  1. Works fine on a sequoia, got a dmm one couldn't get on with it when using the spiderjack always put the SJ at a funny angle to use. On the positive when messing about rec climbing and going down zip lines and on swings it is well good
  2. Yea was Wayne's, what a top bloke, I know what you mean I am always super worried I'm going to leave my SJ on site is an expensive investment. I need to buy a pulley saver too, expensive dam job
  3. Do it... I've had 7 months solid on mine, and it's a dream. Hitches make me angry when I climb now
  4. Just curious to the amount of gear and experience he brings to the table charge 200 a day?
  5. Good skills
  6. when click on a picture to look at it on the iPad they don't load and just stay on the loading screen
  7. Not sure dude I have both and there is a bit of a difference. The blue is more static and a stiffer rope in my opinion and flattens less when going through the SJ
  8. Thanks folks interesting to hear will pm you soon Coleman Thanks
  9. Sports lanyard for rec climbing silky fox has a lovely example
  10. Are there many people on here who are working in Germany at the moment? Just curious to what it is like working out there and whether there are many English speaking tree companies or whether you have to know the lingo? Just looking at planning future travels and be nice to know how people find it. Whether that be working full time or only certain months through the year Thanks Arran
  11. My elbows and hands started to get sore from a lot of rock climbing and tree climbing, I've started to wear gloves, not like the thin pfanner ones but slightly thicker ones. They help loads with grip which helps take the strain of my elbows and if they are say 2mm thick surely that's the equivalent of buying a thicker rope when you grip? ( I'm probably wrong but sort of made sense to me) But don't wear them all eh time don't want soft girly hands On the other hand cougar and cougar blue at 11.7 are nice to grip once warn in and fluffy
  12. Good skills man, i will be back in the UK from nov to start of jan we should go for a few climbs . So have you got a new job if so whoya with bro?
  13. Get the shoulder straps for it, I only climb with the shoulder straps on now from removals to pruning with a silky and it's so much more comfy, especially with a big saw or when you have to climb above your anchor on an awkward tree All the best mate looks likes your loving life and having fun.. Awesome man really inspirational Arran
  14. I think neck elastic works the best but again don't like something loose round my neck so use a sling, also that sling can be used for other things in times of need
  15. Srt for access is now taught on your NPTC climbing and rescue ticket. You are briefly taught it but not assessed on it. If i remember correctly access was a lowerable base tie and access using hand acsenders pantin croll and footloop. I prefer a RW tbh
  16. Plan your route carefully, Be smooth and efficient. It's better to stop for 10 seconds and look and plan rather than climb around the tree realise you've missed something or your rope angle is rubbish and have to climb back up 20ft to make adjustments or to cut something you've missed As said above aswell by CJM
  17. Awesome will place an order in the next few days
  18. On your website you have the main body replacement part for the spiderjack, but no picture, what does it consist of as per parts? I wore the body out on my first spiderjack and just want to make sure it includes everything I need. ( the picture shows the wear I have slightly worn into the pin under the body but that will be fine IMO and doesn't need replacing ) Thanks Arran
  19. I've had it on cougar and cougar blue, was twisting up so much that it wouldn't go through the SJ because it wuss all bunched up, milk it and using it SRT helped me
  20. They are as good as they look, I've used one quit few times now and after the first few steps were you have no weight In your rope you get going and you are off like a rocket . Got a mate who literally runs up the trees. You'll love it Might have been said but if you do take a big fall all your toothed ascenders are under your hitch
  21. Double bowline Figure of 8 English prussik or Blake's hitch For Ariel rescue Timber hitch Munters hitch It's handy to already know the knots or at least the climbing knots as it's one less thing to think about. And gives your head room to take in other information on the day ( from what I can remember )
  22. Popped down the other day and tried the stien ones on and they fit perfect so I think I'm sold, will try the stretch airs just incase the steins can be topped, will pick up a pair next week. I'm on my third pair of cloggers in 5 months...
  23. I have had enough of woodchip going down my boots, can anyone recommend any trousers that have the option for a longer leg, do xfits or pfanner have a longer leg option ? Or anything similar Thanks Arran
