  1. Thanks, I ground the baffle with a metal milling type head on the dremel and finished it with a flappy emery wheel. Its quite easy to do, and doesn't take long to do or get to.
  2. Here's mine, before and after. When I did the baffles I did a muffler (gentle ) mod too. The difference in how the saw goes is quite incredible!
  3. So do you both
  4. You may think it's funny, or perhaps you do not realise how this comes across, this is your issue to contend with. Any replies you've given so far to anyone you feel has been even slightly criticising you, end up with you making excuses. It make you come across like a knob. And though this here forum is not a popularity contest, and there is no need to be best friends with everybody, it would do you good to remind yourself of the fact that you're asking a random collection of strangers for help. Nobody here is under any obligation to do anything to help you in any way....
  5. Fixed that for you, ban the word but from any reply you give. Make no excuses, however valid you feel they may be.
  6. As the weather gets warmer and dryer the chances of cracking and splitting increases quite a bit, especially when in sunlight.
  7. As a Dutchman, can I follow this "revelation" by informing you there is no country called Holland... There is the Netherlands, a country of twelve provinces of which just two are called (north and South) Holland.
  8. Hello, It has just been brought to my attention this very morn that a site I've been working a for a while (clearing scrub and trees on about 1/2 an acre, planting a hedge and laying hedge where possible) may not belong to my client! If this were so, it would most likely be council/highways owned. A very irate neighbour came round and "informed" me of this. Now, I'm very near finished and have heard nothing from any official body though I've been working roadside since Jan. If I continue, would I be held liable? I feel that having acted in good faith and my work has been an improvement to the site even in the eyes of said objecting irate neighbour, my actions so far were reasonable. Any advice welcome on how to proceed...
  9. Did they have patios in the 1500's?
  10. I think petzl's "alveo" comes with extra padding to make it fit smaller heads. Not sure on how small though.
  11. Surely the video shows how adaptable it is, showing off in how many ways it can be adjusted and calibrated, rather than all these steps being necessary for each cut. There us no way a chop saw will be anywhere near as fast or easy when cutting accurate angles over 6" on big timbers.
  12. Surely if the customer "saw a laid hedge and now wants one" they won't give half a flying *** about regrowth from the bottom. The only thing they'll see is whether or not the stems are all at the same angle and the binding. "Oh that looks nice, that weavy thing on top"...)
  13. Why not just plant them at the desired angle and stake and bind them? Would be easy to do, should be fairly successful and the stakes and binders should be adequate support for them to take well. If you plant them midlands style an irrigation system would also be very easy to put in.
  14. Or...: Any fool can see that is not a husky:001_smile: as it looks like all the different plastic parts of the saw are the same colour, impossible on a real husky...
  15. I've heard they've had issues with the electronic emission control systems on the axes so have had to recall the events...
  16. Vito is an overpriced bucket of rust, in my opinion anyways... Vito is 1500/2000kg towing weight depending on spec. Sprinters are all 2800 I think?
  17. Toyota land cruiser amazon vx, with the windows blacked out and the rear seats removed. Tows like nothing else, large load space, comfortable etc. But.... This and the disco don't really count as panel vans do they?
  18. Just to be clear, are you asking for offers on the wood?
  19. Quite boring at the base IMO. Fairly plain and light coloured, soft and not very durable. The branch whorls higher up could make for some interesting figured wood.
  20. There are no vans of that sort of size that'll tow much (if any) more than that.
  21. Another one you foreigners get wrong us the word "acorn" In Dutch there is a word pronounced just the same, "eekhoorn" in German there is a very similar sounding "eichhorn". The above two being both very close to the root of the word meaning "oak-horn" and referring to the wee tree dweller with spiky "horns" , the squirrel. At what point in history did that go wrong?
  22. As a far eastern import to this fair (?) Isle, I continue to be annoyed by the use of the word "dike" when one means ditch. A dike is a body of earth to defend against water, often the creation of one would result in there being a ditch beside one.... Think about it, little Dutch boys put their fingers in dikes to save the country, not just dangle them in some water.
  23. I'd be wary of adding any bracing material to the part affected by heat, as different materials absorb/retain/transmit heat in different ways and at different rates. You may make it worse... If mine had suffered from this issue (never a problem, 2010 saw) I'd have changed the way the exhaust gas flows (by adding a bit more metal to the little "hood" over the side exhaust hole, in addition to the extra large pipe out the front) rather than modifying the most important safety feature on the saw.
