  1. Been in the firewood game for a few years now and as all of you do work my bollocks off to get anywhere. I have never been threatened before for putting an add up on ebay! Not sure what this guys issue is but its bang out of order! first email: looking at the pics the builders bag doesnt look alot smaller than a cubis metre bag!! try putting them on the same size pallet aswell, im in the firewood game myself and just seems your slagging us and others off aswell selling in the builder bags, a builders bag is 0.8 cube. so if you want to play them games in slagging us off im going to do cubic metre bags for £70 free delivery and take all your custom, think about it before you write it, ps youll have no work for your new machine if you want to play that game, Second: fact a builders bag is 750x750x750 and that doesnt make 0.55 cubic metre in my eyes!!!! so you can stop slagging us off, the builders bag in your photo doesnt look half the size of the other one, ill give you a couple of days to sort this or ill make sure you dont get to use your new machine often thanks On my add on ebay i have put a picture of a cubic metre bag and a builders bag next to each other, and it does look pretty much half the size. Just to show people the difference. Not trying to slag anyone off but the amount of phone calls i have to explain to people ours isnt a "ton bag" and what a cubic metre is i just thought it might save myself some hassle. Now this guys cheaper than me, thats fair enough he can charge what he likes but to email someone threatening them with doing something to my machine that iv worked extremely hard to get is beyond me!
  2. Hi Maxwell, i had the Wx540 for about 2 years, an awesome machine and built like a tank! i put everything through it, big knotty oak the lot and not once did it fail to split anything. Never thought i needed the next one up!
  3. Yea i have been selling part seasoned at around 25-30% since december, just explain to the customer what it is and tell them clearly its not fully seasoned and pretty much no one has turned it down. Only knocked £10 off my normal price and its flying out, had alot of repeat customers asking for it too.
  4. Thanks Stuart, we didnt get off to the best of starts but from then youv been a star! brilliant at offering me any advise i needed when i was starting up! I wish you the best of luck in your new venture and im sure we will catch up one day!
  5. Got my vote for the WP, bough one back last year and its a great piece of kit!
  6. Another great load, cheers nick! So far cut and split 35 cube from the last lot and i would say theres at least 18-20 cube left! Really nice stuff
  7. £60 for a "bulk bag" in other words builders bag its about the going rate around here. Pretty much everyone on fleebay around here sells them too. I got so fedup i put an advert for a builders bag on ebay and in the description explained that the listing was just to show the difference in price between a builders bag and cubic metre bag, i quoted the builders bag load on offer was 0.5 cubic metre and for £60 you can buy this builders bag of mixed hard/softwood or in my other listings you can buy a full cubic metre of mixed for £85. I had tripple the watchers i have ever had in 2 days than the cubic metre loads and 2 people even bought it without contacting me before hand. So even if you put it in writing that its cheaper to buy a cubic metre they still buy a builders bag! I filled a builders bag the other day and have taken a picture if it next to one of our cubic metre bags just to try and show people the difference in size! I was shocked myself Fighting a loosing battle though i think
  8. I would however recommend Nick! The last load he dropped up was great
  9. ..... Yea, he gave me a load of 20"+ pop and oak when he said it was under 15" Ash! My fault for not going to look at it first but someones word means nothing these days. If the haulage didnt cost £300+ i would of taken it back!
  10. Another load delivered by Nick the other day! Birch and alder. Its reading about 28-30% when split. some nice stuff!
  11. I have seen cubic metre firewood nets before but cant seem to find then online anywhere. Does anyone know who does them?
  12. Hopefully will be getting some off him this weekend too!!!
  13. just wondering if anyone know's of anyone doing kindling in South Wales? My usual supplier has delivered me wet half full nets so not happy and need a new supplier. Can anyone help? Cheers Ash

  16. Yes i seen the post a few months ago but cant seem to find it. It was a metal griddle piece that fitted on the end of your processor convayor that filtered all the little bits out. Looked a great idea! Im trying to think of a way to do it without having to bolt anything on
  17. I have my wallenstein for sale on arb trader if anyones interested!
  18. The way cord prices are its getting to the point where im thinking of packing it in! Just seems like im working 7 days a week to pay the rent at the moment! Only stuff i can find is £78 a ton for hardwood and £40 a ton for softwood! Its only going to get worse. Crazy
  19. Yea i have tried them before, wanted £40t roadside for softwood because "thats what the biomass guys are paying for it"!!!
  20. Thanks for that Lyn, just called and its all gone!
  21. Im in pontypool, NP4 postcode
  22. Hi, I have been looking for some cord for a while now with no luck! Does anyone know of anything in South Wales or a good distance away? Forestry commision are boardering useless so cant be bothered with waiting around on the Welsh firewood framework contract! Just to satisfy the big suppliers that are not in wales?!? They dont have enough resorses to go and measure the wood so cant sell it to me, thats with me giving them 6 locations that wood has been piled up for over 6 months! Rant over... Softwood or hardwood at roadside, processor size if possible but would consider anything Cash waiting for 2-3 loads depending on price Cheers Ash
  23. We dont go much over 7-8" now rich, we were doing them at 10-12" and people were moaning it was too big! Can never please everyone i supose
  24. Its his wood so he can sell it to whoever he likes?!
  25. There has been about 4-5 people jump on ebay over the last few weeks selling builders bags and i have had a few 20 minute calls this week trying to explain the difference between our cubic metre load and a builders bag! Its gone abit quiet for us the last few weeks so Got so annoyed i put an advert on for a builders bag load on monday, 5 orders yesterday from new customers. All then going for the bigger cubic metre load when i have explained the difference but if i hadnt put the advert up they wouldnt of called in the first place. Unfortunately its a case of if you cant beat them join them sometimes!
