1. Sorry my mistake didn't mean to cause any confusion was rushing earlier I meant 4 mix not stroke and yes fuel was mixed 5l to a one shot same as I use on most my tools not neat fuel I will wait to hear back from my dealer and get them to check it out its probably something simple and im just too tired to see it but thanks anyway always worth asking just incase

3. Hi thanks for the replies oh no thats doesnt sound great its a stihl km130r 4 stroke thought it would last a whole lot longer than this .Ok have e mailed the dealer and will let them sort it otherwise my warranty may not be valid im not touching it they can sort it thanks all
4. As far as im aware chainsaws on a sunday could be classed as noise pollution the same as a dog barking etc if somebody complains I do a lot of logging over the weekends but thankfully nobody has ever complained I think the rules differ from area to area but would be enviromental health issue and down to who ever complained and how often they put in the complaint as to how they deal with it
5. I have a failry new stihl combi unit have only really used it a handfull of times this year and I was using it to cut a load of hawthorn earlier today and suddenly it squeeled at me and just died I have checked for the obvious to see if anything was caught up in it etc but nothing in view I tried to pull the re coil and it felt like it was pretty tight and hard to pull so popped the re coil off thats working fine it looks like it more internal I dont really want to start taking it apart as not 100 % with a combi whats what as it looks pretty tight in there and I dont want to void the warranty but am I missing somthing thats obvious?I checked the plug it looks fine what else could it be?it sounded clutch like to me I have work booked in for next week I could really do with the unit for then so if anyone has any ideas what I should be checking would be much appreciated
6. I done a cut the other day only skimmied the top to neaten it up a bit then took my boys to clarks to buy them new shoes and the woman was obviously eyeing up my grass covered boots and said to me you have never been cutting grass have you?she sounded so suprised glad im not the only one who has been busy with the mower
7. Sorry to hear of your loss thats so sad .I saved a dog the other day was not one of mine was a ladies who lives locally I was walking home and her dog shot off the cycle path straight in front of a transit and back in on the road right in front of me and came belting down the pavement towards me through pure fear after almost being hit by the van I just grabbed it think it was a boxer not as big as my shepherds so i took it back to the gate where the lady came running down the track with her other dog it must of just legged it and left her right behind because she was that out of breath from running she couldnt even speak!I was fuming told her it was a narrow miss and told her to put it on the lead poor thing the reason I was annoyed was not because the dog had obviously not listened to her it was because I know its not the first time this is the third dog she has had that has had no control or recall I have witnessed her dogs running off in front of vehicles on several occasions if I let my german shepherd behave like that im sure enough people would complain!
8. I told a friend this as I knew the leaves were used in the olden days for more sinister purposes he didnt believe me when I told him to be carefull with that stuff but from what I understand if your chipping the laurel its the leaves that contain it once they are cut they release the gas also it will not take affect straight away it builds up in your system in just the same way an anti biotic does so if you were doing a job one day you wouldnt be so bad but if you spent a whole week chipping the stuff it may make you suffer bad head sickness etc from prolonged exposure to the smell as others have said if your burning it just dont go sticking you head in the smoke use a bit of common sense:001_smile:
9. Just wondered does anybody use this with their i phone etc and if so how secure are they for taking payments?Free iZettle PAYG Mobile Card Payment Reader for iPhone, iPads and Android devices
10. Ours is £260 ish a year 2 bedroom cottage only use our gas for cooking and hot water heating runs off our burner I would love to have a second burner installed just for hot water but no where for one to fit in lol
11. Its certainly been nice to see the sun out and hear all the birds cant believe its turning colder again this week as original poster said I hope this year will be better than last im so sick of the wet weather and really looking forward to a nice warm spring
12. Rats I hate the things im not scared of them they are just so destructive and carry weils disease I keep chickens and they do move in close to our sheds its a real pain so need tpo be kept in check.I have tried most methods ferrets useless in my opinion unless you get a good one which will get them out.We have smoked them out before now but they dissapear to ground as quick as they come out unless you have a pack of dogs that are quick of the mark I know they say terriers are good ratters my my german shepherds do just as well infact my bitch is extremly quick on them and not only shoves her nose down the hole can dig the things out and between the both can shift some soil . Rats are clever as the pre plan everything they do but at the same time are real stupid they get too confident and think you cant see them in the dark but a monocular and a air rifle with a night sight soon catches them out their hearing is extremly sensistive so bear that in mind when your ratting. If you are using dogs would recomend getting your vaccinated against leptospirosis as it is not included in your dogs regular vaccines and boosters unless requested also if your using poisen dont use dogs due to secondry poisening would hate to hear of anyones dogs getting ill
13. Am I right in saying your stocking the pcw300 @£1,078.80 inc VAT and not the pcw5000 £1200.00 + VAT? I have my eye on one of these would make my life a whole lot easier how much would it be with the ropes for it?They do look good I wouldnt want a winch stuck to the front of my truck would be a bit weary some one would come along and try and pinch it you may find an order coming in from me in the new year for one editing thisnow can see you have the other one right next to it im going blind lol ok new question does the kit have all the ropes etc with it then?
14. Thats a shame the police take that attitude theft is theft at the end of the day im not quiet sure how I would react if I caught somebody stealing my property especially after we were broken into last year.Btw I thought I would mention you better watch those birds if its in a bird box I have sited a bushnell before now to watch our fox that visits our garden and had a blue tit come along decided to leave a nice blob of somthing on the actual lense and blurred the whole shot!not sure if it was the same bird but it happened a few times all by blue tits landing on the front must of been attracted by the shiny reflection or somthing I didnt realize it had been done until I checked the footage and seen it land in front of the camera then couldnt see a thing lol!
15. Why wont the police use the footage?I was watching a programm recently and some bloke was using a cyclist helmet camera on the road and somebody attacked the cyclist from a car but the police could not find the bloke due to car bening registered to a different person so he set the footage up on you tube or somthing and it went viral and the bloke turned hiself in to the police because somebody had recognised him in his street he lived in if I caught anyone stealing from us again and the police wouldnt help I would do the same I think really annoys me how people can just take what doesnt belong to them !
16.
Hi Nick thats the issue our land is on a narrow lane I wouldnt want to send an artic any further along the lane to lift over our hedge as it would have real trouble getting out also we have power cables running low across the hedgeline I know the neighbours had a static delivered on one previously but have absolutly no idea how they managed to get out and obviously keeping cost down is important otherwise its not worth our while doing it I will have a word with some people I know locally I may be able to come to some sort of arrangement with them to have it delivered to one of their yards and will get back to you if I can arrange somthing thanks for getting back to me

