  1. But what was oil in 2010? Got upto 70p a litre around here! So there's no reason in 5 years time it won't be back upto 70p!
  2. Think there's quite a few other bigger issues going on that would mean we would loose the nhs and benefits that would slightly outweigh the income tax and corporation tax of the U.K kindling industry? And who pays corporation tax anyway.... [emoji12]
  3. What taxes don't up pay when you buy a container load of kindling from Europe that you pay when buying from someone in the UK? You still pay VAT either way.
  4. We are completely mental and have been for the last 5-6 weeks. Sold more in the last 3 months than I did last October/November/December!
  5. She was doing some 500mm softwood for the boilers for an hour or so then went into normal 10" hardwood. She loves the processor! Haha
  6. We are flat out! Had to draft the girlfriend in to do some processing!
  7. I've just gone from the Farmi wp36 to a posch 350 and log deck and would recommend it to anyone! It's a great machine so guessing the 360 will be abit better and a bit quicker too. The main reason I bought it was for the easier processing. We had a Farmi with manual deck and after being on it day after day processing it gets abit labour intensive!! And my right arm felt like it was going to fall off. At 26 shoulder problems aren't ideal! So yea bought a second hand 350 and new deck and wouldn't charge it! It's so easy to operate and you can put the quantity we need to put through it with ease. The only downside is it needs the correct timber!! The farmi can get away with bent big bits but the posch likes straight sub 12" logs! Which is perfect for us because that's pretty much all we get.
  8. That does look awful! Look how flimsy the knifes are, look like they are made of plastic! If you wanted something like that but better built I would look at the Farmi
  9. Right ok, that gives me an idea of what to work with
  10. How much are you guys paying for your vented cubic metre bags!? If I could do them for around the £8inc vat mark would anyone be interested?
  11. Jasp Wilson just took my Farmi WP36 in as a px so might be worth contacting them to see what they want for it
  12. Wheelie bins!! I like it
  13. I'm just wondering what dust extraction you guys use for your posch processors!? (or any other with s circular saw)
  14. Hi Jon, they took 12 days because they were split so big. About double the time of normal 10" split logs. Yes split from the centre of a split face! As it should be
  15. Yea it's just over really but we have done a per lorry load price. Hard to see on the pic but it's a big pile! It's all cut to 600mm and split big and kiln dried under 25%.
  16. A nice 50 cubic metre load going out today to a biomass customer. Another 50 to go next week and processing another load to be ready for him in a few weeks. Domestic sales are kicking off too, I love this time of year because everyone that calls are the "prepared" ones so want 3+ cube at a time.
  17. Like someone said oil won't be cheap for long! It will soon go back up. Most of my customers have bought log burners because it's a fashion thing rather than saving money. Most are just room heaters rather than heating the house and water too. The RHI biomass customers won't go back to oil because they obviously get paid to burn wood and not oil.
  18. I'm not sure the name but they are opposite made to measure. They have a few grab lorries, 32 ton and a few 20 tons
  19. The posch isn't being delivered until Tuesday so I'm not sure with that. We could do a full load of hardwood 26t with the farmi in 2.5/3 x 8 hour days with a manual log deck.
  20. Try the grab lorry people on the other side of the estate Chris, he's got a 32 tonner with a grab but your looking big money from Southampton. I'm guessing he will only get 10/15 ton on as well. Quoted £200 from us to Cardiff so probably £600/700 per load down there and back
  21. To be honest I just wanted something that didn't have a chainsaw. That was the only issue I had with the farmi, I went to see a duun working and the first go they had an issue with the chainsaw (they did say they fixed it later on) and I heard a few people saying they were having issues with the tajfun chains. Was just a running theme and a guy local to me had a posch 350 so went to see it and was impressed. Everyone seems to say good things about them so went for it. A lot of the stuff we get in and ever have had in is 12" and under so it's perfect. Anything bigger will just be left and cut and split when we are quiet!
  22. I've found sg baker the best. May not be the cheapest but their nets are strong
  23. Wilsons gave me a good px for my Farmi woodworks. I contemplated the duun, tajfun and a few others but went with a posch in the end after seeing one working!
  24. Great British summer! Stopping my chicken getting wet whilst camping!
  25. How is that misleading the public? We are telling them exactly what we are selling. It's then upto the customer if they want to buy seasoned or kiln dried from me at av 30% or under 20% or look for another supplier?! Its up to you to market your product at the moisture content you are selling.
