  4. Hi, Im just wondering if anyone knew of a company that makes load covers for tippers? I can find a few that do them for Bigger 7.5t trucks and pickups but nothing for 3.5t! Cheers Ash
  5. Or just buy m3 ventel bags for £7 each?!?
  6. Yep i have used one on a singlecab pickup this winter, its really good! I would recommend them to anyone. Its far easier than unloading by hand and about 2k cheaper than converting your truck into a tipper! Ps i have sold my truck and will be selling it in the next week if your interested!!!
  7. I have been looking insurance for my movano tipper for the last few weeks, im 23 with 6 years no claims and there is no point saying its a tipper because no one will touch me! I couldnt even get a quote off anyone, i tried about 30-40 companies, then done quotes for a dropside and the cheapest i could find was £1700 3party f+t, £2500+ on fully comp, its only worth £2500 anyway! my 27 year old mate was £710 3rd party F+T, so im not going to be able to drive it, its a joke, you get 0 help if your young and trying to start a business! I work 7 days a week and i would be better off staying home having a few kids and claim everything under the sun!..... Rant over
  8. Not much change from £15k?!?? More like £50k!!
  9. they all put the prices up 18% a few months ago didnt they? They probably felt a bit guilty puting everyones prices up 18% then announching quater profits of £10b or something stupid!
  10. 30% of all our insurance comes from whiplash claims unfortunately!!!
  11. I really cant understand why more people dont go for softwood! Thats all i burn now and its so good. Alot of people say it burns alot quicker than hardwood but i really cant say im puting more on now than i was when burning hardwood and heat output is the same if not a bit higher
  12. The uk have allways been too soft, thats why people think its totaly acceptable going into someones house/property and take things because they know even if they did get caught by the police for stealing some logs what are they really going to do? £60 fine and a caution most lickly! Even if they did find themselves in jail for 20 days well thats 20 days of free food and a whole lot of playstation and pool to catch up on! Not punishment. I personally think you should be able to do whatever it takes to stop that person doing what they are doing, if that means shooting them in the leg then so be it! Im not saying its ok to kill them but If that person wasnt stealing your things and just getting on with his/her life like we all do not finding the need to go onto other peoples property and take other peoples things then they wouldnt of been shot in the first place! And i would guess that person wouldnt be stealing your logs anymore either!
  13. Before i started i just bought logs off a local tree surgeon cheap. I loved cutting, splitting and seasoning myself and it was at a 1/4 of the price of buying it in. I did buy a few loads localy that were rubbish (they were cheap local paper adds so from what i know now i wouldnt of bothered) for when i ran out. I had a cube or two left over one year and sold them and thats what started me doing it on a larger scale!
  14. Been to 2 new stove shops around here in the last 6 months and both of them asked how much for a ton, didnt really know anything about firewood. explained i sold it in a cubic metre and thats what alot of people are now selling and explained what that ment and told him the price and the approx weight of a cubic metre of beech and he then still said well i know a guy that is selling it for £50 a ton so your very expensive! I heard the other shop telling a customer that only buy wood off certainly wood and if hes not using the stove just on weekends dont worry about buying a big load just buy the 7kg bags that the shop sells for £10! So if the stove shops dont have a clue the customers have no chance!
  15. I bought an electric one a few months ago, cant remember the make but was about £80. The best thing i have bought. i have 2 chains and keep swapping them when one is getting blunt and sharpen the other one when the geni is on and im waiting for the kettle to boil! Takes 2 minutes and they cut like new when done properly
  16. I havnt got one but i did call and ask about 6 months ago, from what i can remember i think they were about £200
  17. I bought a Wallenstein last year and i would recommend them to anyone! Built like a tank, honda engine, very quick operation and will split anything you put infront of it. Customer service by wallenstein uk is top notch too, hope this helps Ash
  18. Have a look at few topics down called "what is seasoned"
  19. Im not taking on any new customers at the moment, sold loads in august/september/october but only have enough to keep my existing customers going over the winter! Cut cut cut for next year
