    Have you ever tried putting v shaped material through knives it's not pretty any one buying kiln dried will expect a consistently shaped log you will end up with lots of little ones and lots of big ones. I'd break them down on the posh and have the magic at the table and put any oversize through that

    For the sake of 60 note you could buy yourself a saw horse that you stack them in and cut 20 3ft billets at the same time. It's the quickest way I've found

    I've got a lot of billets to cut for the coming season and I'm really considering one of the rotary saw type set ups looks about as quick as any thing elsa like the look of the auto cut but only takes a meter. I reckon you could put 2.5 m small cord through a rotary saw

    putting billets through a processor is slow and labour intensive i would think that you will soon get fed up of that even if others are doing it you will find that they don't get a lot done no matter how hard they work

    Do you really need to do that if there going in the boiler? That's going to be slow would be better sticking them in a rack and cutting with saw or bundling and cutting with saw I've not tried the latter but think it could be done.

    Yes a good machine but for myself I would need to buy a rotary saw to break the billets down it adds another 12 k on to the over all budget.

    Yep some of what I've been doing is 3 ft across it hard on the body 20 t or 30 as I assume your doing arb I'd go for the 30

    I've had this debate before and we tried it and you end up with logs that are over size and kindling. We charge a lot for our firewood so it's got to be high quality IE dry and quite uniform. Processor knives are designed to break round bits down not wedges best to have processor eating cord and a good bloke on splitter. You would be amazed at what we can do in a 10 hour day

    To purchase that machine you would need to be doing 1200 ton a year This IMO is not a stand alone machine it's just for doing oversize you would be twice as long doing small stuff. Big splitter and rotary saw would be more suitable I think. Why the opp just doesn't get a 360 and sort the load out is beyond me anything over 400mm gets cut into rings and through a good vertical splitter. We did 150 t of over size last year and this year will be 225 ton of oversize. It's not me that's standing at the splitter for days on end though.

    Used in lorry beds due to in longertiverty and impervious to water seems to have anti slip property's as well, it's got to be one of the best woods for keeping the fire in. You would not want to carry much more than a 12 inch square though. ( mull all have an orgasm when he sees two long words spelt correctly )

    No this is Kieron wood used in lorry beds your bairns would struggle to pick the offcuts up.

    I get stacked crates from local mill for a£10 each we mix it in our budget range

    One of the biggest firewood suppliers in the uk was started off a million pound grant off the goverment. Family's rich as we'll. Shame they have now hit on hard times

    I'm out on the bike on first light work hard all day and swim or gym in an evening more I bulk up the less power I seem to have. Still show most of the meat heads up though
