  1. Go on then
  2. I'd say you are mostly right cessna. I'm not telling people how they should live, but the more people there are in the world, the more difficult it will be to sustain it, along with everything else. There needs to be less people breeding. What would be your ideas on making this less of a problem than it is?
  3. We had prisoners and people on day release from the job centre ding work for the council as an option. They regularly used to put diesel in the strimmers or 2 stroke in the mowers. Some heavy repair bills later the council only have them do litter picking..
  4. Yes asis my understanding. You'd need a light 4x4 to pull one of them and be under 3.5 ton.
  5. http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=goods_vehicle_licensing_guide_opsgv74_01112.pdf&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CBwQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.dft.gov.uk%2Fvosa%2Frepository%2FGV%252074%2520Final%2520%2520Jan%25202011.pdf&ei=MV24Tv-WOc3Jsgasydm7Aw&usg=AFQjCNEfW9WJsbNeMnD6LE4K11DLIJq4rw&cad=rja is that what you were looking for?
  6. what keeping a pickup and a small trailer on your drive for free/what it costs to stay there, compared to many thousands more a year for a big enough / safe yard?
  7. Still cheaper than getting an O license approved yard, and then applying for an O license. Which are expensive ventures. If there wasn't enough work on the idea would be what you might call negative expansion and run at a loss.
  8. I've an old 2 horse honda engine / 14 horse kohler and can make a rolling chassis for either to be seated in easy enough, but where would I find a strong impeller suited for snow blowing? An auger would be an advantage, but not essential.
  9. Why not stick a snow blower on the front instead?
  10. My 4x4 ranger says Light Goods Vehicle on the V5. Thats the same, as it does not say commercial vehicle. You're right about credit cards. Not only have you to thik aabout paying the money back if you need it for repairs, you've to add interest to that as well.
  11. would that apply to my ford ranger day cab too? I could tow a trailer for work purposes and not need an O license? And other thing. Would carrying goods for a job count as hire and reward? Such as grass, plants or taking arisings away?
  12. Another thing. Once you've got more money, replace that speed merchant bike with a royal enfield fury. They look a lot of fun for 50 - 60 mph, rather than worrying about getting nicked all the time for going too fast I was only doing 90, Ocifer
  13. My 02 plate ranger day cab cost exactly 3000 quid, and its been great. It'll always get 25 - 30mpg empty or lightly loaded. If I use a motorway it''l do slightly more. Its not been bad on servicing, either. My only nag is it has a slight leak on the radiator, but water is cheap, and the passenger door lock sometimes jams. I'll get it fixed one day.
  14. I don't see how they can call it timber haulage if its your own timber you've just bought off some forester to take home and chop up. They said the same on dropping chopped wood in the back off too - they classed it as haulage. I had a similar argument over the same with insuring my ranger, because haulage is someone who has ordered a product, so its therefore theirs to be delivered and knows they want it. The general practice is make the trip, if they like what they see then its payment on unloading, if they don't for any reason, take it back home. I would not call that haulage, its not the same. Anyhow, they've blown my plans out of the water, if agri/gardening/forestry doesn't cover it now for tractors. It would have been a viable alternative to the unaffordable hgv / O license. A tractor with a 5 ton trailer is much more viable than a 1 ton pickup Mods - Please feel free to edit bits out this if you feel the need to..
  15. Ah, I thought it was over what you'd classify it as, not what fuel you ran it on. Yeah everything ran smooth for years vosa wise. I'd say in the last 5 everything has been regulated to death

    my new pick up

What about zena the warrior princess?
  17. Wrong. Don't they have a classification for obscure vehicles called Agriculture Horticulture and Forestry (AHF)? It classes them as a tractor type vehicle, and to be fair, arborculture is wingable toward horticulture - tending peoples gardens or a green space / tree with a chainsaw, and a vheicle to match. I think anyone who misjudges that as a transit can't be that clever, as its only a cab bolted to a frame, just like any other. So what if its not made of steel like a standard mog cab.

Is that monthly payment with interest? I'd like to know what it would be on your own policy at 19. I'm 25 next month and mine was 1200 for a day cab ranger. That doesn't look bad that toyota, much better than a girly mitsi. Its a shame they don't do a 3 seater day cab with a bench seat, as you can't fit much on a double cab back
  19. look online for one
  20. What eye condition have you got? Also what type of lenses have you been suggested? I first had solid lenses for my eye condition and they were murder so I didn't bother with them. My eyes always streamed so I couldn't see so good, and a spec of dust or something behind it, and it was like having sand paper in your eyes. 6 years later they have finally made glasses for me Job done
  21. What if you build your own splitter for commercial use? Its not going to be CE marked its it? I don't know where someone would stand with that. That looks a good splitter, but expensive for 800 quid
  22. unless the 4 wheel drive is both rear axles or they were adjustable suspension I wouldn't bother with it. My reasons are that like lorrys with twin rear axles with only one of em powered it'll get stuck in places with an uneven road surface, where the powered axle wheels will spin just mm off the road and the unpowered axle wheels sit on the tarmac. It looks good, though
  23. Thats their own fault. Not everyone is a greedy developer type. And even if theres an advertisement that it might be developed, it doesn't mean it will.
