  1. I am guilty of that, that's why I have the book keeper, I don't mind working but I hate the paperwork involved, she is worth every penny to keep everything in order.

    110 Tipper.

I know it would be hard to do on a 110 because of it being shorter but I have noticed that putting the tow bar straight on the cross member with no overhang has made it a really nice stable tow motor.
  3. Not sure that's the general thing, I know what next years accountancy bill is going to be but my accountants have no idea what my turnover will be. Every accountant I have used has charged roughly by the amount of time it takes. When I started using a book keeper my turnover never went down but my accountants bill did.
  4. Sorry to hear about this, I hope the are insured Can you enlighten us ?

Yes that would be a very handy idea

One of the things that makes Ifors attractive is the resale value, the most I have ever lost on one of the tippers is £500 and I owned that particular one 5 years.
  7. I would spend the bulk on wild women and booze, the rest I would just waste.
  8. Ouch That's not good at all. My step dad was in insurance all his life and always told me to declare every little thing otherwise it will be used as a get out if they find out. When I had an accident involving a lorry the owners later said they were not involved and new nothing about it, my insurance company (co-op) legal team would not chase it, even though I had witnesses.

There are so many other good makes out there now that they need to be looked at. When I need a new crane trailer I will most likely have to go Ifor purely because we know it fits, but I will never buy another Ifor tipper.
  10. I have indeed I don't do logs but bags are 0.5c/m of compost which is pretty similar in weight. Payload is 2100KG
  11. Depends if said trailer has a crane fitted 6 bags per load
  12. The time you add strengthening and a motor and pump you will lose a fair bit more than that.
  13. would be interested to know a bit more about this, as I would imagine like others on here I have always been happy to pay a bit extra for the piece of mind of no hassle, I have only had one claim with them over the years and they paid out within seven days. I now pay quite a considerable lump every year to them and the little extra is getting bigger every year, we took some property policies away from them when the difference became nearly £1k but still do a considerable amount with them, I have heard a couple of people now say they have wormed out of a claim and am just wondering if it isn't such a good idea anymore. Back on subject, the NFU have always been happy with anything we have done to the trucks, and have been happy to insure a modded defender that absolutely no one else would touch, but it will be interesting to see if they are happy about my latest performance mods when I tell them.
  14. You could try telling them that if you don't get a loan machine then you wish to return the machine under the sale of goods act, as not fit for purpose.
  15. It's waiting for the VNT kit and inter-cooler to turn up, which is a week overdue, so I thought I would put some paint on it while it's in the workshop, but I can't get the workshop warm enough and it won't go on properly I need it out of the workshop by next Monday to start building a machine. A 300TDI that actually needs glow plugs ? I have never had to use mine on either truck.
  16. If you can get here in 10 mins you can have mine for £50 if you are interested how would you like paying ? Fed up with it today
  17. we bought one to see if it was any good at gluten free bread. Months and a mountain of different recipes later we decided It wasn't
  18. Works fine whilst you have good tenants The only good thing with property imo is the way your property value increases unlike other forms of investment, bad tenants will have you pulling your hair out. I have a friend who has had some money in a prudential fund and he has returned some really good figures, far better than most rental returns after repairs and all the other crap involved in them.
  19. The assisters you can run without a compressor, but the kit I linked to comes with a compressor, needs to at that price, I have some airbags here from another project that I may try to fit on on the landy, then I can get rid of those uncomfortably hard rear springs
  20. If you go up that route make sure you get them from somewhere who are OK with returns, if you fit the new proper 3500kg landy springs the airbag set we were sent didn't fit properly, we came the the conclusion they are for standard 110 springs or will work with worn/saggy HD springs, but are too loose a fit on new 3500kg springs. Just get this setup Defender full air suspension
  21. I generally am a firm believer in that, however we have recently discovered major flaws on some genuine land rover parts used on a full engine rebuild. Not impressed at all is an understatement.
  22. As far as I am aware the extra plates were on utility company special spec chassis, I went through this when I renewed my utility spec chassis with a new galv chassis, I spent ages trying to find one, only to find that it is a kit that is added to a standard chassis as an option, some army landies also have it fitted. They also have bump stop extenders on the front axle of a 3500kg but they are stupidly expensive and not really necessary, if you are bothered about it fit a set of Terrafirma extended stops in their place, it's way cheaper.
  23. Just finished snowing here. I love snow, especially when it's huge flakes, it just looks so nice. A couple of feet of the stuff would be nice
  24. Just out of interest does this come with the air feed unit, or is it just the mask to take the air feed ? What model number is it ?
