  1. I’ve found the Andrews to be good in spikes. Stiffer sole than Airstreams, that’s for sure.
  2. Yes the HAAS loop works perfectly, it just wore through.
  3. I’ve been wearing them for 1.5 years. Very well made boots and the midsole has now deteriorated which is annoying as the rest of the boot is in perfect condition. Apart from the HAAS loop which started fraying about three months ago and snapped last week. I think the reason the midsole has crumbled is because i don’t take care standing in tight forks and generally have never taken care of the boots anyway. I’d say they are an excellent choice if you like stiff boots.
  4. No idea what it does Mark but it will look brilliant on the job site, propped up next to your chipping mirror. In fact, I’m sure it will earn you enough money to buy a felling mirror! No more crushed fences or cars. I’ll be ordering two of them. The first one will impress the staff and the second is to impress the clients. Brilliant!
  5. Agreed. I don’t understand why guys think it’s cool to abuse the gear that earns them a living, even if the boss is paying. In fact, especially if the boss is paying!
  6. I have no experience with cheaper ones but I have bought cheap things in the past and it’s always a mistake. Sena! [emoji1360][emoji1360]
  7. Good point, oops. South end of Meath Green Lane, Horley Surrey. About 80metres north of the junction with Landon Park. You can’t miss it. It is a lorry load. The Herras fence can be moved in moments if necessary.
  8. As described. Next to a road. Between 18” and 30” diameter. Also two big trunks about 1.6m diameter and 4m long. It’s the end of the job so I just need someone to shift it. Al on 07834414271 Enjoy.
  9. Get a Sena. I’d advise the ones that are integrated into the ear muffs. A bit more expensive but worth it as it eliminates all hassles.
  10. Blazzin Saddles. Every Clint Eastwood movie. Any movie that contains Rhona Mitra and/or Natasha Henstridge.
  11. It’s the Echo bar and chain that comes as standard. I think the chain is sharpened with a rusty spanner and the bar is made of compressed eucalyptus leaves.
  12. I’ve just bought another 2511. The bar is different to the bar that came with my first 2511. This bar & chain will be going in the bin at lunch time too. Lol!
  13. Miscommunication here. I was referring to a slacker that PM’d me and the inference was that I should pick him up and take him for breakfast, at a time that suits him. Hilarious. Apologies that my above post appears aimed at you. You were the only one that actually replied to my reply to say that a different opportunity had arisen so I hope it all works well for you.
  14. Agreed. He replied to my advert by posting his own phone number! Like I’d be lucky to have the opportunity to chase him, just just because he got out of bed.
  15. Actually Bob I was hoping for someone with the mindset of self-employed on the wage of a volunteer! Bwahaha! Only joking of course. The person with the correct attitude will earn a decent wage. Simple.
  16. I have no problem at all with paying people what they’re worth. If they’re useless they don’t get paid. If they’re brilliant they get paid what they’re worth. I expect to earn a decent living and if someone is willing to work well and not damage my kit and reputation then they should earn a decent living too. Simple really.
  17. Is there a serious lack of people who need a job? I’ve been advertising for ages and had only two applicants. One was too far away and the other was too lazy. I’m wondering if this is a general trend at the moment. I’m looking for a groundie and a climber, could be groundie/climber. Could also be full time or free-lance.
  18. ? Telling lies and Roofies? [emoji12]
  19. Good to know. I get almost all spare parts for my Husky saws from you already. Excellent service at Skyland peeps.
  20. Still looking as no one suitable has come forward yet.
  21. We have a vacancy for a climber 2 or 3 days a week. Primarily domestic Arb work with a small number of commercial nice clients. While the relevant tickets are necessary, I am more interested in the right people to fit into the team. A good work ethic, a conscientious attitude and a good degree of common sense are essential. Call me on 07834 414271 or 01293 782547 or [email protected] Thanks Al
  22. Still looking.
  23. Exactly what Rich said. [emoji1360]
  24. We have an opportunity for a developing climber to work in the south Surrey/north West Sussex area. Candidate needs some prior experience but must be hungry to improve and grow into a well rounded arborist. We carry out primarily domestic work, which means relaxed pace & tea breaks, as well as satisfying a small commercial portfolio but I'm quite picky about those clients and only go with the nice ones. Salary will be dictated by your abilities, (not age or tickets or ego) and will grow as you develop. Please contact me on 07834 414271 or [email protected] or PM me. Thanks for reading. Al.
  25. Trousers for climbing in or chainsaw arborist trousers? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
