  1. Worse than oak ime. Lovely when dry though. Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
  2. Not sure about different coupling options. I took mine in a new citroen car(can't remember model) and a small box trailer with 1300kg mam. The car did make it easy to hitch up with reversing sensor. Hill assist breaks, auto handbrake and auto wipers. So less to think about. Auto handbrake is weird though. Alright in a new car but will probably all go wrong in a year or two. Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
  3. Could be one of the countless safety switches playing up? Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
  4. It was sort of nerve racking but not difficult. Reversing was easy.. Just don't go too fast and look in your mirrors alot. Remember toeing speed limits and memorise correct hitch and uncouple procedure. My instructor was Kevin Parker and he comes highly recommended to anyone in his area. Made it easy really. 5. After being convinced for 90.% of the test that I failed, I managed to pass my trailer test today. Road users beware. Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
  6. Looks good. Let me know if you get anything else nice. I'll be there in a flash. Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
  7. Hope it was a large one. Always got cash waiting for nice logs. Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
  8. Bad luck mate, hope it doesn't affect your work too much, and your back on track soon. Goes to show even with a sandy you have to give it your full attention. Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
  9. I'd be interested in buying some welly if it isn't too far away from Milton Keynes. Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
  10. Looks nice, certainly a lot of planks to get through. You doing it all with an alaskan? Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
  11. Not yet mate, I think I might get lucky, just waiting on confirmation from multi plant that they have a job In Milton Keynes next week. They may p op in and sort it. If not I think I'll be taking it to them. Will keep you posted Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
  12. Great clip always makes me smile. Such a shame to log that walnut. Not the greatest specimen but we'll worth milling. It shouldn't always be about value, sometimes you have to consider the worth. Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
  13. Thanks. I'm in conversation with these and multi plant in Oxford. Not easy finding someone who wants to work on it for some reason. Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
  14. I have bought a Lucas mill as a non runner. I thought I could sort it myself, but now am admitting defeat. I've got it running, but think there's a problem with the throttle Linkages /governor etc. I'm sure that they have been played about with in the past. So I'm not certain how they should be. Anyone who is familiar with this engine who can sort it for me or knows the best place to send it to please let me know. Based near Milton Keynes so the closer to there the better. Thanks James Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
  15. I don't know how you can sleep at night, with your harnesses and chainsaw, when poor old Marilyn is too upset to leave the house! Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
  16. Where abouts are you matty, I'd mill top and bottom in to dimensional timber for legs and rails and centre into slabs and make garden tables from it. I'd be interested in buying In the round but not milled. Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
  17. Call manhole covers Ltd on Monday. 01296 668850. You won't find it on there website, but if you call them they will post you one. Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
  18. I like that slack. Do you apply the resin then turn it out? Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
  19. No not purchasing any. Got a stack of seasoned foot long yew rounds already. Also got a couple of 18" dead standing yews to fell and mill so I'm good for yew really. Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
  20. After all that was said. The tree came down a few days ago and was ringed on site to ease movement. I am still welcome to buy it though! A little mad. Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
  21. The problem with having it demountable is being able to get it on or off. As it is its only held on with 8 bolts. The boom and rams etc can be removed in about 10 mins the rest in another 15. If I do power it with a power pack I won't mount it anywhere. It will just be scrapped to the bed nearer the back when rolling and bought up to the front when using it. Another reason not to mount it at the back is I will occasionally be using the trailer to transport a car. Also I guess it would give you the opposite problem if not enough nose weight. If I were to put quick hitches on the 2 booms I reckon I could get it apart pretty cleanly and quickly wen not needed, so this may be an option worth considering? Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
  22. I'll check the nose weight tomorrow and see what it's sitting at. My guess is 300kg. Not sure I really want to mount it on the bed, seems a shame to ruin a good trailer. The only reason I'm building this is to aid in the collection of saw logs and help when milling, so won't get lots of use. Got an 8x4 for running around with. Think I'm going to push on and then test drive it to see how it pulls. If it's terrible I'll rethink it. If I use a power pack to run it at least that's less Weight on the nose. Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
  23. OK thanks, so it seems like I should start a gain and mount the crane on the bed. But how far down the bed do I need to go before it actually alters the nose weight that much.? Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
  24. I can't find anything that states what the nose weight on a ranger should be. Surely the nose weight changes depending how you load the rest of the trailer? If I were to mount it over the axles I wouldn't have any load space. Surely if it's in front of the axles the bulk of the weight will be on the nose? Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
  25. So you think the whole set up will be illegal? Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
