  6. Im still waiting for you to pick me up jon!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. It looks crap most of the ones I've seen die if I'm asked to pollard reduce a birch I try and get them to have it out.
  8. The only thing I can think of is get a good sized drill bit and drill a few test holes I know the trees a size but what elsa can you do.
  9. Good for you, use to do a lot of shooting but could not bring myself to shoot anything now must be going soft!
  10. Sounds like its the brakes piping off as you reverse most braked trailers will do it as thats how the brakes work. Im sure somebody will be along to explain it better than me.
  11. Are A plan not brokers I'm sure they use to deal with all our insurance needs. Ive found Aviva to be the most helpful but not had a claim with them so can't comment on that side of it.
  12. We have a few elderly clients that ordered 6 inch logs as they know they get more bang for there buck
  13. I think mine has the same engine apparently one of the best 3l ever made
  14. Sorry the comment was for the richest firewood merchant in Scotland aka briquette seller
  15. Big hardwood wind blow keeps you on your toes thinking about your next move
  16. My Rodeo has done 119 k starting to need a few things doing. If they still did a 3 l I'd have another in a hart beat.
  17. If that's how it was wrote it's a mistake I would not be stupid enough( some May differ) to think that. I recently had a middle age couple in a 600k house tell me how they were surviving on there pension since retrieving one a scientist the other a head teacher and could not afford to spend much having there yew tree shaped. I gave them a price they gasped I bid them good day and told them I hope to retire at 55 that's and the price reflects that some May think it's harsh but I've got better things to.
  18. Huck when we came home from Birmingham I thought I would have to clamber back up the ladder, but two people have taken the time to help us out with the business. One built and maintains our website and offers advice the other has helped me make decisions with my business. He told me not to mess about but tell clients as it is some get offended others completely get it. When somebody phones to invite me to quote for something I will say on the phone if your looking for the cheapest quote I'm afraid we're not the firm your looking for. As I mentioned earlier I went to look at a big landscaping job the guy seemed really down to earth him and his wife showed me round the estate and it just clicked what they wanted and how they wanted it upon leaving they handed me the other quote and said if you beat that it's yours. I took the gamble and added more on returned it we have the job. For years I've just muddled through but now I'm going to do what I'm happy doing we're good at it so I'm going to charge accordingly. It's working so far if it changes well I'll have to rethink.
  19. You fallen out with HP dealer
  20. I don't call it being negative just realistic. But yes I've learned one thing 50% of the people in this industry under value them selfs.
  21. Get out and do something elsa. If you worry about others you might as well do it now. There's lots of ways to win a Cliant been cheep ain't one of them.
  22. Never have never will got my day rate it suits me I've got work 50% say how much the others 50 % pay top money for a top job if I concentrated on just tree work I'd have to worry about what the market would take. I've just quoted for a huge landscaping job lots of tree work involved. I was 10 k more expensive and still got the job. Means I can pay the boys good money they work long hours and get the job done well he goes down the polo club tells his chums what a top job I've done another job comes along.
  23. How large are the trees I mean there could be a weeks work or a days work in what you described. Don't worry about what other quote I got stitched on a job this week 12 cypress 20 ft tall put half a day on it at £375 and some mug got it for 150 who cares
  24. Weights the problem though jon I'm on the limit a lot with the rodeo so as good as the toyota is its not for us. Plus locally every idiot seems to have an invincible and thinks there coolest thing since sliced bread. Tits
