  1. Good to know. I get almost all spare parts for my Husky saws from you already. Excellent service at Skyland peeps.
  2. Still looking as no one suitable has come forward yet.
  3. We have a vacancy for a climber 2 or 3 days a week. Primarily domestic Arb work with a small number of commercial nice clients. While the relevant tickets are necessary, I am more interested in the right people to fit into the team. A good work ethic, a conscientious attitude and a good degree of common sense are essential. Call me on 07834 414271 or 01293 782547 or [email protected] Thanks Al
  4. Still looking.
  5. Exactly what Rich said. [emoji1360]
  6. We have an opportunity for a developing climber to work in the south Surrey/north West Sussex area. Candidate needs some prior experience but must be hungry to improve and grow into a well rounded arborist. We carry out primarily domestic work, which means relaxed pace & tea breaks, as well as satisfying a small commercial portfolio but I'm quite picky about those clients and only go with the nice ones. Salary will be dictated by your abilities, (not age or tickets or ego) and will grow as you develop. Please contact me on 07834 414271 or [email protected] or PM me. Thanks for reading. Al.
  7. Trousers for climbing in or chainsaw arborist trousers? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  8. What are using Rich? BDB? Why not the Akimbo? Thanks Al. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  9. I'm going to have one or two Transit loads of very clean wood chip to dispose of. I don't mind paying a reasonable fee so if anyone can help it would be much appreciated. Call or message 07834 414271 or PM me Thanks Al
  10. My advice would be to buy an Echo top handled saw. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk

  12. Hi Al. I've been using one for 4 or 5 years (cos I'm ace) and wouldn't want to be without it. Cheers Al. [emoji12] Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk

  14. Look for the 'tiny echo' thread and it's all there. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  15. Well spotted Mark. I guess he's struggling for work but he'll possibly struggle to get extra work with other firms as his truck is sign written. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  16. I've had the Stihl bar and chain and that transformed the saw. Then I got the Sugihara bar & chain from Rob D which is at least as good, possibly better than the Stihl. (So long as you sharpen it before use, oddly). One of my staff has a 150 and every one of us prefer the Echo because it's lighter, cuts faster, better ergonomics & better quality. 17. Perfect. It needed a retune after a few weeks so I did that myself. Then it worked like a turd so the dealer did it properly. Lol! Since then it's been perfect. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  18. No nothing at all hit me. When lifting the mulcher to lower it onto the brambles I just angled it so that it was facing away more. Simple. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  19. I can only answer one if your questions as I'm not an Avant owner but have used them many times with pallet forks for moving logs. Although I recently used one with a flail mower. We cut down hundreds of Blackthorn trees with 4" thick trunks and it was expectedly slow to make progress when there were multiple trunks under the deck but otherwise it was extremely effective. Obviously not as good as an Ahwi with 600hp....... but I was pleasantly surprised. On the areas of dense bramble and a trillion 2" thick saplings it was superb. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  20. This is what happens when half-wit lawn mower pushers get sent out to plant trees that are paid for by tax payers (which includes themselves!) Genius. [emoji107]🏼[emoji107]🏼[emoji90][emoji90] Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  21. YES! That looks like a proper chipper and I like the specs. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  22. I didn't know Morbark are in the U.K. Interesting..... Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  23. Sorry Dave, I was referring to the general cost of everything in our society. But if a generalisation but costs/pace/stress/consequences are generally higher than they were in 'the good old days'. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  24. I agree Gary that it is surprising. However the issue that a manufacturer faces as soon as they start creating the first prototype is that from that point in time forward, the investment is huge, very real and very risky. Therefore they have to get the product into the market as soon as possible. A manufacturer possibly has an investor that has been promised a return by a certain date so there's a lot of pressure. These things rarely happened in the good old days because things were not so expensive (and maybe, people weren't so greedy). Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  25. Yes you're right, my post was a bit harsh and I only used Forst as an example although it appears that I'm taking a swipe at them but I wasn't. Other brands have had similar problems, including Toyota!! Although the second part of your post is only partially true. They are a new company but sold Jensen for many years, then copied the Jensen.
