  1. Spare bar and spare chain, maybe a spare lifting wedge (the bit on top of the bar on the Farmi). No belts to wear or burn. 13mm spanner and flat screwdriver for changing the chain. 2x 19mm spanner for tensioning the conveyor if it needs it.
  2. Hi TCD, I dont think they are all made in the same factory, but certainly there are alot of similarities in the design. Uniforest definately build for themselves, but I'm not sure those other brands come out the same factory? Uniforest tend to push forward with new designs, whereas the other brands have alot of similarities to the older Uniforest designs with a few changes. You'll find that Uniforest do make machines that are sold under other names, a prime example being AMR winches, which are the older design of Uniforest winches, made by Uniforest but improted through France with a different name. The guys at the factory at Uniforest are brilliant, delivery times are excellent and the backup is great.
  3. Hi Daniel, just a quick reply, but I'll drop you an email tomorrow. Pretty sure that should be run at 400 or 350rpm on the PTO (cant remember for sure will have to check tomorrow), there should be a sticker by the PTO drive and also in the manual. Jim
  4. Hi Daniel, Last time I spoke to you a pipe had gone and I asked for the invoice for the repair pipe to settle it for you. Are you sure that you are running at the correct PTO rpm? Overspeeding could cause all the faults you have suffered (apart from the pins breaking, but I have a solution to that). What speed are you running it at on the PTO? Lets check that out before we start looking at things deeper. Let me know that and we'll talk tomorrow, right now I've just got in from 10 hours driving a digger and I desperately need a beer! We sell alot of log splitters, and occasionally problems happen. We would appreciate the opportunity to try and sort things out before posts like those are made. Especially when sometimes they are caused by simple things that are easily solved. We do try our best to sort things out as quick as possible. If you arent getting satisfaction on emails call us, 8-5 monday to friday. And if you PM me here I am sad enough to probably see it outside of those times too.....
  5. I work for a firewood/forestry machinery dealer, so I'm here to make sure we are doing a good job!
  6. Hi Hedgesparrow, nice to meet you, sounds like you have a good day at the show. We had a Farmi WP36 PTO processor there. Retail at £7000+vat. Prices start at about £5500+vat retail for the 12" machine, for that you get power infeed, chainsaw cut, 2-4 way splitter and a slewing output conveyor. Should have a hire machine sorted soon, or Green Plant over in Guildford have a road tow petrol WP36 availablefor hire at the moment. For you guys further north Spectrum plant have a hire machine, and Orange Plant are about to have a small fleet of them delivered as well. Hi Richard, the road tow 18 ton machine retails for about £4k+vat. Give me a shout if you need further detail or to batten down a price. Out of interest, whose one did you try?
  7. Hi Dave, for an additional £150+vat the factory will fit a 3 point linkage to the petrol engine driven version. Fits cat 1 and 2. Its actually in the pricelist, just never noticed before! Jim
  8. Hi Dave, it should be possible to supply a petrol machine with linkage. I am just working on seeing what the additional cost would be. Just FYI, the PTO version is slightly quicker than the petrol version. The electric model is the same speed as the petrol roughly, but it is quiet! I wonder wether the dual PTO/electric might be best of both worls for yerd work and portability, but it does depend entirely on what is going to suit you best. Jim

    help please

What is your budget? Might be able to help.
  10. Thanks guys, sounds like I need to get one of the 3 legged ladders then! Hoping to catch up with hedgesparrow to give one a try then off to try my bargaining skills at forest and arb. Just bought a flail for the tractor too, so hopefully that will cut down on what I do by hand aswell.
  11. Thanks, are you talking about the ones like FR Jones sell? ladders I have PMed you hedgesparrow, always good to try before you buy.
  12. Looking for a new latter for big hedges, can anyone recommend one? Unsure about the 3 legged ladders, are they stable enough to wave a longreach about from them?
  13. To the OP, splitter choice depends on the type of timber you are working with and to some extent personal preference. I would normally recommend a vertical splitter with a waist height table for splitting rings, and a horizontal machine for 1m long billets. But by far the biggest factor is budget, so let us know what you are thinking of spending and we'll go from there.
  14. It is a legal requirement for every new splitter to be sold with 2 handed operation. If you have found one for sale without this feature it should be reported to HSE. There are also other regulations like anti crush on the return stroke. If you convert a machine yourself to 1 handed operation then you become liable for any injury to yourself or anyone using the machine.
  15. That looks plenty on there, the 1.8m would have been way too big!
  16. Hi Rowan, they are up in Coleraine, primarily a boat dealer but have taken on the firewood equipment from us and have a processor in stock to demo. Hanna Boats Jim
  17. Hi Moher, we now have a dealer for the Farmi WP processors covering Ireland. Ivor Hanna, 02827 662212 Jim

  19. Hi all, I have been contacted by someone who has some cedars they want milling into planks and beams, I believe from the Southampton area. They want it sawn in 4.2m lengths. If anyone is interested send me a PM and I will put you in touch with the customer directly. Cheers Jim
  20. Hi Steve, did you not get my email last week with details of the CLA gamefair after you called? Thats about the closest to you at the moment, or you can make a trip down to us? We tend to sell direct to offer the most competitive price although I am building our network of dealers. Jim
  21. Yes Jon, go every year for a few days. Never seen it all!
  22. Hey Chris, nothing changes at the Red Lion... You should come down for the Sat night do at Weald! Hi Difflock, yes, built in Ukraine. There are no markings because its used for film work. 14 litre V8 diesel, its a noise that every man needs in his life! This is the one I came so close to buying. I actually had the cash in hand but had second thoughts....
  23. He said I could keep it in his field at the yard! Have you heard about his new lorry? 18 tonner with 16 ton drag. Barely get it in the yard! He still wont get a hiab though....
  24. Hi Jon, not particularly expensive considering how much metal you get for your money! Like any big vehicle expensive to run though.... £2 per mile in diesel alone :-)
  25. Hoping this will be mine soon. Worked out a deal on another one but I had second thoughts and pulled out.
