  7. Did you film it?
  8. Bit of wind through them they will be fine. I've found that logs that get wet and dry out a few times are better to burn. If you let snow sit on the open face of a log it will ruin it even if you keep it till the next season.
  9. Needed a grab to pick me up off the floor when I looked at this we can get oversized cord for a good rate and thought about hireing it out as it made like a tank. Would need a huge amount of timber to feed it.
  10. We have a Jotul it took 4 of us to lift it in to place seems really well made will have to check over it now as it's two years old
  11. Certainly is bit of orange squash in the top just like they have it been out for a curry and had a few tigers taste like water after red stripe.
  12. Been sarcastic mate to many red stripe
  13. I am the ground crew and most of the time i can keep up but sometimes I can be crap actually most of the time. When I get round to it I'll post a vid of how we work so it can be pulled apart.
  14. To be fair every tree officer I've met has been sound
  15. Let me start out by saying I am not a climber but I have my tickets but prefer to be on the ground. That's not a productive climber yes he can jump around a tree but any one working at hight for years become fearless of falling. It's not just climbing it's cutting it to go straight in chipper or cord keeping an eye on ground crew if they have brash piling up come down help out and be back up before the chipper has run out of material. Then safety that guys just got a fall arrest harness on that would leave him helpless and after 20 mins of hanging in one of them it's getting serious. To be honest it looks sloppy nothing to praise him for as far as I am concerned
  16. Going a bit off topic, I always speak to our local tree officer before the climber gets in the tree so when some jobs worth says I should not be working on tree I can ring TO and he is forewarned. This approach has gained me the upper hand with awkward people many times.
  17. Had this conversation with our local tree officer laurel hedge in conservation area with 125mm + base and was told to proceed not a problem.
  18. Do it on a reasonable day rate and take your time you will either love it or hate it, I find it really relaxing.
  19. Thats weird see a 150 come by on a trailer today minus a right hand wheel and bent panel on the a49
  20. Best thing i did was put my prices up were selling more now than ever premium product ie ASH BEECH -20% MC is worth £130 a cube all day long. The time effort and money that goes in to firewood is a lot so charge accordingly.
  21. My advice would be if you want to remain friends is get a haulier then he gets a weight ticket. He pays you by the weight he gets it's the only way neither party will feel hard done by.
  22. Be interesting to see if it copes aswell.
