  1. I assumed that the big Blue tank on the pump acted as a reservoir/relieve tank? Do you think it needs another one? Maybe a small jcb type power pack would be the easiest way? Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
  2. I have a generator but don't think it has a 12v option. Wouldn't be certain how to mount an engine on the 12 v pump, but will think about it. Any advice on how to go about this? Thanks Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
  3. Will check if there is any data on the pump later. Thx Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
  4. So I've started work on mounting a hiab to a trailer. I've successfully mounted the crane and put it to test. Running off the 12v pump in picture. Jump leads to battery. The pump was very hot on the end of shaft in not long. The jump leads started melting in not long. Should the pump get that hot or is there a problem? Is it realistic to run this off 12v or should I buy a power pack with engine to run it off? What's a better set up? I'm new to hydraulics really so it's a learning curve. Also there a leak from the lever control unit. Is it advisable to take this apart myself and try to fit new seals/gaskets or should I get it overhauled professionally? Opinions please. Thanks James Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app

  10. Looks like a nice enough saw log to me. I it the late in the season for felling, but think you should get away with it. If you want to Mill it leave it sitting somewhere till October for best results, but If you Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
  11. Alec is about right. Do lots of lime work and the main difficulty is the weather. Don't want hot sun, rain or frost. Did a renovation job once that took nearly two years, job spec was no cement, no rollers for painting etc etc. When it came to pointing the patio the weather was terrible. When in the lock up one day I accidentally spilt and emptied a bag of lime, in the same movement I knocked a bag of white cement over and it neatly filled the lime bag. That did come in useful. Don't like using cement as a rule but it does drastically increase your working season. Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
  12. Yeah kinda thought that new tyres and brakes and bed attention. Then when fully fixed maybe worth 900-1000 so bid maybe 750. Trying to arrange a viewing. Thanks for help Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
  13. 111308296870. Thanks Everything I reas on this seems to classify trailers as having a gvw. Got my b+e test in 3 weeks so done a lot of reading. But maybe there's a better term for it. Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
  14. Hi. I'm looking at a trailer for sale on eBay. It's quite old but looks OK for the purposes I need. The seller says it hard to make out the plate but can make out the stamped numbers. They are 780,1094and 3057. Can someone tell me if I'm correct In thinking that 3057 is the gvw, 1094 is the unladen weight and if so what is the 780 likely to mean? Thanks for the help. 15. I'll post some pics of Holm oak over the next few days, got some drier Holm oak too but it's spalted and hence a little soft in places, kinda have a project in mind for that anyway. Will get some pics next time I'm near it. Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
  16. Pretty sure there is no decomp but I'll check. Will look in to getting one if I can get her going. Thanks for the advice. Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app

  18. Careful with a planer on end grain. You may just make it a lot worse. Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
  19. Yep carbs all shiny and no decomp that I know of. Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
  20. I could sort you a bit of 12x3 Holm oak as a trial, but it's not fully seasoned. Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
  21. Thanks, I have the Ipl and manual already, I assumed you were talking of some pressure testing gizmo or something. All parts were ordered against the part numbers so should be good. I really need one of these saws up and running for the smaller milling jobs, spuds too busy to help, and I was recommended a local saw doctor called mark Taylor, I going to take one with little compression to him tomorrow and see how he gets on. The one I'm playing with at the moment has loads of compression. Have been putting a little fuel in the carb and can get it to fire but not run. Determined to fix this one myself. And if I can get one running elsewhere it takes the pressure off. One more things been puzzling me. This saw had a faulty on/off switch so I replaced it. But how do you know which way is on or off? Which way should switch be fitted? It seems to have a spark regardless of switch position, so what does the switch actually do. I kinda assume something else is up as surely it should kill the spark. I also agree that choke markings are incorrect, but when I bought the saw it had already been made clear with a sharpie. Thanks again. James Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
  22. Edit, struggling to remove brass screw. Must try harder I think. Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
  23. Thanks wiseco, I cleaned carb with spray, but think I did a good job. Filler cap is new as old one was iffy. No idea what an Ipl is. Think I will strip down and start again. Thanks James Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
  24. OK, more help needed please if any one has time. Stripped one saw carb kit, plug, filters etc. Won't run. Will fire but won't run. Left it a week as no time to finish. Went back to it today and won't pull over. Plug out and chamber is full of fuel. Spraying out the muffler and all sorts. I assume I fitted carb kit badly/problem with needle valve, but all looks OK. There's loads of compression. What have I done wrong and what should I do to rectify.? Thanks a lot in advance. James Sent from my GT-I8190N using Arbtalk mobile app
  25. So I went to see the yew today, she's a nice lady with little expectation of value. The tree however is not so nice, what appears to her as large butt's will more than likely fall apart when cut. It has some value, I advised her it would be worth £150-400 depending what it looks like when felled. I will go back in a couple of weeks to make an offer when down.
