  2. I cope by knowing every time i fill a bag its 80 quid in my back pocket with two of us in the yard we do a lot of bags in a day. Yes i understand what you mean about variety but its still the same old same old yes jobs are what you make them but theres only so much satisfaction in cutting trees When landscaping you are creating a space for some they will show it off for others its a sanctuary getting in to the clients head and getting it just how they want it stops me from getting bored.
  3. i get bored easy
  4. nesting season i believe plays a large part may through to september is soft\hard landscaping season. Firewood trees landscaping keeps us busy all year
  5. If your going to spend that much why not just get a G F or Amazon which has a screw coming off a flail deck never going to get clogged
  6. OCTOBER NOVEMBER then feb for tree work
  7. Best be getting my address book out there's a lot of climbers that owe me a lot of rope.
  8. First layer of defence should be a silent alarm followed by lots of things to slow um down. Advertise the fact as we'll if they think there's a chance of been caught they all move on to the next place on the list. Doesn't hurt to let the local scum no that it's going to cause a whole load of trouble.
  9. If you go for a big machine you need big cord or it's not worth it. If I'm putting 15inch through the 12 way on the takfun you can do a bag in less than 10 mins start putting first thinings through it and your down to 3 bags an hour. I'm going to get another farmi for sub 8 inch it's got to be the quickest on smaller stuff. Just wish it had chain oil not hydro as breathing that in can't be good. Log sales are dead got 1 bag tomorrow
  10. Ive started a job that was completed by a rival company 5 years ago most of the plants failed. They planted yew in an agricultural hedge shame theres livestock the other side. The patio was layed on sand and sunk in the middle the pond only ever stopped two 3rds full. There is lots of paths and walling that was done by one of the lads that know work for me that are good. This company charged 120k for this work
  11. My accountants that good at advising that the queen gave him a holiday all joking aside mine has advised me on lots of things and been right but he is an accountant and consultant. Ive had others that just balance the books not worth there fee
  12. Some of the landscaping blunders I've seen this year do make me wonder. Turf over concrete it was doing really well:lol: Concrete post 3 inch in the ground Side gate nailed to a brick wall shrubs planted in there pots stump with 90 % 0f the roots grubbed out and 80ft euc stick still standing up
  13. An accountant saves you money a good one will guide you as well!!!!!!!
  14. Fair play organised there Johny I've been slack as most of the timber in the yard was harvester cut and been down a while.
  15. One of the jobs Im on at the moment the turf must of failed due to been payed on poor soil so they just turfed over the top of it
  16. Jessy ohh wait that makes me a hypocrite
  17. Existing soil could be used under the turf with a suitable membrane new soil should have been bought in thats heat treated for beds suitable membrane and 100mm of bark but this costs most developers are behind schedule and just throw any old crap in the garden. Makes me work as when the house is sold the garden looks awful and they want it redoing. Picked up 3 jobs this season from reasonably new houses with very poor gardens.
  18. After laying over 200 m2 of sand stone patio in the last 2 weeks gloves are looking more and more attractive
  19. Yep now I'm deaf half blind i always wear a helmet you only get one set of eyes
  20. Go see an accountant it will save you tut in the long run
  21. Like the slow frame shot at the end. All i would say is get them groundys to put a lid on
  22. I agree with cris billets need to be outside withe air flowing through them I had two artic loads of beech so 52 ton this produced around 72 cube of billets and cut has produced around 70 bags so about the same
  23. That's what I like about the Tajfun it's built like a brick outhouse of all the demos I had the taj was the most well built and thought out. Splitting chamber could do with been a couple of inches wider. There is a lot of electrics on it time will tell how these stand up to dust & damp. Thought the Cs100 would be a lot quicker than it is in the demo but this May be down to operator!!
  24. I agree with you Jon but where do the organisers draw the line it's a bit of an awkward one.
  25. There not cheep unless buying thousands if you want a small amount mca kingstone are the cheapest for a half decent bag
