  1. Runs well, hence why I am keen to ship it if it's cost and stress effective.. will bear in mind though
  2. How are you tensioning reg? 3:1 etc, winch on chipper? Curious what works on this scale for you, lots of rope and lightish limbs.. Arran
  3. Climbing kit will come back with me, I've had that in my luggage before. Everything went through the washing machine prior will have to look into shipping costs might have to sell it and buy again..
  4. Your not wrong, I was wondering if it is worth the hassle... shes really dirty tbh
  5. Not worth the hassle and Ive got other stuff to put in my luggage... they are hot on bringing stuff in in luggage thats why I want to ship it:001_smile:

  7. Exactly the same template ?
  8. Awesome, I found one whilst working on a poplar in Auckland, brought it down and all the paper was really damp, let it dry out in the sun for 5 mins red it and then put it back, well cool Arran
  9. please do it, pictures will be required though..
  10. All interesting, either climbers will last longer or will be climbing and cutting more trees per day and still be in the same position by the time they are 35 Innovation is great and should be embraced, what is the climbing industry missing that can be invented in the next 10 years?
  11. 18 years on a prussik... the new generation of climbers who start on SRT and hitch climbers should be able to climb into there 80s...
  12. Buy a hitch climber if you don't like it after a couple of months, put it on your lanyard and go back to a prussik
  13. Yeh I do all the time just leave the ends of your rope in the bowl of the tree out of reach and take your hitch/ gadget off
  14. Climb full time with a sports strop now, you soon learn how to heal hook and have good footwork when your lanyards just over 2m.
  15. Been on BT for a month and it's a nice rope, good in hand and works well with my SJ, plenty static enough for SRT too IMO
  16. Well said
  17. Has anyone used these, or something similar? looking at getting some coms soon On the ropetek can you remove it from your helmet easily for when you dont need it or will it be a case of having two helmets? https://www.treestuff.com/store/catalog.asp?category_id=497&item=7988 Arran
  18. Used blue tongue and Cougar blue and for most trees I ascend srt with a basetie and work off double rope with a spiderjack. Cougar blue is really good once it gets fluffy the hank I had was super static. Blue tongue feels a little bit thicker in hand which I like, not as static but cheaper to buy. Ive used Cougar as well which is the yellow and red version of cougar blue and the two cougar ropes I used were awfully bouncy and milked terribly. But again other people will say different... Donaghys ( or however you spell it ) is terribly inconsistent
  19. Good life
  20. good skills..
  21. good skills...
  22. so very tempting... frothing over bling again...
  23. There was a post on here ages about where someone had put a throwline in a tape measure and attached a ring to it so they could retrieve the rigging line easier. does anyone know what the thread was called. Ive been trying to think of ways of retrieiving the rigging line, i know you can use the end of your climbing line but sometimes it can be a right pain. Anyone thought of carrying like a small pouch with like a 8mm line in it with a biner on the end so that you can clip it to the rigging line let it run out when you rig off something then retrieve it once done and stuff the line back into the bag?
  24. Kiwi Klimbers I have had mate get a pair of the spikescenders fitted to his carbon geckos... looks badass
