  1. Surely if the customer "saw a laid hedge and now wants one" they won't give half a flying *** about regrowth from the bottom. The only thing they'll see is whether or not the stems are all at the same angle and the binding. "Oh that looks nice, that weavy thing on top"...)
  2. Why not just plant them at the desired angle and stake and bind them? Would be easy to do, should be fairly successful and the stakes and binders should be adequate support for them to take well. If you plant them midlands style an irrigation system would also be very easy to put in.
  3. Or...: Any fool can see that is not a husky:001_smile: as it looks like all the different plastic parts of the saw are the same colour, impossible on a real husky...
  4. I've heard they've had issues with the electronic emission control systems on the axes so have had to recall the events...
  5. Vito is an overpriced bucket of rust, in my opinion anyways... Vito is 1500/2000kg towing weight depending on spec. Sprinters are all 2800 I think?
  6. Toyota land cruiser amazon vx, with the windows blacked out and the rear seats removed. Tows like nothing else, large load space, comfortable etc. But.... This and the disco don't really count as panel vans do they?
  7. Just to be clear, are you asking for offers on the wood?
  8. Quite boring at the base IMO. Fairly plain and light coloured, soft and not very durable. The branch whorls higher up could make for some interesting figured wood.
  9. There are no vans of that sort of size that'll tow much (if any) more than that.
  10. Another one you foreigners get wrong us the word "acorn" In Dutch there is a word pronounced just the same, "eekhoorn" in German there is a very similar sounding "eichhorn". The above two being both very close to the root of the word meaning "oak-horn" and referring to the wee tree dweller with spiky "horns" , the squirrel. At what point in history did that go wrong?
  11. As a far eastern import to this fair (?) Isle, I continue to be annoyed by the use of the word "dike" when one means ditch. A dike is a body of earth to defend against water, often the creation of one would result in there being a ditch beside one.... Think about it, little Dutch boys put their fingers in dikes to save the country, not just dangle them in some water.
  12. I'd be wary of adding any bracing material to the part affected by heat, as different materials absorb/retain/transmit heat in different ways and at different rates. You may make it worse... If mine had suffered from this issue (never a problem, 2010 saw) I'd have changed the way the exhaust gas flows (by adding a bit more metal to the little "hood" over the side exhaust hole, in addition to the extra large pipe out the front) rather than modifying the most important safety feature on the saw.
  13. Must be just the picture (I see this on a phone.. ) but to me it looks like the centre section if the "head" is decayed?
  14. But the bit of Apple this beech handle is fixed to is surely weak?
  15. Looks pretty, but do you not think that's just not the right piece of wood? It broke once before and its not hard to see why.
  16. I had to take a x-mas tree from north of Inverness to south Essex.
  17. Another way of preventing the dip on entry/exit is to lay your guide (ladder/plank etc) on again. Is slightly more work but produces faultless ends...
  18. The only way I can see to make that work is to use a turntable trailer to avoid the issue of the nose weight being so variable. Would be more maneuverable too, though requiring of a good driver.
  19. Lower it onto it. If you just put it in place and leave the tipper up, how would you know it will hold if the ram/pipes fail? The sudden drop from a falling tipper is a much greater force than the same body gently lowered onto the prop. Be safe.
  20. Am I right in thinking these are produced seasonally.....:sneaky2:?
  21. You'll just have to man up and learn how to swing an axe properly, you won't need to bash it then....
  22. Don't know how much birch you have but how about a birch bark roof like the Scandinavians used to build before they went all ikea...
  23. Ten Cate Top-Tex. Cut it in small sheets to cover individual boxes rather than the whole stack. You can tie it on with just a bungee on each corner.