17. Nothing arb related as I know I will get that in the year anyway but I am sticking an I-robot scooba under the tree (little robot that hoovers scrubbs and washes the floors) everything comes through my house on the tiled floors muddy dogs tools kids etc im so sick of cleaning the floors I thought I can either fork out for a cleaner to come in and sort the floors once a week but that would mean me being stuck in whilst they are here or I can buy a robot to do it for me press a button and head back out the door seemed like a simple choice really love modern technology especially when it makes life easier
18.
Hi Nick was reading the post in the firewood forum you had given a quote for a load to be delivered to pontypool s.wales we have been doing firewood for the past few years and are slowly using our own supply but I now want to allow more growth with what we have left on our land but would like to continue with the firewood as we have a good outlet and I do not wish to lose that custom only problem I have is the access I dont think an artic would be able to get up our drive or turn around once up there although the quantity I want would be an artic loads worth to np18 I just wanted to know do you do smaller loads?(on smaller sized vehicles)we have had somthing similar size to this up our drive before just wanted to know really is there any way you can offer advice or be able to sort a load or two and at what price? Thanks http://www.maunmotors.co.uk/pictures/iveco_eurocargo_palfinger_crane_rental.jpg

19. There are a few large parks near me and I know a lot of mums who still do the same as what my dad done all those years ago taking their toddlers to feed nuts to the squirrels they are as bold as brass and actually run up to people and take nuts from their hands real tame apparently until they decide to bite instead!I wouldnt fancy it myself they have pretty large teeth made me fearfull a while back when I was working right next to a dreys nest working was worried a squirrel may jump out and just attack me but nothing was in it .I have also heard of roofers who have been attacked by them because they have disturbed their nest site up in lofts!
20. Well done on passing good luck with the rest of it
21. Just put a like on now
22. I actually used to like grey squirrels(as a child my dad would take me to the park to feed them !)but that was before I was educated on them and discovered how they had driven out the red and how much damage they cause to trees and I personally would not fancy a bite from one as I know a few people who have had those squirrel teeth sunken into them but it was not until I watched that tales from the wild wood that I realised you could actually eat them looks like its common knowledge but its somthing that had never crossed my mind but I have to admit since I found out that I have been looking at them in another light every time I see them scarper off into the wood as I drive up my drive it has crossed my mind I wonder what they taste like?
23. I was going to say an acacia the second picture made me think that
24. A s somebody said near the start of the thread they felt like a child listening to ghost stories I have really enjoyed reading everyones experiences :001_smile:as for me well I believe theres somthing there but generally dont believe anything until I see hear or feel it myself we live in an old cottage been here for 13 years and never had any real happenings but my mum passed two years ago and when she died I had been really ill at the same time and was recovering from an op so home a lot it was me and my boys home and will never forget my tv downstairs started switching itself on! my son had gone down to the bathroom and the poor little mite came tearing up the stairs and said the toilet flushed itself and he heard voices so just ran !well i know what the voices was because the living room tv was on and i heard that happen myself but the lav omg in all fairness freaked me right out then about 3 more times at early hours of the morning my tv done it again whic totally creeped me out my mum always said she would come back and haunt me in a playfull way in the end i started unplugging the tv before bed as got sick of having to face going down to shut it off in the dark. After a while i put it to the back of my mind and forgot to unplug the tv and its never happened since im convinced it was my mum saying she still here lol !
25. And hope your mum gets well soon too
