  1. How old is your machine? new machines use a harvester type bar. Old machines can be changed to the harvester type bar with a kit, or you could convert a harvester bar type back to the older orgegon bar with the lift wedge on top. What is the problem you are having, bar wear? If you have the oregon type bar the code for the bar is 138slbk095 and you also need the lift wedge that is only available from Farmi.
  2. Hi Dave, I have already asked for a price on the electronic proportional control. I will ask also for a remote control price. With regards to taking off the valve and fitting to a new crane, no issues, its just a normal valve on the hydraulic end of it. Normal flow and return for the hydraulics, then 12V (usually though the sidelights on a 7 pin trailer socket). The crane end you just connect the pipes as normal.
  3. Forget going with electronic controls unless they are proportional. Non-proportional controls make a crane unusable. Going with a hydraulic servo control means that you will have a bundle of small hydraulic pipes and the actual control joysticks will be much lighter. For about £2800+vat I can supply a valve that has hydraulic servos for the 2 main joysticks and electric controls for the legs and aux (extension and grab).
  4. Yes, Pilkemaster is the name in Finland.
  5. Thankfully not! Did you know that Farmi Forest is part of the Normet group who make mining equipment. A really great company to deal with (and huge!)
  6. Hi Tommy, I would take on board what woodworks and biggarlogs have said. It certainly tallies with my experience. I think what Billy was saying must have got confused with something else, because going through 3 chains a day would certainly not be normal! To be fair, its a bit naughty for Farmi to put a sticker where it should say Agromaster! We leave the serial plate as it is.
  7. Hi Tommy, who was it who demonstrated to you? I typically get a day out of a chain easily before a sharpen. They do not need to be sharpened on a machine, but it does make it easier to get the angles right. Oil use is approx 1 litre per day I would guess, so really not a big expense.
  8. Hi Craig, sorry, I hadnt realised it was you. Definately go with the 3 ton mini digger. It will do all the work a loader will do on an alpine (they arent particularly capable and also compromise the inherant sability of the alpine) and far outdig a backhoe on an alpine. It will also outdig the backhoe on a kubota. It might not replace a loader on the kubota, but you could get by with the digger. I have a 3 ton digger, it will lift a bag of ballast (just) close in, 800-1000kg. My little kubota digger cost £4k, but really say something tidy and reliable say £6-10k?
  9. There is alot of difference between a billiard table and the laws of physics. We have been working on clearing a 25 degree slope using a 1.5 and 3 ton mini with no major issues. The biggest problem is getting the grip on the tracks to drive uphill. usually have to push yourself up with the bucket.
  10. I think you have a few ideas floating about at the moment and possibly arent looking in the right direction yet. If you are looking at an alpine then presumably you need it for slope work? In which case mounting a loader and a backhoe is going to seriously compromise its stability. But then a kubota wont work particularly well on slopes even without a loader and backhoe. What are your actual requirements?
  11. Alot of this about at the moment. Grab stolen from the Petersfield area of Hampshire. There are only 3 of these units in the UK, and this one is unique in a small way. Keep your eyes out.

I have a tractor and 5' flail and a tractor and 4' rotary cutter, but neither will go below ground.
  13. So what are you going to do if it goes wrong under warranty or you need technical help?
  14. We have had some customers we gave quotes for expecting a decision next week, while others have been told the end of July.
  15. Hi Chris, East Anglia. But who knows where it will turn up! Its on a road kit we make ourselves, so even if it goes to Europe it'll be more unique over there.
  16. To be honest, its the first one of these I have heard of going walkabout. Hopefully it will turn up!
  17. I have been told that one of our customers has had their WP30 processor stolen, with road tow kit and petrol engine. More details to follow, but please be aware
  18. Thats fine, you just have to pay the German vat rate. 19%?
  19. Hi Matt, try Green Plant in Guildford. 08452 600119
  20. Hi guys, trying to get hold of Iain at Rivenwood coppice Rivenwood Coppice - Contact Has anyone heard from him for a while, or know anything? Thanks Jim
  21. I think he is in Leicster/Notts? If anyone wants in Hampshire area I can help, 4' topper on a compact, 5' flail on a slope mower, and 6' and 8' on a larger tractor.
  22. There is a quiet period in the national shows during August. But then thats a busy time of year for other stuff!
  23. Technically the chains must be attached to the butt plate when skidding to avoid damage to the brake, I think the manual states this. However, I know many of our customers skid with the logs hanging on the brake and we have never had any brake issues. Make sure you dont get any oil on the brake band though, that kills it pretty quickly!
  24. Yep, its over 750kg, which this spec of processor now is. There is another version in the pipeline that will just come in under so it doesnt need to be braked and you dont need a trailer licence for. All trailers, braked or unbraked need the type approval though.
  25. Retail prices start at £8900+vat, but there are often deals to be had!
