  1. So. Tacho aside. Would the same instance except, with a 4x4 2 seat pickup [2 high, 4 high, high and low box etc] doing the same be exempt from O licensing? I think it would, as dual purpose vehicles [ vehicles powered by and engine with the means to distribute power to all wheels, or if 2wheel drive, have passenger seats in the back etc] are seen as exempt - owing to their offroad and carriage capability so the 2.7t ( 3.5t for landrovers) rule does not apply, just don't go over your combined cab and trailer weight, plated trailer or not!
  2. No , deffo wrong about that. Thats relying on old fashioned conversion tables that I don't understand that well. Thanks for pointing that out. It would almost be a kilometer if I was to walk the area in that garden in a straight line, though. I have just looked on google converter ( much simpler to understand tbh ) it would take 10 of them gardens to make a square Km. Annoying thing is nothing seemed wrong with the wrong answer i got earlier. I hate numbers. If I look at lots of them for a long period of time, along with working stuff out, they change colour and disapear
  3. I love it. It is smooth, quiet and doesn't feel that heavy. Better than any modern saw I've used. However, its been sat in storage since I last spoke to you. I have been doing other things. I am thinking of putting a blanket over it to keep the cold away from it.
  4. Job done. nearly one square kilometer..I blew them into long piles, rode along side and raked em onto a tarpaulin and chucked em on the back and stamp it down, repeat along with blowing strays into the pile and 3 n half hours later, over two days, and two full ( netted sides n top so they don't escape ) later they're gone. I got 90 quid in the end. I worked it out o be around 12 quid per 100m/2. A few of them a week over winter would keep me earning..and aching. They're still falling off the tree but he is happy with the garden as it is, wants the back garden area doing next week and a few other odds n sods
  5. I've a job on tomorrow. The garden is 31m long and 25m wide. Blowing leaves into long rows n then rake / vacuum them up with a stihl mulcher vac, take the leaves away etc. £55-60 quid sound fair, I don't think it will take that long? I was working it out the same as for grass cutting at £15 per 100m2, but that seemed excessive so I dropped the rate - i didn't want customers to think I was ripping them off..
  6. surprised you've got that offer on to be honest, but its not as daft as it seems, now I've seen what you're on with. Good luck with it. Luke
  7. Hiya. Here is a hedge I cut. What would you have charged for it? I tried my new stihl hedge trimmer out on it, and its bang on. Oh and as for the bit at the top. I didn't have any ladders, its a job for another day when next door is in. It seems to take ages - I'm not that photoshop literate for resizing and lowering filesize tbh..
  8. Steering stoppers! Mine sheet me up the first time it did it. Now it no longer does. It still makes people turn looking worried. I think some rubber guards are fitted from the factory but they wear out.
  9. I've read all your posts, and you're all right in one way or another. but one thing I haven't seen a single mention of, is that there is a recession in full swing, and comodity prices have shot up for one reason or another. Fuel alone is a big issue. As commercial/ making a living entities, everyone are all victims of the property boom and bust, and holding up artificially high prices that has now put prices up on rent and overheads. One industry boom and bust can have a tragic knock on effect on many others, some that don't even have any direct link with another. Licensing for vehicles and equipment has also been taxed with the apparent need for repeated training, testing or certification blah blah. It all adds up. Something else that there is no easy answer to, other than close the borders, is that we live on an island, and there are too many people here, and can no longer support due to prefered business practice and government, and social trends. There needs to be a revolution, but the time isn't right just yet

    Help

Thank you. I hadn't thought of that, except it was a shame 3 land rovers and many others not made in england hadn't turned up.

    Help

I pulled a little jeep out of a mess near a river, I then got my own pickup very stuck afterwards, in the space of about 20 ft. Is there anyone with a narrowish tractor, prefably one with a loader in the doncaster / conisbrough area that could lift / pull my vehicle out from where it is. My mobile number is 07789 493866. Thanks. Luke
  12. I've been using a honda roller mower 476 ( I think thats the model ) and have been getting 25 quid per average sized garden ( a little over or under 10 x 10 mtr, that might take an hour to do. Sometimes 45 quid if the garden is double the size. Do you think that sounds about right? I've not been taking any cuttings with me, it goes in the green bin, and on another note - How much is a waste license these days, what are the implications of having one, and how much do tip sites charge for a few builders bags of grass disposal? Got a big garden to clear leaves off, a rake, bag and stihl blower vac thing.
  13. Theres not much difference in a dodge or ford F series Bed to your ford rangers and mitsubishi, and the rest. Its half a ft difference in length. Pay load wise, it might take 10% off. But its a trade off on load and ability to load / unload quickly.

  16. It is, but for some reason its the only place you see them. I'd have thought they'd become more popular now trailer licensing has changed, small trailer exemption being banished and that.

  18. Ezy-Lift Home I saw this a while back, and I have wondered if anyone in england has a system that works the same. All I've seen here are them piddling hoists that scragg the side or back of the body work with what ever you're lifting. They're not all much use for lifting something big, either.
  19. Everything.
  20. adrian flux insured me for 900 quid. F.Comp. landscaping - and associated work, own goods, self employed, and employed by others ( better than single place of work, really). Ford ranger 2 seater. 2 years no claims and I am 26 very soon. Yes it is well into daylight robbery, and even night time robbery also
  21. Ford ranger TD. I've got an 02 plate day cab with all terrain tyres and it averages 30 running empty, obviously less when full. Not that much less though, so it seams
  22. Hi I would like to buy the splitter and powerpack. Can you contact me on 07789493866. Thanks. Luke

  23. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3veiz8avmfk&feature=autoplay&list=PLB477F2E22970EF45&lf=results_main&playnext=1]Yxmannen på vedbacken - YouTube[/ame] This looks a clever idea. I've not seen any in a shop yet, though. Would any of you buy this axe over a traditional maul or fisker type axe? I reckon I would
  24. Whats that adblue stuff for? N 15000 ltr in a fortnight? Good god are you pulling a 40 ft plow or something? It seems a lot of diesel
  25. Last year I heard a trading standards officer giving a bloke selling wood off a tractor and trailer, at the side of a field a good talking to about putting weights on nets. The telling was " You should not do that as one bags weight can vary from time to time, and no 2 bags weigh the same for long, for the usual reasons. It is advisable to sell by volume or price a bag by its size. Sir" It was not far off Bawtry, near Doncaster - incase you were wondering.
