  1. I have sold a couple of the small felling heads into Ireland, but they dont seem to be taking off in England so much. Naarva do make some cracking equipment!
  2. I have more information The engine does run on a little, it you rev it up, then drop the revs it will continue at higher revs until you put the engine under load then it will die back to idle and continue to idle until to rev it up again. The seals that were replaced are shown as part 10 in the drawing on the link Link And look like the 2 o rings in the picture in the link below (note, not my engine and they dont look 100% the same, but its the only photo I could find on the net!) Link
  3. Hi Marko, thanks. No lift pump on this one, its got an electric pump. That was my idea too! I'm thinking some seal in the injection pump, but you dont go taking that apart until you know what you are looking for! Thanks Jim
  4. Hi guys, I have a machine with a Kubota V1505 4cyl diesel engine on it. Had a call today from the guy that runs it saying it is pushing diesel into the sump oil when running. The seals on the 4 'plungers' that bolt in the top of the injection pump have been replaced as it was leaking diesel from the top of the injection pump. That problem is solved. Any ideas what could be causing this? Its a new one on me! I'm not with the machine and have very limited time with it in daylight, so hopefully I can gain some ideas of things to look at to best make use of time when I am there or get the guy who uses it to check it out. Thanks Jim
  5. Is it possible to have it set up so you can reply to the email to message the person back? So I can do it on my phone, becuase signal here it too bad to log on to arbtalk on my phone browser! Or is there another way to PM people that doesnt need you to go on the main site?
  6. Bear in mind that due to the gearing effect of the cable on the drum the winch is more powerful when the cable is further out, so as you winch in the line speed will increase but the power decreases. I believe some manufacturers indicate a winch pulling power with the cable all the way out, whereas some rate them as an average pulling power. Same with line speed.
  7. Just checking its working OK now? I've still got the latch I replaced on my desk but never seem to find the time to call to check thats solved the problem!
  8. It can be done, but a forwarding crane is lacking the 'bucket' cylinder that a digger has. So the cone splitter would be dangling from the end of the crane and there would be less control. No reason why it wouldnt work though, or you could make a basic ram and linkage to offer you the control. What sort of hydraulic flow and pressure would you have?
  9. The M2 in the pictures needs 45+lpm, so would be spot on with your skidsteer. As you can see its doing well on 1m timber! I'm in Hampshire, but delivery no issues. I'll PM you a price in a mo.
  10. Ah Ok, yes, I've not got any customers over there! Can supply to you though. Most of what I have done is hardwood, but have also done some fairly well seasoned softwood about 1m diamter. To be honest, it will probably eat it for breakfast. The only time I have had problems is when the wood is saturated or rotten, and then the tip just cant dig in. You will have a bit of downpressure on your skidsteer so you can push it down a bit to get it started, once its bitten into the timber you are away. Its quite a steep angle on the cone, so once they bite its going to work. Some of the cheaper cones are much smaller so I can see they might just drill a hole and not split. In the pictures is the M2 4.0k model. Cone is about 60cm long, 30cm diamter for scale. Do you know the specs of the hydraulic aux circuit on your skidder?
  11. Where abouts are you? They pretty much do what they say on the tin really, I demoed one last week and it just crunches through what you put infront of it. People who I was demoing to placed an order. The only consideration with a skidsteer is that you are going to have to skid about to position the tip into the wood, so it is going to be quite hard on your tyres. I have customers with them on telehandlers who are very happy so I dont think that is a particular problem.
  12. Hi Tim, hope you are good. Johns near Fernhurst, decent guy! Does all the fencing materials for Goodwood I think. Havent seen John in a while, hope he's doing well
  13. That was a 3m long split. Thats about the longest we do, any more than that and they are difficult to transport.
  14. Far too heavy for linkage, weighed about 6 ton! It has pallet slots in the middle for a telehandler. The linkage is so it doesnt flip when the PTO is driving it. Needs about 140HP. 60 ton, biggest in the UK. I have lots more pictures of various big splitters we have supplied, but I'm not sure the OP is looking for anything quite that large!
  15. Is it a competition?
  16. What is your budget?
  17. Hi Peter, sorry, only just saw this. For the grab and a mecahnical swivel you are looking at £1000+vat. That would be with a basic rotor (ie hydraulics for the grab dont go through it, pipes go from the grab straight onto the dipper arm).
  18. Ok, no problems. I'm not 100% sure on the weight, I would guess about 70kg maybe. It opens up to 110cm tip to tip. Jim
  19. Hi Peter, do you mean like the green grab only? Yes, we can sell just that, either with a manual swivel, or a hydraulic rotator. We have sold a few for people to hang of the end of diggers, though we sell more conventional type grapples for this. These grapples are designed for take side load as they would when skidding. Jim
  20. New tracks fitted by the previous owner 50 hours ago. We will have to wait till summer to get up there even with new tracks though. Did you mention a ballpark price for your selector grab? Thanks
  21. I just bought this a few days ago. With extended blade and boom, its got a serious bit of reach! Got about 5 acres of steep ground to clear of scrub, so deciding between rake with fixed thumb, rake with hydraulic thumb, but also really like the demolition grab! Always wanted a digger and could pass on the price of this one not as shiny as you guys ones though!
  22. Perfect, and you have forks to fit it on already?
  23. Hi Johny, have a lightly used beak in the warehouse, will email you tomorrow if I get time, I see you have sent an enquiry through. The beaks are for mid-full size loaders really, too big for small compacts. Ty, that skidding grab is one of ours, ~£1200+vat new to fit on a cat 1 linkage on your AGT (there is also a larger one, but too big for your AGT)
  24. I usually let them have their say, then when they are ready to listen put forth my opinion. Most of the time they will consider it and sometimes you can bring them round to your way of thinking. If they still insist, either walk away or make sure you have quoted right! Of course sometimes with particularly rude customers you need to have a very thick skin to let them have their say! Fortunately most people I come across are actually great people, even if they are wrong! You must remember however, that you cant be right all of the time, so consider their opinion too!
  25. Ooh, what do I win? We supply the INO mowers, sell plenty for use on reversible alpines. Good mowers, with double spiral rotors so work well on thick material with minimal power consumption, but also leave a good finish on grass. To be honest £2750+vat doesnt sound bad, they are at the higher end of the price bracket but you do get what you pay for I guess. Just make sure you get one suitable for reverse drive (different to front mounting) and from someone who knows alpines.
