Interested to see how you get on. I try, where I can to use rollers (egyptian style) and roll up boards. Scaff pole offcuts. I also use an ifor trailer and mount load ramps on the side to do the same. I thought about suspended rope contraptions but the weight of the stick meant tension between trees etc made the whole setup ready to fail. Back to rolling. If I can load it...it goes home. If not it stays there.

Hi Steve, I have been looking at this and using the search without problem. My comment / question is...Today I spotted a "we pay for wood" tip site ....which is great as I am potentially one, however....getting to the point. Comment: Navigating to this is not possible. You've made it a separate directory. Q: Are you going to make it a choice on the Tip Site drop down menu? Could you? Would it be something to make refining the search easier? I do like it....It is all superb work. A definite Plus! Bob

Just seen this and read it. The way I see it. @Big J you are right. Saves a load of effort. I am small scale but this last year have moved several loads of green to people with the foresight to buy cheaper when I have offered it as split and ready to deliver. @Skyhuck and others are also correct. Despite education and even maybe inclination....some people just can't do it. Same reason people were going mad at the shops in the last few days of Christmas....lack of planning, foresight....or just the way they've always done it! Change is often a slow process. That's the ready made version...at the right price and for the right use (non-pro) it ought to be a go. It has a small weep from the oil tank....my fault for not sealing the cases better. It runs well enough (must remember 25:1) and is a ready set of spares if the regular 660 has issues. I got it during last years Black Friday sale and I think it stood me in about £160-180 odd. It's paid for itself. I was too slow to commit to one of the MS020T "kits" which is why I was looking at the ready made (ready imported) Chinese top-handles...

Rarely use a maul after buying X27 a couple of years ago. In fact I find it so efficient I bought a X17 that gets far more use. Green Oak rounds at the minute... no trouble all day with X17 until they get knotty...bring out the X27 Bingo! :-)

Hi Lazurus... Similar ... I was following your chilling thread as I'd bought a chinese mill. I also have a Huztl MS660 kit attached to it. These saws were Chinese built top-handles. I thought a better go than make a MS020 Huztl kit..... Thanks Bob

Didn't know it wasn't good to mill. Thanks FWIW... I have had some as firewood and would say that it's ok...average.... It isn't as good as regular oak , it does take a while to dry. The woodland seating / sculpture seems a nice idea.

It isn't localised to Wales....I live 6 miles from Gatwick and a the SatNav uses the farm drive we live on as a cut through.... It has only ever been a continuous road before satellites were invented. Farmer has Dead End signs up but still the Airport Taxis hammer down the drive and sheepishly come back. It isn't the only one round here. I think it's a lot to do with the upload from OS into the SatNav database. They just didn't mark restrictions or blockages well and so they've not been identified. Personally, use it for getting from town to town and the rest is looked up in advance using google maps/street view / local directions. IMO nothing beats driving around with your eyes open looking at local markers.

It looks a smashing set-up. Apologies for the silly question (s): Is the reservoir for chain oil? Is it gravity fed? and lastly why not use the oil feed holes in the bar? The pictures are good. I just couldn't make that bit out.

Hi Steve, Not sure if it is a problem or not. Browsing Arbtrader Classifieds (which I like very much) and am a bit offput by sections saying they have miore adverts than they actually display. It also changes with the wind. e.g Arb Equipment...said 10 adverts (displays 7) @ 08:54 and after a refresh says 5 and displays 2 @ 08:56 Is it me? Cheers Bob
