  1. The Farmi firewood processers were our best selling product last year and I know many people on here have them. The end of 2013 saw new regulations on road going trailers brought it, which meant that all new trailers had to be IVA tested. It is worth noting now, that any new equipment that you are towing on the road should have an IVA certificate from VOSA or a type approval. We have just completed and have supplied the first of the new style IVA tested road trailed processors. Attached are a few pictures, those of you with the older style road kits will notice a few differences. They are now braked axles (but only weigh about 900kg). The drawbar design is much more rigid, and they tow exceptionally well. They also sit slightly higher off the ground giving a bit more ground clearance as I know some people wanted. Give us a call if you need one pricing up. The kit can be retrofitted to existing processors as can the petrol engine kit.
  2. Awesome! But dont you have any flat ground near you?!
  3. Awesome, glad you are getting on well with it. Out of interest, having not yet fitted the remote, how are you finding the unwinding with the corded control? Pain in the neck or OK?
  4. Graham from chippers international is an absolutely top bloke, give him a call and he will definately help you out. Chippers International Ltd 01789 414871
  5. Hi Dean, that tractor actually has a front linkage and a little blade for pushing brash out of the way. We normally spec with a sump guard, and occasionally a basic grill guard. I'll see if I can find some pictures of a new one with forestry spec. Hi Tom, that's a 1.8 ton. I wouldn't put more than a 2 ton behind an 835. The tractor itself weighs about a ton. If you fancy a little trip to Hampshire you are welcome to come have a drive around on a new 835TS. I dont have any pictures of am 835 winching so looking forward to Ty's pictures!

  7. exceptional.....
  8. Yes, when you consider that phone theoretically cost half as much as it would to get a driving licence. Priorities are different for different people I suppose. Anyway, I guess this isnt helping him, but it is worth considering that a penny saved is as good as a penny earned.
  9. That hadnt passed me by.... I wonder if he has sky and a plasma tv, and sofas without rips in? I'm still working towards those, but I do have a full time job and also run a busy business around the day job so maybe when I'm 24 I will do too!
  10. Yes, no problems. Folding LED lights. Can do hydraulic or air brakes on 2 or 4 wheels. PM me your details if you want me to price up for you, dont want to seem like I'm spamming here!
  11. The 10 ton capacity trailer in the picture has a bed length of 3.8m, and an optional 0.5m extension. I can custom build extensions up to 1.2m. So mas bed length of 5m. With a 1m overhang thats 6m long timber.
  12. If your location is an issue why dont you move? I think the job centre might even be able to help with this? To be honest I dont think you are in a position to start a buisness, I mean you could start to do casual work, but your outgoings are probably too high to put enough money back into your buisness to maintain it. I know different areas are different, but around here the supermarkets are always looking for people, and pubs are constantly advertising. So say you worked in a supermarket for a 12 hour shift, you could still do 2-4 hours gardening. That way the supermarket pays your way, and the extra gardening money you can put straight back into your buisness to grow it. PS, if working 14-16 hours a day doesnt sound like your thing, then self employment probably isnt for you! Out of interest, do you have sky tv?
  13. Its worth just keeping an eye on that, some people (us) rate trailers on capacity. So our 14 ton trailer is rated to carry 14 ton, gross weight is nearer 18 tons with a big crane. True what you say about the weight of the timber you will actually get on there, its very hard to actually get 14 tons of timber on a 14 ton trailer! Supplied the 10 ton cap trailer as in the pic with 6.7m crane for £14k+vat
  14. Winchester GM are Viking dealers, cant they get bits for you?
  15. New D-max is 3.5 ton towing isnt it?
  16. Hi Graham, as in big splitters? big processors? Problem with the highland is its such a trek for us, but maybe we can try and get a 40 tonner up there? Hi Chris, TBC, Alresford was a bit of fun for me, but might go again, see how we go! Bentley is definately worth going!
  17. Below are the dates of the shows that we are currently confirmed to attend. Some of the guys here will be at each with various machines. May: 25-26th Yorshire Game Fair @ Newby Hall. June: 6-7th Arb show. June: 5-6-7th, Royal Cornwall. June: 15th North Yorkshire Show. June: 19-20-21-22nd, Royal Highland. June: 25-26th, Royal Norfolk. 18. No Steve, they are bang on. I think there are different gearings available. One revvs at about 3500 at 70mph and is a bit noisy at that. We have one that is limited to 70mph at about 3000rpm, and it will float along at that. Drove it to Glasgow and back a couple of weeks ago no worries. Towed 3.5 ton up there with a loaded and came back empty not towing. You dont even know a trailer is behind it. Not as comfy as a disco of course, but very good for a van! Carls a sound chap, sure he will get it sorted for you. And now I know I have a beer in from him down the pub!
  19. We run iveco 5 ton vans downrated to 3.5 ton. They will tow 3.5 ton, but due to the downrating will only carry about 900kg. Loads of power though!
  20. Hi Marcus, to be honest, by changing a couple of wires the uniforest remote would probably work with any winch. All it does is put power to various wires, I have all the wiring diagrams. I was planning on connecting one to my landrover winch some time to make that remote control!
  21. The powered outfeed adds about £800+vat. You only need save a cable or 2, or get an extra turn a day because you arent as knackered and it will have soon paid for itself. On the uniforest winches it is worth noting that you can retrofit the unwinding device to existing winches, so you could always get it further down the line. Hopefully that doesnt read too much as a uniforest advert, its just what I know, other brands might be similar, not sure.
  22. Hi Rob, really to use the powered outfeed effectively you need to have the wireless remote control option. With the Uniforest winches the T60 radio remote (including the ability to have throttle control with an additional module) retails at £800+vat, though if bought with a winch we do usually discount it further. To control the engine throttle you do need the additional module. On a tractor with manual throttle control it is a little actuator, on one with a electronic throttle there is a box with witchcraft in it. You can add these later, no need to get them straight away. You can use the outfeed with the standard corded remote, but you would have to spool the cable onto the floor, then drag it up the hill. Bear in mind that it isnt just the fact that it pulls the cable off the drum that is beneficial. Because it keeps a constant tension between the top pulley and the drum the possibility of getting a knot on the drum is massively reduced, and the cable winds much better on the drum. Having reduced this possiblity the cable gets kinked far less often and therefore lasts longer. So really, if you go with powered outfeed you really need to get the remote. But if you do go with a winch with powered outfeed and remote you certainly wont regret it! Most people going with the larger winches do go for the powered outfeed and remote, if you need a winch that big you are almost certainly using it commercially, and having those 2 features will make a very big difference to your productivity!
  23. We build a trailer with a hydraulically moving axle, to allow for variations in loading. You can just move the axle to allow for the nose weight. Bear in mind though, that new trailers must be IVA tested before going on the road. So if you build a trailer you will need to have CE certificates for every component, comply with a 114 page document of requirements, and put your trailer through a IVA test (similar to that kit cars go through). I'm not sure how that requirement translates to heavily modified trailers, but I'm not sure I would want to find out!
