  3. Fairly sure yes, the petrol model is about 250kg as well. They are seriously well built machines! Alot of the body is 10mm thick plate. I'm only going by the factory book to be fair, but I can believe they weigh every bit that much.
  4. Hi Jesse, Weight is listed at 250kg for the PTO version. The standard pump needs 20HP to turn. So if you have less HP we fit a smaller pump that produces less hydraulic flow to reduce the HP requirement. The net effect of this is that the splitter runs slower, but still produces the same power. If we connected a standard splitter to your tractor it would stall the tractor when you were splitting hard logs and also make the engine work really hard. Even with the smaller pump needed for your tractor to run it, the splitter will still be a little faster than the petrol version.
  5. Hi Jesse, you'll not be that impressed with an A11 on the hydraulics on your tractor, definately go PTO. We will have to allow for the HP of your tractor when speccing the hydraulic pump but that is no problem. We have fitted splitters on the B6100 and 7100 series with no issues (I actually have a B7100 myself). Jim
  6. Wow Dean, thats impressive mpg on your Dmax! I can get 36 on the motorway with a load in the bed, towing and I'll be down to 30ish. The worst was towing a full 3.5 ton trailer and averaged 18mpg over 500 miles on mostly small roads. As an aside, mine seems to return worse mpg as time goes on. I put a tank of premium diesel through and it seems to improve it again for a while (even when putting subsequent tanks of normal diesel through). Guess maybe the premium cleans it out?

Think they say 10 degrees side angle and 15 degrees up and down. I'm sure its in the manual somewhere. That said, I go steeper with my JD455 but its all about knowing your limits and the machine.
  8. Hi Beau, I bought mine from Halfords about 4 years ago when it was on offer, a Garmin one. I just bought it because the price was right (£100) and free map upgrades for life. Works just fine! The more money you spend the fancier they are, but they all seem to get you there. Never had any problems with mine so far, and as you know I drive alot to some pretty random places! Incedentally, down your way on Wednesday, did you want to organise collecting your processor or are you sorted? Jim
  9. Hi Jon, I got it privately. Its always been in this neck of the woods as far as I know, think the last dealer it went through was Wiltshires at Dunsfold as there is a sticker on it from them, but that might have been from when it was new. Not sure on price yet, I know what I want for it though! What do you think its worth? Cheers, Jim
  10. It came from the national trust so I'm surprised they would have had an aftermarket one fitted, but its a logical explanation. Definitely only says 390 on the plate. Hi Jon, 12 speed with the high/low splitter. All on the 1 gear lever on the right. Not great with the loader! Decent bit of kit though, only got about 3000 hours on her Jim
  11. Had the massey for a short while, thought it was a plain 390 but at the weekend I had it running and swore I could hear a turbo. Popped the bonnet and sure enough there is one! So I guess this makes it a 390T, happy days! Probably have it up for sale soon The Case is a cracking little tractor! Its got some go to it for a small tractor
  12. get a tractor with a hydrostatic transmission, that way you can alter speed and stop while not having to press the clutch and disengage PTO. My little Kubota B7100hst works in that way
  13. On mine the outer twisty bit that does the headlights you keep turning it and the rear fogs come on. Further down the stick there is a knurled bit to turn for the front fogs. Thats on a Yukon, I think the Eiger doesnt have that knurled bit. And not sure it has front fogs actually? May have to resort to reading the manual? haha
  14. Hi Tim, do you know the serial number so we can check against it if anyone trys to buy parts for it? PM me If you need to replace it let me know and I will do what I can. Jim
  15. Just to let you know we are offering a last minute offer on choker chains for all of you who havent yet managed to buy a present for your significan other! 2.5m 7mm grade 80 2.5m 8mm grade 100 (Sorry about the model)
  16. Just bought a 390 and need to do the clutch. Are they any snags to watch out for or is it relatively straightforward? Obviously have to remove the guarding and loader frame, and I'm guessing I will lose the aircon gas. I'm making a splitting rail to make it easier.
  17. You also need to make sure it is NOVA registered if it was imported I believe.
  18. Thanks guys, have passed the info on.
  19. Does anyone know of anyone hiring a ~8 ton digger with tree shear in North Hampshire (Berkshire border)?
  20. Hi Chipy, we import the Kretzer equipment, but dont have one of these machines in stock yet, they have only just been released, email us at [email protected] and we can give you more info Jim
  21. We have a few depots, but you machines are at Hampshire down south
  22. Fair point about engine braking. I try to let my trailer brakes do the work to keep it straight going down steep hills. Put my Dmax on a weighbridge the other week actually and it comes up at 2400kg with the toolbox in the bed. We are looking at 5th wheel possibilities at the moment, as I think that is the only real solution!
  23. Thats what I'm saying, with the diff unlocked (ie normal road driving) its no better than a pickup. And with the center diff engaged its the same as a pickup in 4WD. The guys earlier in the thread saying that the pickups were a death trap because they were only 2 wheel drive, a LR is no better in terms of the drive system! And the stability control and traction control on the pickups make them a better choice on road than the defenders IMO. The only advantage of the LR is that you can use low box without in being in 4WD for manouvering. Of course we know LRs are better offroad for other reasons (suspension, weight distrubution) but I dont think the drive system makes a whole load of difference.
  24. But surely with an open diff in the transfer box if you lose traction on the front axle it will just spin the wheels and the rear wheels will do nothing? Having had both the LR is clearly was better offroad, but I would say the Isuzu is much better on the road.
  25. Im not sure that some people quite understand how the drive system on a LR defender works. When you have the center diff lock disengaged it will not have any more traction than a pickup with rear wheel drive. When you engage the center diff lock it is the same as other pickups in 4WD (will scrub the tyres on hard surfaces). The LR doesnt have the TC system that the pickups do though. There is no LSD in a landrover transfer box. I have been thiking about adding a switch to the 4WD in my Dmax, so I can engage low box and then turn off the 4WD so manouvering on road in lox box. I think the 4WD has a seperate fuse, so was going to see if this is possible by pulling the fuse out. The TCS on the Dmax is great though, works really well in snow!
