  1. The yard is looking abit of a mess at the moment but heres my wood pile. Another couple of loads coming in this month
  2. Im just wondering if you guys have had any problems getting any money back after cancelling your business insurance after 6 months? I have just changed insurers as my old insurer wouldn't cover me for something i needed covering and when calling them to cancel the old insurance they said because its after 6 months (by 1 day) they couldn't refund me any money because i paid annually?! So I'm about £300 at a loss by paying it annually! Very annoying
  3. Right i will start off the bidding... £10 a crate..
  4. For the same money i would go for the Farmi mastersplit
  5. Matt i will have to pop in one day and take a look!
  6. £100 seasoned £120 kiln dried
  7. I dont understand why you think selling by weight would be better than volume? My truck is split into 3 cubic metre bays, the size of those bays never ever change so i know the internal size is 1 cubic metre. It doesnt matter if im cutting 15" logs or 7" logs the size is always the same. If you sell by weight you will be getting every tom, dick and Harry selling wet crap for top dollar
  8. No worries Andrew i will pm you a few prices tonight
  9. Very good point!! Im based in Pontypool, South Wales
  10. Hi, I'm in the process of sorting out a wholesale side of my firewood business. I will be offering unseasoned and kiln dried softwood and hardwood. Minimum bulk order of 30+ cubic metres. Im just gauging how much interest is out there and how many cubic metres people would want per year. To give you an idea of prices, i estimate the kiln dried hardwood at an average 20% moisture to be £75-80 per cubic metre + delivery. Obviously cheaper for unseasoned. Im just trying to get some idea of interest to start, and then hopefully get the ball roller early this summer. Cheers Ash
  11. Iain, John really does love the logpro.... Has he not signed up yet?.....
  12. How much would one of those processors set you back?
  13. This time next year......
  14. Did anyone else go to the demo's over the last few days? Went along yesterday and was so impressed by the whole thing. The build quality of the boiler, fans and other working parts are so good. Obviously built to last if the RHI is running over 20 years. Thanks to Iain and the other guys for all the information and help! Cant wait for mine to arrive
  15. Surely the best thing to do is contact CPL and ask them what price they would give for your kindling? My guess is pennies
  16. Yes they are great for moving stuff around. I have moved 2 1.8m3 boxes of wet logs around with ours. Takes 2 of us with a good push but its doable. I would say though the floor needs to be flat and concrete. Any tidy bit of bark or stone bits stop it in its tracks!!
  17. 1 cube stacked doesnt give you 1.5 cube loose. I have had a container of kiln dried through and it works out at 1.2 loose at most!
  18. The horsey ladies have ours too, a few of them are rather lovely looking so we dont mind..... I have thought about getting a briquette machine but im guessing you would need a hammer mill to make it smaller too?! Anyone else use a briquette machine?
  19. Yea i have always worked it out at 1.5 cubic metres out of a ton of cord.
  20. Go and buy one then, let us know how you get on. I will be generally interested! If your in the position to buy one the logpro obviously isn't for you. He's not holding a gun to your head to sign the lease
  21. Thats perfectly fine but i havnt got the money to buy it or wouldn't be able to get finance on it either being a relatively new company. So if i cant get it in the first place i cant get the RHI payments on it. 5 years down the line things might have been different but for me now this would be perfect. I would make full use of the fact i will be able to turn wood around in less than a week and in that case not run out in November so have so much more capacity to cut, dry and sell throughout the winter. Therefore making more money.
  22. And the link you put up, 36,000euro - £30,000 + vat + import duty + RHI compliant boiler + RHI compliant metre + RHI accreditation ?!? Sounds really cheap
  23. i cant believe you are so shocked that they are available to buy? Have you never heard of google?! I looked at them at the beginning of the winter and spoke to a few UK companies that you can buy the 40ft kilns from But i didn't fancy the £50k+vat finance on it. If you want to front up the cash and buy one, crack on! If not, the logpro is a perfect solution!
  24. Didn't you say about a month ago on another topic that you sold wet poplar for £25 a load?
  25. I have a few of these and they are great for firewood. Ours look the same and hold 1.8 cubic metres level to the top
