  1. Ive got a couple of 201s and i can not fault them. Me climbers been in the game for30 years and he reckons there just as good as the 200. Ive noticed the chains do not like been run to tight as it seems to slow the engine down. Take the bar and chain off and see if it still does it.
  2. Yes but somebody will so why not make money out of them and charge a premium that way they can not be cheaper than you. I bought quite a lot of cord last year and sold it locally at a premium meaning i was cheaper. Mind you maybe i should of kept it as everyone seams to be cutting soft for biomass.
  3. Hi David Did you get the birch we talked about to road side cheers Mike
  4. The one with the petrel hose still in cracked me up. Quite scary.
  5. All right Neil give us a ring and tell us what you got and ill give you a fair price. Plus when the landscaping kicks off in March there will be stone work or or paving to do.
  6. Shot one with a 12 bore at 20ft and cut it clean in half the front ran off and kept going for a good 100ft tough little feckers.
  7. At least ill be able to get my hands on the timber now the shoots are coming to an end dam keepers worrying about the noise of equipment frightening his birds.
  8. Business is business i hate to say it but money comes first with most people and if by cutting someone else out makes them more they will do it. Do not tell anybody until you got a contract in place. I learned this the hard way just like you:blushing:
  9. All elder does is shade other hedging plants and in the end takes over. Ive just completed a hedge where it was growing every 1om and had shaded the thorn out . Plus it looks awful in a neatly laid hedge all the farmers i have ever worked for say they want it out and replant with quick.
  10. Hi Nick Ive exhausted all my local supplies so am starting to look further away could i have ash and birch or does it have to be a mix not been fussy just got lots of oak. ill pm post code
  11. Good advice there pat . All this talk of ringing the to then taking days off really gets my back up and will get you no where. When you do ring do it in the presance of your boss as he will gain respect for you in the long run and know exactly what you have said and will realise your trying to cover yourself not cause trouble.
  12. Exactly what i thought. Very short sighted way of doing business.
  13. ISEKI SXG sxg will collect when the deck is submersed that why i bought it . Ive had a Ferris mulcher and i fully understand how to mulch and what time it saves but it will never leave a finish that a good collector does. Plus when we get called in to do a new clients the grass is fairly long if we mulched it would look a mess they would not contract us . Mulchers come in to there own when its warm and dry and your just knocking the top off even the manufacturers admit this:001_smile:
  14. And guest house and hotels Hello sir please remove your shoes and put some slippers on to enter out 5 star hotel
  15. Try telling that to clients with £200 a square metre carpets that think there going to have grass dragged in on shoes and ruined. On the upside ive won a lot of contracts from firms who will only mulch as they blaze in once a fortnight and leave it looking like a hay field. With the weather predicted to get wetter in this country mulching will become less easier ideally you need short dry grass, most of our cutting in the past year has been done in an inch of water .
  16. Second grade hardwood ie alder lime birch 10 m3 £700
  17. Get a direct collect iseki, etesia, kubota, john deere diesel pref with a high lift the mower your looking at is a good mower but it will drink fuel. I went from petrel to diesel and the mower paid for itself in under two years in the saving on fuel alone.
  18. Get real all big ground care contractors have an Etesia hydro80 and iseki sxg19 in there fleet the 80 will go through a garden gate and has a good turning circle the 19 will cut collect with a fine finish. I have all so got a hydro 100 which is an awesome mower do your homework before you say something is crap not just what fred down the pub said.
  19. Just bought my second lot and will be buying a third lot come on lads 7500 is on the cards if we all dig deep.
  20. Where in the country are they i can supply 20m3 of beach ash sycamore mix sub 20% mc £90 m3 as its a bulk order i am in the West Midlands i can get haulage sorted but need a post code.
  21. Once a year sod all comes out of it then
  22. Where in west Wales and what is the average size of stump.
  23. I have a hydraulic splitter that all the big stuff goes through and an eagle saw bench with a cone splitter on that i put all the sub 8 inch stuff through if its straight and clean the cone splitter is very good just got to keep it sharp. I have had some bits spin on me and it does wrap your knuckles a bit.
  24. Lawn flite are ok aimed more at the home owner market more. Look at the working position on it, you would spend most of the time bent over or crouched. All the machines in the pro or semi pro range are designed so the operator does not have to bend down. To the op Riko do some good machines and there in your price range jim off here is a sales man for then so you may even get an arbtalk disscount.
  25. Had a tri axle go when we first started up in business it had the previous owners post code stamped under the sides, a couple of months later i was at one of the larger auctions and came across a trailer that had the same bit missing [dents:blushing:] as the stolen one. Took the sides off and there was the old post code the auction house were very good and after i proofed ownership they delivered it back to me. It had been traded in to a dealer and all the info the seller used was false. So keep your eye on the websites of the big auctions it might pop up somewhere.
