  1. Hi Ashes, if you get a new shaft for the saw make sure it has a shear bolt in it. If you just need another shaft I can supply those too! To get a longer shaft is very cheap, so we tend to get them on the long side as they can always be cut, but you cant make them longer! Jim
  2. Hi Steve, Carl Stacey, Oakhanger forestry, unimog with big remote control crane. 01420 473542 Jim

    Chipper ID?

Hi Pete, yes, seawater immersion. This and a few other machines. Im not sure if the machines went to the sea of the sea came to the machines!
  4. Hi Richard, usually use the breaker line to turn the rotator, then put quick couplings in the bucket ram (as it isnt used with the grab) so that when you are using the grab you plug those lines into the grab and use the joystick to open/close the grab.
  5. The factory are currently running a competition, holiday in Slovenia as the first prize. All you need to do is post a picture of your winch working in the woods on their facebook page to have a chance of winning.
  6. Speaking to a forestry contractor the other day he has had all 6 of his 261s back under warranty several times. I think it would be one to avoid. I tried a 261 but ended up with a 362 as the 261 seemed to have problems. Very pleased with the 362, have a 16" bar which it is the absolute boss of, and also have a 25" bar for it which I seem to use much more than the 16" and it copes with in softwood. 362 also comes standard with 3/8 chain whereas the 261 I think is standard on 325, although can be changed obviously.
  7. Its for a private estate. But every industry faces competition, you just have to be the best!
  8. Its full of trees ready for chipping, not chip as far as I can see over the bank!

    Timber lorry

I think we are looking at new, so its a case of where do you buy a new timber truck? I'm guessing you dont just walk into your local MAN truck dealer? Are there specialist timber truck suppliers?

This one has been under seawater! I have to estimate the repair costs. Timberwolf came straight back to me and directed me in the right direction, so lots of thanks to them.

    Timber lorry

I have just had a customer phone me up looking at getting a timber lorry with crane, maybe about the 16 ton mark. I have no experience with this size truck, anyone know the best place to direct them?
  12. Does anyone know what chipper this is? I think an Entec Chippit maybe? Are parts available? Thanks Jim
  13. Hi Guys, any of your Farmi WP36 owners out there want to hire your machine for a week or so to an estate in Dundee? Got someone who wants to try before they buy! Thanks Jim 01420 487300
  14. According to the VOSA inspection manual for the IVA test the coupling height for type 01 and 02 trailer (I think anything up to 3.5 ton) the following applies "With the trailer horizontal and resting on a level surface, coupling heads must be attached so that the coupling point of the trailer is 430+/- 35mm above the ground."
  15. I wish! This is the first day without rain here since probably November
  16. Are all these problems with 90s? My old 90 towed very poorly compared to my 110 now.
  17. Have sold a couple. They do what they say on the tin really! They are a little limited, but they are better than having nothing for lifting! One of those things that once you have one you find 100 uses. PS, dont know if you go my email, your winch arrives monday.
  18. An idea of size of one of these trucks against my landrover. So much fun!
  19. Did you go the IVA route for the type approval?
  20. Its because people take dodgy shortcuts like this that HSE has to exist! Its just as easy to get a 16A socket installed in your workshop and then you can use that for welder etc. In my workshop at home I have 16A sockets installed then most things use them, they are much more robust than the 3 pin plugs! Also then can plug straight into a generator for site work.
  21. FYI, on the Riko A11, the electric version has exactly the same splitting force on the ram. The splitting time is a little faster, but the return time is a little slower. Ideally it wants a 16A socket rather than a 13A 3 pin and wants to be on a short lead. Electric motors are obviously much quieter than a petrol and have minimal service costs. TCD, yes, 6HP now, but has a dual speed pump, so no load cycle time is faster but its a little slower on harder woods. On the plus side, slightly lower fuel consumption, but 5 litres a day is pretty low!
  22. Thanks Steve, I'll pop the pump out saturday and see whats occurring!
  23. I have a well priced new one on ebay at the moment, used trailers are usually battered!
  24. So I have more information now. Apparently the electric lift pump went wrong and it was replaced with a non-OEM pump that may have been a higher flow and pressure. So do you think that it might have pushed a seal out the injection pump? Steve, im not sure that frost is to blame, its been too warm, but do you have any ideas which seals might have become damaged by high fuel pressure? Have you had one of these pumps out? Any things to watch?
  25. Same as yours but maybe a little bigger Stephen? Supplied this today for a 20 ton excavator I like the look of your grab, but have gone for a pendant mount grab for about 1/4 of the cost on my machine
