  1. Make sure your sitting down when yo get the bill it will be well in to four figers i know:blushing:
  2. Tony if you check the info there is not a lot of truth in it sorry mate
  3. TCD when i was looking for a saw i considered buying a cheep electric one for billits but i can be quite hard on equipment and none of what i looked at would last 5 mins. You might be best off looking for an electric rip saw like they use on building sites sorry i can not do links but there is a few good ones on E BAY:001_smile:
  4. 6 inch wolf here with operator for £225 + travel over 15 miles half days pos
  5. We sell a lot o 4ft billits to people who want to cut it to length quite funny watching little cars go off down the road with the front wheels off the ground.
  6. My supplier has just dropped a load of cord off that ranged between 5ft and 16ft it was cut by a local estate that had very little idea of the firewood game but it was £36.00 t but we only got 14 t on an 8 wheeler the drive was not a happy bunny. If you want to sell your cord at a premium cut it to what the lorry drivers want as in this game they tend to have the upper hand. 8ft and 16ft are the standards up here and 12ft for beach
  7. I am about to buy a ford4000 to use as a yard tractor as our compact will not lift what i need it to. Does anybody know what a ford400 with power loader would be worth in average condition.
  8. Steve this has appeared below my user details Thanks Thanked in posts. or something like that .
  9. No worry s the boss would of blown her top at me buying another saw.
  10. How much are you thinking?
  11. Nice set up you have there is that a 20 or a 30 t horizontal in the background is so how do you get on with it what size timber do you put through it .
  12. Please can you tell me why an 8 wheeler load of ash and cherry that is seasoned in the round ive been cutting it today and its down to 22%mc between 4/ 14 inch i am leaving the rest in cord and cutting when ive run out as this was suppose to be next years. I will say the harvester ripped most of the bark off the small stuff.
  13. Keep your eye on Brightwells in Herefordhire as they have a lot of Telehandelers go through at very reasonable money as they do a lot of reprocessions for the major banks and they go for very little money. If you look on line it will tell you some past sales prices on kit. Sorry don't know how to do the link.
  14. What price were you quoted as a recent thread on here said they started at about 8k and went up to well over 1o which seamed a lot for that machine. It was a good idea though.
  15. Riko and posch are in different leagues and you do get what you pay for by the time you add the extras on to the Riko you are into 4500 well Posch are advertising there 30t for6500 on the Jasp Wwillson site. I've been looking for a second hand 30T +for ages but there like hens teeth.
  16. Yes we are into the billet system i was thinking of having the horzantal to break the big stuff down then put it through the magik to finish off to size. Then they are stacked round the outside of the field with the top three layers facing up and bought in as needed to dry any rain off. I do half the stock in billets and the rest in 10inch logs into vented bags or into arris fencing made into cubes. The thing is next year i am moving to a farm where i will have a 60 by120ft barn to use so the processor does sound good as ill have the use of the loadall to load processor then load logs into trailer. In an ideal world i would purchase both but i can not afford to do that.
  17. I am hoping to double what we do this year so around 350 t. Its panning out to be a good year all ready and winter has not started yet. I want to start trying to shift softwood next year as ive had a few enquiring about it
  18. How do you think it worked loose. Did the groundy feel it go.
  19. What i am thinking jon is all the big stuff which we can get cheaper can be put through it with a 6 or 8 way knife.
  20. Worrying! How big was the peice
  21. Both:blushing:
  22. Ive been thinking about this for a while ive put up with a splitter but now were doing quite a lot of timber between 160 180 t. I hire a processor in so know what that's capable of. I just want to hear from people that have had 30t + splitters. Thanks:001_smile:
  23. B o 2 is the dogs danglers
  24. I am interested to hear peoples views on big horizontal splitter as i don't know weather to get a big horizontal or a processor. Things like. True output. How much waste do they create when splitting. Are they been used in commercial operations in the uk . Thanks Mike
