  1. i know now,t ???? according to some,,,,
  2. Nearly sugested that i come and give you a lift for a day or two, but if you going to be like that i will go and fell some 100ft rhodeys in stead,,,,
  3. you will never get that roof on before christmas,,,, when did you start it 2000 & what ???
  4. Hi i have a 3.0ltr cabstar but it is only a single rear wheel, i think the gross weight is 3200kgs and the towing capacity on the vin plate is about 5800kgs ,crap really, had the truck 13 years now and i cant fault it been ultra reliable and the best thing about it is with the 3200kg gross weight i would not need a tacho in it, truck will pull like a train and the weight i put on the truck and trailer is a bit OTT at times but it dont look over loaded and pulls fine,
  5. get then corners up 4 or 5 courses one day, then just run it in day after, much faster 200 blocks a day,
  6. not FSC but i looked in to a FISA registeration a few monthes back and it just seemed like i was paying them to let me go to work, i think registeration fee was around £250 + VAT and they took about 25p per tonne of me for every tonne i sold wheather it be log form or chip,
  7. what ever engineering solution you come up with ? it will only need doing again and again in the future, from my past expierance in this subject there is only one answer, as we can not stop the forces of nature and that tree is only going to get bigger as time goes on and push the wall out even further and even lift the footpath, then thats another problem for the the property owner, once brick work is opened up like that it then becomes more vunarablle to frost damage and that will just accellorate the problem to some extent , remove it and plant another tree to replace it,
  8. Dont know what he is on ? But i would,nt mind some to give it a go <<<<
  9. an old bloke i worked with 35 years ago gave me so advice one day and that was, if its got tits or a engine it will give you trouble,,,
  10. havent been to look at any other fields yet as 3240 acer takes a bit of getting round !!!!! and yes we do have a lot of pigeon shooting, ,and wheat round you that went in 2 wk ago is that high all ready ? its not all put in in sept/oct you know,,,
  11. if your a farmer, apply for a more in depth licence ,, NON are of any use to any one and its costing thousands in lost revenue at the moment, 36 acre of wheat been stripped out just down road from me at what expense to the guy who owns it ? he hasent time to go cant put gas guns on as every one moans about them starting at 6am and as it reads,it has to be the land owner and who is doing the controlling, the licencing will be a lot different than it was 4 wks ago and when it will get sorted is any ones guess could be weeks or even months yet ? and this issue will break some small farmers as some are counting the cost all ready,,
  12. I think it will as there is no licences that are fit for purpose sorted out yet and how long this will take is ? how long is a piece of string ? you only have to go back to 2001 foot and mouth no shooting for 8 months and crows, pigeons and magpies just seem to explode in numbers round us, but the numbers of blackbirds, thrushes and song birds where dramatically down and that was just one breeding season,
  13. But Chris Packham wants to save all the corvides that do the damage to all the song birds, i think you had better ask him as he is a expert ? in this field,,, may be he could explain it to us all where the song birds are going but it would only be FAKE news ??????
  14. 1990 kubota L3250 40hp been abused for several years now extracting timber and still going strong
  15. i think i will need 1 or 2 more yet ?
  16. next week for me ?
  17. did i say i did,nt like it No, pearsonally i think the FISA refresher could be a lot better i found it very basic like back at cs31, on the day talked about saws, safty proceedurs, and setting tirfor winch up and got to fell 1 small tree and anothere cs32 sized tree (just) not allowed to do windblown thou , but windblown makes up about 60% of my forestry work, i think it could be included if thats what you do most the time, or am i wrong on this ?
  18. Got a saw in my hands nearly every day but just had to do a FISA refresher course at a coast of a lost day and £200 ish for 6 hrs doing the things i do every day but it ticked some boxes and thats about it oh and got a certificate that said i had been there, the thing what gets me is we all drive and there is more people killed on our roads in a day than there is in forestry and arb in a year, but do we do a driving refresher NO, i could possibly see this coming as another money making scam where if you are of a certain age you will have to renew every 2/3/5 years,
  19. dont waste your time and the customers money on a micro digger get something with a bit more punch this is what we use it will rip rodeys out 10-12"with little effort
  20. Hi at 8ft they would be approx 1.6 tonne depending on moisture content,
  21. My first thought was, he was going to be asking for a cure for a chapped arse ???
  22. she sounds all right on the phone ? but knowing my luck she will be about 25 stone in which case i would get more than my fare share, and looked at my 460 and 461 this morn and your right it wont fit,
  23. is it the same as the old 460 ? if so there is a shop on ebay called stihlasgood she is called kim and is very helpfull i have had a fair bit of her and if ordered before 3pm allways here morning after,
  24. Todays world is not like it was 30-40 years ago when i was at school we had a bit of respect for the teachers not like today where the kids rule the class room and thats where it all starts at school, as the youth of today just dont want to work and they would look at that video and say i am not doing that, i would of jumped at the chance to do something like that at 15 instead i ended up working in a saw mill making 8000 6x3 posts for the side of the M55, when i get a new lad working with us i can generally tell with in an hour or so if he will be any good or not by the way he handles a saw and if he looks shit scared of it i will try and put him right but some times i might as well bang me head against a wall and its these guys that generally have the accident first, the guys who look like they will be ok will be,
  25. well one way to look at this is just look at what the zero (electric bikes) have done on the isle of man at the TT they have come on so much in the last 5 yrs and are now lapping at over 100mph, so i cant see why saws cant end up on battery power, BUT how big a saw can be created to run on battery power in commercial forestry ? before you need a Quad bike and trailer to get all your batteries there with out killing yourself before you start, i can see a saw like a ms261 being on battery power in the next 5 yrs, but for a saws like a ms461/462 i think is a long way off yet, i have just bought some new litheum batteries for a drill and what a differance to the old nicad ones,
