  1. I got a fenix tk41, and a Jetbeam sra40, both really nice bright long throw torches, and the build quality is very good. I only wanted torches that took AA batteries as I own quite a few decent quality rechargeable's. I had to bring the Jetbeam in from abroad as I couldn't find one very easily at sensible money here, so I bought both in at the same time, they weren't cheap but worth it imo.
  2. I cleared a big one a few years back and from memory the bark was similar but the cross cut looked nothing like what you have.
  3. I have a couple of nice oak sticks near Colchester, PM me if interested, I can get some pics next week.
  4. Well my 2 torches arrived today Just been outside to try both. I am rarely happy with the quality of goods now days but these I am impressed with. and they are really bright, not cheap but well worth the money imo.
  5. I am pretty sure fire regs come in if it's a house and you go in the loft which effectively makes it 3 storey, unless it's all changed a bungalow with rooms in the loft don't have the same fire regs.
  6. You need to make sure the joists are man enough. Some odd planning laws on loft conversions to do with the way the windows look out and which direction, some do and some don't. Would imagine you definitely need building regs though if you want to do it properly I'm going into the loft rather than put an extension on, but am taking the old roof off and putting new attic trusses on with gable ends
  7. I bought this one from clarkes, I needed it in a hurry and you can buy similar far cheaper from ebay but the quality is good, has a good selection of adapters and a rotating quickie coupler. It's been for quit a few rideouts fitted on one of my bikes that I needed to check.
  8. I ordered 2 in the end, a Jetbeam SRA40 for in the truck and a Fenix TK41 to keep in the house
  9. Yes, quite often up and down on the A12
  10. Have I seen identical paint scheme and name in Essex area ?
  11. So it's just me that would be offended then ?
  12. Hi Brian We spoke earlier anyway Thanks for sending pics, I have decided it is just too far for me, but good luck with selling. Welcome BTW
  13. just checked it out 900 mile round trip, think I will skip it.
  14. I would have it but too far for me to want to go
  15. Hmm I wonder why it is someone else's picture used here
  16. politicians, I detest them all, even the so called clean ones
  17. The thought of driving with that much on it fills me with fear
  18. aye they be the ones
  19. [quote=scraggs;1235286 We fixed it by replacing the stock springs with 2+ heavy duty terafirma rears and machining the assister spring plates a bit so the assisters could still be fitted, and then putting extended bump stops on, it never gets anywhere near the bump stops now, but is a bloody uncomfortable ride when empty.
  20. I didn't think they made anything suitable for heavy loads Jon. I seem to remember looking at them when I put the terrafirma on as I wanted better quality, I was going to go for these extreme 4x4 ones but they didn't have them made up and I needed them in a hurry.
  21. We had an issue with this when I built my 130 body, if you go for a bit of clearance after they hit the bump stops you end up with a stupidly high body. It sounds like a build issue, even if the springs were buggered it still should have a clearance when bottoming out. We fixed it by replacing the stock springs with 2+ heavy duty terafirma rears and machining the assister spring plates a bit so the assisters could still be fitted, and then putting extended bump stops on, it never gets anywhere near the bump stops now, but is a bloody uncomfortable ride when empty.
  22. I had this with the set of bearmach +2 set I am giving away, but not by as much as 15mm, so put a set of terrafirma 2+ and they fitted a treat. Offer is still up if anyone want's this set of 2+ bearmach heavy duty rears for free.
  23. We have had a compromise, the house will be lit up all night along with the yard nearest the house, and the rest will be left dark. I will use another method instead of pir's to activate the other lights, too many problems with cats setting them off, that and cctv should help me sleep
  24. Phone their tech dept and tell them exactly what you need to do, they have a pretty good knowledge of their stuff. They gave us a setup for sticking and sealing fibreglass sheets to steel and the only way to get them apart was to break them.
  25. haha I just posted that in Jon's tread
