  1. I think it depends alot on your life outside of work, whether you have a family or not and what your overheads are. I have very low overheads so being a subby is easy as long as the work is there If you keen and motivated just do it. Its nice to have one company that is willing to have you say 2 or 3 days a week everyweek so you are always guaranteed work as such.
  2. Gave up trying to find the perfect hiax for me, I wear hiking boots most of the time when climbing so hopefully these ones will last a few years
  3. Finally got a new pair of Airstreams again I'm sure these will get worked like, the last pair
  4. All sorted impeccable service at frjones as always (bought some blue tongue)
  5. I've got a few spiderjacks now and I have one with a really worn body and a newish one and they both responded roughly the same way only running It a cambium saver. The SJ's have run 11.7 for there lifetime. The rope does feel thin but it is 11mm as required will try and get a video. Pain in the bum really
  6. Anyone use this combo i just bought some Aeris as it is really cheap and thin but the SJ won't grip on it I'm using a nearly new SJ so it's not the body or the clutch that's slipping ? I understand that it's shiny and new but still should grip.?
  7. Still practice that now after seeing you do it ages ago, as regards to retrieving the throwball I saw a video a while ago where he threw the ball over the limb then attached a grapple to the throwline then the weight of the grapple would allow it to swing over to the throwball over the limb, and then the grapple snags of the throwbag and you can retrieve it all will try and find the video
  8. A waterproof pocket or two, vents at the back of the knee that you can zip up and down to help breath.
  9. You use Arbor-dirt too? Always have it on my harness for spike pruning
  10. Top anchor first time with the throwline... Everytime
  11. Did well not to die from 18m that's a long way down
  12. Rock climbing harness' are cheap just buy one. I rec climbed a tree in a rock climbing harness once as someone had forgot there harness so I have them my sequoia Was interesting to say the least
  13. Just don't wear any socks Second for Airstreams, if your not worried about protection i wear Quechua Bionassay light's from decathlon which are super comfy and holding up alright
  14. Get your NPTC qualifications, then come out here, a couple of years experience will see you right I think.
  15. Have done that before on lime pollards there is a fine art to it :-)
  16. I might take you up on that offer dude, will buzz you up on Facebook tomorrow. Thanks man
  17. What's it feel like when one gets hold of ya finger
  18. Hello 5 shires, hope all is well gutted I missed the APF, has marlow brought out a harness? Has anyone got any pictures if so?
  19. Sweet cheers dude, NZ you mean ,not quite as nice as Oz as it's been raining for forever...
  20. Haha, you full time SRT climbers aren't allowed outside the SRT section anyway. Not suprised you was scared
  21. Another option, climb it SRT and use redirects to reduce pendulum swing
  22. How much £££ it cost?
  23. Good anchor and good rope angle. A long lanyard always helps, keep your weight in you line also. If it does snap on the rare occasion. Enjoy the swing as after that it will be a bit crap

  25. SJ tends stack better in my opinion, the spiderjack is fine you'll only free fall if you hold the lever right down, but there is no reason you would hold it right down useless tea is ready on the deck
