed white boy like me then is slides down pretty easy. Worse when you're on a stem. I have my saddle slung low anyway. The straps don't really impede movement, but the harness stays where it should be. The thing is, once it's on, it's on. I can't imagine taking it off and putting it on for big jobs. Too much faff. I reckon I'll leave it on and see how I get on with it. Got a 100' Beech to heavily reduce coming up so that'll be a good test.
  7. Yup, that's what I said Stihl HP is mineral oil, and insufficient. Semi synthetic of fully synthetic is fine, as long as it complies with the JASO spec. I'm using Red Line oil on recommendation from a couple of old farts on here.
  8. Failing that type "SRT reduction bulldog bone" into YouTube.
  9. It's next to Hopes. Gotta wash down my breakfast butty with something...
  10. That's how I met my girlfriend. The wheel tapper is one of those pubs where a stranger walks in and everything falls quiet apart from the sound of duelling banjos...
  11. Did you really just quote Top Gun?!
  12. Brilliant! And round here 65+ demand a premium!
  13. A tenner!? People like you are devaluing our industry. Next thing you'll be doing it for the wood!
  14. Yeah but anyone except you would be lying...
  15. Cool. Looks like a fun job. Did you cook meat in the embers? I'd hate to think you missed a trick!
  16. It does look that way. I'm just too tight to risk £8. My only problem with the TM straps is they're a pain to put on and adjust up, so if you do put them on, you might as well leave them on.
  17. Good shout Darrin. I wonder if it would fit on as I'm not sure you can undo the straps to slide it on the end. I'll check tomorrow.
  18. Nice work mate. Did you burn all the brash? Did you have to cart the timber away?
  19. As above. Good for big saw work, but could do with a bit of padding on the shoulders. Wouldn't be too hard to stitch some on though.
  20. Like for like is the 560xp. If the insurance are paying then the tea leaves did you a favour! Just use a good quality oil in it
  21. Does cutting the end off not negate the purpose? Personally I've never seen the point. Sounds like a lot of faff and one more bit of string to attach to my saddle. If it works for you though go for it! Edit: didn't notice it was the 150, hence the end removed. My point remains though. However I regularly clip my 150 to my caritool on the side handle, causing the bar to stick out at an angle. Useful for when you have a lot to cut and chuck, and so far I haven't severed any tendons.
  22. Okay, jobs done, *hic*. What did I charge again?
