  1. Yea our engine let go at 120k with a service history every 15k miles. Other than that its a great truck! Handles full loads very well and its very nippy too. Having driven loads of different vans and trucks i was suprised how nice they drive!
  2. 60! Im 24 and thinking im to old for this...
  3. Yea we take a couple of bags on every delivery. We usualy sell at least 1 bag per delivery!
  4. Has anyone actualy had a load of imported kiln dried?! Im interested how many loose cubic metres you get out of 28 x 2 cubic metres stacked?! From abit of reading around it looks like 40% more than stacked so im guessing around 2.8 loose cube from 2 cube stacked?!
  5. I found on there website that they import around 3000 tons of firewood a year in busy periods. You cant really argue with someones firewood business when they are selling 15000 tons a year at a minimum of £160 a cube! Im nothing to do with cw by the way
  6. Hi, we have one now thanks
  7. Clown features is at it again, havnt heard from him for a while but im now certain hes been snooping around the yard from the poplar comment. "try to f*** me over with the builders bags now its my time, most of your hardwood is poplar which really is a softwood and burns out fast and for the bull s*** about your softwood im going to let everyone know its a **** fast burning wood that doesnt last, thing is when you try to slag other people down it will bite you in the ass, ps log sales really well" I have a load of poplar in the yard at the moment because we had it very very cheap, so im not mixing it with the hardwood loads and im selling it on its own very very cheap. I try to get on with everyone in the firewood game localy but i dont know what this guys issue is! I have emailed back saying i really couldnt care less what he does and how he does it but stop emailing me, and stop going to my yard! I just cant be bothered with the hassle
  8. We give it to the horsey ladies on the farm.... We like the horsey ladies
  9. Yea i did think that! do you know anyone?! my idea was to buy something, cut the load up and sell it on hopefully not losing much!
  10. Yes its just a simple 2x2 wooden frame, was thinking of getting a metal one made but just made that in the mean time, cost about £5 and has lasted well over 100 cube so far. Not going to bother with the metal one now. Will try and get some better pics on the weekend
  11. Its the farmi mastersplit wp36, its a great machine!
  12. Im just wondering what you guys use for cutting big firewood? got a husky with a 15" bar on it but need something 24-26" to cut some big stuff. Only need it for a few weeks so will only be buying it and selling it on!
  13. Here is the one i had made, its simple but very afective!
  14. Yep all money! just spent £800 on it getting it fully serviced, pads, discs wheel bearings ect... 4 miles down the road and the cam had seized in the head. Run without or not enough oil when he was doing a service 2 other garages think! £1500 rebuild needed. Not what we needed this time of year lets just say im going to fight like crazy to get that money back!
  15. 18 cube of part seasoned going out this weekend! unfortunately we wont be seeing any of it, have to pay for the engine rebuild on our truck some how
  16. Staying at £100 next year for hardwood. Might introduce a kiln dried option as well at a higher price. A few of the good suppliers localy are all on the same sort of price. We all get on and know theres enough customers to go around! i got abit annoyed last year with people selling builders bags and cubic metres so cheap, advertising them as seasoned when they clearly wernt! but thought i sell out by december every year so why worry! I have had a huge amount of people this winter (more so after christmas) call because the last person they had it off had avertised seasoned and they were soaking! Or advertising hardwood and delivering softwood. sold alot of them part seasoned (25-30%) and all loved it so god knows what crap other people were selling. Still a few that are £70-80! Its mad if you ask me, i couldnt aford to sell seasoned at £70 buying in cord, but stick to a price that makes you profit! people dont mind paying for quality, you only have to look how much the "hereford based kiln dried company" sells at £160 a cube to know that
  17. Phones going mad but no seasoned wood left
  18. I bought one about 18 months ago, its great! does glow abit on the sides when run flatout but its still going strong now. We put everything through it too!
  19. Hi Jon, i might know someone that could help, had a call from a guy from Abergavenny way that had 30ton of butts that he was trying to sell. Is that too far for you?!! If not i will give you his number
  20. Ahh i see, i wondered if he was buying in cord or arb stuff. Would be good if your mate stops supplying him and does it himself! I like that im not the most pc person in the world but that sounds alot better, cheers! I dont know, and im not happy about him knowing, he also said on one of his emails that "the bags you have in your shed dont look like cubic metre bags" and i have never taken a picture of the inside of our shed or any of our bags which are definately cubic metre bags. If i find out hes been snooping around my yard i wont be happy. What does he do as a main job then?! If you know where he operates from pm me, might be handy if anything goes missing! New cctv should tell us if he did it again and i hope next time bruce the german shephard next door is hungry!
  21. he didnt say anything about the website seemed to be harping on about my ebay add. Just seems to be a pleb thats not selling anything. He will be having some of my customers this week, the timing belt snapped on the van today so it wont be going anywhere for a week or two Nightmare mate! And that comment doesnt slag people off that sell builders bags, but theres alot of people around here that have a builders bag in there picture and call them ton builders bags and say it as a "cubic metre" as you probably know! dont think its cwmbran logs, hes from duffryn and doesnt have a website or anything. Cwmbran logs are a community enterprise thing arnt they?! Yea its really good, alot more customers are using it now. they do a chip and pin machine for it now too. It works out 2.7% so not too bad. Was thinking of charging to use it but we will see how it goes.
  22. I just dont have enough time to process anymore than i am now to the honest. We bought a processor in june last year so was too late to get aload of stuff cut and ready for the winter. We are stocking up alot more this summer. But surely a business wouldnt be viable if i had 500 cube sat there not selling?! Rather than having 500 cube of seasoned and selling it within 3 months? After the seasoned has gone people buy alot of unseasoned, so we still tick over.
  23. Oh my, he just emailed saying "youll find 750x750x750 makes 0.75 cubic metre dick head" .......
  24. Hes apparently now going to sell more wood for less money than me and take all my customers haha I probably have about 4-5 people sell wood cheaper than me in this area. I still sell out every November/December!
  25. Yea i based it off a 800x800x800 bag and thought i would round it up a little to 0.55 but still. He doesnt seem too good at maths or using google to find out answers to things before sending a complaint email to someone. Maybe after reading it a few times he might not mean come and damage my machines but i was raging reading it the first time. If hes scared of abit of competition hes in the wrong game! We should all be sending narky emails to the very big supplier in hereford for "taking our customers" ;-p
