  1. A mate of mine used to go out on the lash on the weekend and instead of getting a taxi he would ring up for a takeaway and ask if they did free delivery,if the reply was yes he would walk through the door whilst still on the phone and say well if your going to my house I might aswell have a lift I got more stories than Jackanory
  2. A well paced methodical approach, good skills thanks for sharing
  3. Dad had this a couple of times over the years, once he concreted a row of pig pens, as he was finishing the owner said he had missed one at the other end of the farm ,it was never in the price and my old man refused the owner said either it was done or dad wouldnt get a penny, dad could see that it was easier to put it down to experience so did it a was paid . Dad had the last laugh as he only scrapped the loose debris off the top and the crete was only 2 inches thick he reconed that the worms were comming through as he ran the float over it I got a few more just like that one if you need a giggle ?
  4. Got all sorts or trees growing in pots in the garden, I put them out the front of the house for people to take F,O,C most end up being taken by the children on there way home from the day nursery at the end of the road. If just one of the hundreds Ive done over the years reaches maturity then it will have been worth it.

  9. I hear Ya Apbell What puzzles me is how the abbreviation W T F appears alot in one certain mods replies to threads yet that is also over looked Seems were all poachers turned game keepers
  10. IMO Its irelivent wheather a member only replies to their own threads or wheather he/she posts replies to other peoples. If Im wrong thou and it has been known I suggest that only members that have gone out of their way to produce vids, edit and post them for the world to pick to bits be the only ones with the right to be negative about other peoples efforts I like to see others work and wheather I agree with what they say or their choice of music I think its important that people arnt put off by the fear of being set apon. Maybe thats the problem maybe only people with high levels of confidence or think skin bother.
  11. The trouble is Matt IMO!- There has been a shift in the tools and techniques used by people in our trade over the last 70 years and the ability to work from ladders, free climb, fell, shock load etc is being lost and forgotten. When somebody like Daddio tries to re kindle some of these lost arts he is looked down apon by alot of our generation as reckless because he could have used other means or its not the familiar approach My question to the doubters is have they ever given any thought to how tree surgery was undertaken before we had all the gizmos that we have now become dependant on ? I have had the pleasure of working with a few real old timers and the skill and understanding of trees and timber humbling
  12. On the subject of being mislead! I was told today that Mr Bullman was starting a web site aimed at the tree industries in the Middle East. Apparently its going to be called Arabtalk

  22. What does it mean for the UK ??? Well if France and Italy go under the price of pizza and a bottle of wine should go down
  23. If he said 11" below then 11" below it should be
  24. I ask what the area is going to be used for and then advise on the depth necessary. I did a cedar tree in the middle of a lawn today and agreed with with the customer to grind the bowl to a depth of approx 8 inches below ground level, if it was to be a veg plot then I would have a different plan of attack. The trouble is some times a customer will ask for the cheapest option and the spec will be to grind just below ground level, if they change their minds afterward and want to use the ground then they may well forget the spec required at the time and asume the operator would grind them out completly just for kicks
  25. Get married Bob that will soon solve that problem
