  1. I ask what the area is going to be used for and then advise on the depth necessary. I did a cedar tree in the middle of a lawn today and agreed with with the customer to grind the bowl to a depth of approx 8 inches below ground level, if it was to be a veg plot then I would have a different plan of attack. The trouble is some times a customer will ask for the cheapest option and the spec will be to grind just below ground level, if they change their minds afterward and want to use the ground then they may well forget the spec required at the time and asume the operator would grind them out completly just for kicks
  2. Get married Bob that will soon solve that problem
  3. I want to moan about groundies that go into a trance when feeding the chipper and cant keep their eyes off the feed rollers until the last inch of brash disappears before feeding more in Can Stein bring out remote shock collars to stun them into action please

  5. Handy little machine I've had mine years and its been fine a few things to watch out for on them if your buying second hand and if they break then dont order the parts from husky a clutch from husky is over 1k or £180 if you know where to go
  6. Just buy a fridge and stock it with cans or bottles of soft drink for the summer 60p a throw, if that works out then in the winter buy the plastic cups with the hot chocolate already in it and have a kettle or water boiler. those machines are a pita and expensive this way there is very little out lay and no commitment.

  9. Hi Abigail please dont be put off using the forum as so many of the 12000 plus members are, because of the remarks of the few. As said though your question is broad and what your giving members to go on very limited, but you'll soon get the jest of things
  10. A type Mexican bread I think
  11. Toast is niice done on hot embers
  12. Tarmac is porus and flexibable and I think the saying "Grass doesnt grow on a busy road" might have a relevence to this topic, even pedestrians walking on Tarmac will stop weeds growing through but left un touched it will soon start to sprout weeds from the sub base. The bigger issue is compaction from the traffic either motor or human using said tarmac
  13. I think Skyhuck is the arb version of Claire Rayner and judge Judy Long live the Huckster
  14. I think its quite apt to call a new arrival a baby! bearing in mind the time we spend in labour to get them Well done

  19. Im not going to knock the nhs they cant get it right all then time but then who can ? My treatment recently has been Nhs and I cant fault it The fact that the x-ray didnt show the curved root is just one of those things. I think as a nation we should be proud of having the nhs where you dont have to wait in pain until you can afford treatment, MY TIP If your not on the books of an Nhs dentist ...dont wait until you get tooth ache to register. Its a bit like people we moan about that leave a dead tree until its nearlly to dangerous to climb before they ring up and want it done the same day.
  20. Not sure Tony but glad I had it out as they were trying to convince me to have root canal:thumbdown: When she saw the root she said the canal treatment wouldnt have worked

  23. well the lump has been there now for 10 months and I aint been feeling tip top for a while so booked in to have it pulled, the dentist tried to convince me to have root canal but I stuck to my guns and had it pulled . It took her half an hour becuase the root was hooked but it came out in the end and she then discoverd that the infection had eaten into my jaw bone guess I was right to have it pulled but not looking forward to the anasthetic to wear off as the socket was dry and she had to screw around with my jaw bone to get it to bleed. If you cant sleep tonight then log in to chat as ill probable be awake and online
  24. If the clutch was on its way out then I would have thought that it would slip under load and not have enough purchase to stall the engine
