1. Were you going to say stihl? I don't like their strimmers. They don't sit well for me or anything. Some of the newer models shake like mad at low revs, too.
2. I'd have one of them! It does look useful, and I've wasted far more than £30 on a night out I've not enjoyed so much, or come home with blood dripping down me.
3. Hi got my alpina in the house waiting for me when I got in from work. I put it on the garden, checked it over, put it together put some 2 stroke in the tank, fired it up and boom! right handside o the garden cut in less than a minute! It runs well, smooth power and it cuts very well, no wobbles or anything. Alpina star 45 off a shop on the 'bay. £50 pounds bought, £35 or so for delivery Now to find some work for it.
4. Its really good on straight grained easy split wood - it can split very fast. I find it awkward to sharpen with the fiskars sharpening thing. It cuts into it as I go.
5. Alpina were good stuff ( strimmerwise, never used anything else by them ) but they have discontinued the top of the range of their heavy duty line and replaced it with what I would describe as 2nd rate compared to what always was. I think its an austerity measure. So I have bought a Alpina star 45d strimmer, whilst I still can get one. I have bought it because most other strimmers I've used are either rubbish or just don't sit right. Can't stand stihl strimmers. If I had to depend on stihl strimmers I'd probably get put on something else, or be given the push. Thank you for the replies so far. It looks around £30 to get it to my house. Smiley face
6. Hi I've bought a Alpina star 45 strimmer and its in Essex and I live in Yorkshire. Its a treck to get it and someone at work said use nightfreight. I phoned them and they said one off deliveries are no good to us. SO, everyone name delivery companies you rate and I'll be greatful. Thanks. Luke
7. Why are you so set in stone with chipping it first? There is a wood chip pile up the road from me nearly as tall as my house. If you stick a spade into it, it will come out steaming hot! That is how fast it breaks down, and how unstoppable the process is once it starts. laying them out to dry with a forced air system or otherwise would be more costly, and the moisture would only seep back in, just like kiln dried firewood. Believe us when we say the best bet is to leave the small and twig wood over summer to dry, doing nothing with it, and then chip it as you need and store it in a silo / barrel or something else suitable . Otherwise you are wasting effort really. You could even be really clever and chip it straight into a silo with a auger and pipe and push it all the way to a pre burn chamber, if you were to build a rocket mass heater with one.
8. Hi jon. Can you use them shoks on fords? The shocks on my ranger pickup will go one day. As will the leaf springs
9. I would second that. Not only are they much more efficent, but they are also fun to make. There are various types with varying efficiency and fuels that you can feed them. Its all good, though.
10. Theres another listing on the go it states around 10 - 15 tons, but I think there is much less, as its been sat there for a few years. I would say there maybe 5. It has been bidded on before and went for about 150 quid, but alas.. The winning bidder did not pay up. Probably got there and thought meh I changed my mind hey.
11. Thanks for the replies everyone. It has cleared one or two things up. I am undecided, as I'll have a job and half explaining why I want an old tractor to the rents. Whats the score with insuring them for road use? It'll be well under 3.5 ton, so that and a mower / transport box won't bother vosa.
12. It should be used it for smaller diameter rounds. Not huge split pieces like that. The thin lengths were a doddle on the one I had before.
13. I bet you do. Not as much as the line of traffic behind you, though ! Does it have live drive on it? Whilst I wouldn't use it that often ( yet) it'd be something I'd be thinking about should I use it for mowing, or something. Its a shame they didn't think of it earlier.
14. Hi I am sure many have seen these before, but what do you think they would sell for if manufactured? [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UK1StsNv5n8&list=PLS2Ypv2WYwMRomPUYlajmqt4Rm-v5FRRr]chainsaw with stand - YouTube[/ame] I'm under the impression it would cost a bit more than a sawhorse stand like the ones for sale in machine mart, as to make one out of angle iron it would be a lot more solid than the pressed alloy that you see used in shops.
15. Do these have live drive, where if the pto is on it does not stop turning if you dip the clutch or take it out of gear, like some tractors do?
16. Almost the same at my house tonight. I scared them away, though
17. Good idea, but no. Theres county fairs around yorkshire. It would be nice to show old iron, rather than just go and see it. It would also be cheaper than getting slapped by the police for riding offroad, or riding like steve mcqueen away from them. Only time I give it any stick, really.
18. You would be in glasgow! Its just too far
19. Hi does anyone know what a reasonable price would be to pay for a well runnin TE 20 4 banger diesel? Been lookin for a bike for the summer, but trail bikes are few and far between round here and over priced and likely to be pinched, but nice ish looking 1950's tractor on the bay for £1000, from a reputable seller..
20. Your dog deserves a treat. My cat gets dreamies. Put your truck against the door. If they get the door open it'll touch the bumper and get stuck, and probably set the alarm off. Or a motion sensing alarm bike lock from J&S bike shop, tied to the door inside, when set and the lock move/little bump it will wail like a banshee, and wake the furry alarm up inside
21. It makes good kindle. But you wouldn't buy it as tree branches

You can't say that. Its been shown only 2% on benefits have never worked and have no intention of it. Unless you read le tabloids. It is the corporate wellfare state you should be annoyed with. They take billions, and don't pay what they owe. Any oo. Yes they watch this forum too, I would imagine. Along with Vosa and probably the 'elf and safety brigade. The police also keep an eye on it. Someone i used to see around town on nights out got a slap for heavy plant usage. He posted the pictures online..
23.
Hi I've seen them bulk bags on ebay. How much is in them, and also, how much more would you sell them for if split and seasoned? Bought a log splitter and loadsa nets for next years lot.

24. Did you spin around the opposite way after to balance the dizziness?
25. Hi there was a firm storing it at the old stanley tools factory for a time. I think they're still there. Ride up and see
