  1. I was working on a cherry tree today and came across this ugly looking caterpillar I have never seen anything like it before it had a very big mouth and was pinkish in colour and huge any ideas what it is? I searched the net and could not find anything remotely like it sorry pics are not great but got my hubby to hold it whilst I took a shot because no way was I touching it lol .Would love to know what it is any guesses?
  2. I had a norton warning last week on here saying it had blocked a malicious attack or somthing I just ignored it, but nothing today so must be sorted
  3. Definatly sounds like those sensors ,cuts the turbo real pain when it happens check no wire attached to the sensors have come loose from vibrations whilst driving hope your able to find it and sort it
  4. Is the hogweed the stuff if you touch it and go into the sunlight end up with severe burns? There is loads of it further up the river Usk from where I am all along the banks I went up on our boat a few years back whilst it was all up and in full bloom I was shocked by the sheer size of it sounds like nasty stuff
  5. No wont be trasspassing at all infact the lean on the tree is really unusual as its trunk comes up the wall over the top of the wall it sat on top of it from what I remember and all of the crown is in the customers garden as the tree officer agreed its dead dying etc so needs to be removed its just the bloke who has the base of the trunk in his garden next door that im worried over as he sounds like a right pain in the as they have asked him over and over I think he is doing it deliberatly as knows its winding them up or something...as its only small I was going to use my silky loppers pole and silky saw and work from the ground on the crown then dismantle whats left of the trunk up to where it comes over the boundry it is not in the best health anyway so hopefully it will continue to die off but my customers concern is if it was left it would take the wall down like the neighbours previous tree so wants it dealt with wich is understandable but the bloke next door seems to be awkward
  6. Thats awful I think I would find myself sticking my head under every l200 local to you to see if one has been welded in on their truck just makes me furious the cheek of these people im sick of being broken into and stuff whats wrong with society today why dont they get a job and pay for what they want instead of taking stuff that doesnt belong to them
  7. Thanks I think I will take your advice im gonna leave this well alone then and just offer to keep it in check if it does come back over I dont want to eco plug it if it will be wrong to do so with any luck he will cut the rest down hiself once he spots its been worked on think I am going to go in with the silent technique and silky saw as much as possible to keep noise minimal before he spots me lol :lol:coward aint I but I really do not want the hassle of a disgruntal neighbour even the tree officer agreed it has to come down and apparently one of his other trees came down a few years ago and took out part of their wall hence why they are concerened about this one as with the way its leaning and condition would only be a matter of time.Makes me wish he had brought out his saw and sorted it hiself but I knew that would not happen but then he still has 6 days to do so lol. Thanks for the advice all
  8. Just need some advice please I have a job lined up and the tree is in a neighbours garden but grows up against the wall over the top, basically sat on top and up into the customers garden I have had the ok from the L.A to remove the tree as its infected and dying but what I want to know is if I cut it back to where the customers boundry wall is am I allowed to eco plug it?and kill it off as they do not want re growth its a tricky situation the man next door likes his trees A LOT and he has promised time after time he would remove it or reduce it but never followed through after I was granted permission he promised my customer he would do it with his saw I told my customer thats fine just let me know if he lets you down again left it a month and once again the tree is still there no sign of this neighbour I am friends with the customer so its more doing them a favour than anything but I dont want to get this guy on my back about killing his tree am I legally allowed to kill the remaining trunk that will be in his garden or should I leave it well alone and allow it to re grow?what are the rules surrounding this?
  9. Im glad im not alone mine comes and goes but it was real bad last week I worked saturday morning doing a garden clearance and then spent the afternoon brushcutting scrub I find the strimmer sets it off real bad even though I use the harness, the chainsaw does not seem to aggravate it and hedge cutting is medium but it seems to come and go as it pleases anyway regardless of any triggers I read online to wrap my elbow in a towel at night as silly as it sounds I knew my arm would be bad saturday night so I wore my wrist strap and wrapped my elbow in a towel rolled it right around my arm slept a bit funny but it seems to of helped! I am going to ring the docs tomorrow and see if the x ray results are back the doc said its more complicated to deal with which has worried me I wonder if the specialist will give me somthing like the arm brace you bought I dont fancy 3 months off I cant sit still for five minutes I would go crazy not being able to do the things I enjoy and only started my business this year so cant afford too much time off I really hope its nothing too bad that warrents an op the doctor did say they would probably try the steroid injection route first before he frightened me with the ''they may need to shave your bone''bit lol I guess if it needs doing and they can definatly say its the cause then I will have to get it done the doc did say its lucky I didnt accept the carpel op all those years ago because it would of been a waste as he thinks the cubital tunnel is the cause of my problems not the carpel. Thanks for letting me know there may be a non op solution give me hope will have to wait to see the specialist and think I am going to find a support like that for the meanwhile and see if it helps. Khriss how is the recovery on yours after the op you had do you get any problems with it now ?I guess my biggest fear is I will lose my grip strength ,I read online that cubital can lead to muscle wastage not that I think I have that as im pretty fit and when my hand is ok its great its just night time and the morning its weak until my arm wakes up and the tingling stops and pain goes,I just dont want it to affect my grip ,glad to hear your grip is still good steph thats reassuring :thumbup1:thanks all
  10. Just got back from doctors been suffering with carpel tunnel for years on and off finally thought the time has come to get it operated on and sorted because its worse than it was before and I want to be 100% for work the pain also comes from my elbow never really thought anything of it as physio said it was definatly carpel tunnel so I treated it as was told only to go to the docs just now and for him to tell me this morning it sounds like I have cubital tunnel syndrome just been given an admittance form for the hospital and im straight in for an x-ray and they want to send me for nerve stimulation tests and specialist im now worried as thought recovery time from an op for carpel would be 5 weeks but doc reckons it could be excess bone growth on my elbow that they may need to shave off or a whole load of other things that could be causing it and my wrist may not need anything done at all. What sort of recovery time would I be looking at for an op like that?has anyone else had it and how long before you was able to get back to work?
  11. Thats awful glad she got her details she probably would of just drove off otherwise .We are not all that bad you know but I have to agree there are A LOT of bad women drivers I was on my way to a job the other morning had parked in local car park to drop the kids off and similar happened to me only thing was I was in my truck when she done it,was just filling in my milaege book before I set off and suddenly I realized I was moving because the women who had parked in the space opposite mine had just reveresed out of her space and straight into my front bull bar !I looked up all I could see was her break lights sat on my bull bar I thought in a minute she will realize whats she done get out and apoligize ...few seconds later I see her reverse light come back on I dived out the truck and shouted at her:cursing: stupid woman was going to shunt my bull bar for a second time, when I shouted she realised she got out of her car and all she could say was im so sorry the car was bleeping like crazy at me ...I was like well yep that would be your sensors telling you your about to hit somthing which happened to be me:001_rolleyes: she managed to push the bull bar back slightly but no real damage scratched her bumper a bit though second time a woman has hit me in that car park im reluctant to park there anymore for fear of the people who cant drive:lol:
  12. Im forever getting bitten seen loads of horse flies this year compared to last but as above posted loads of mosquitoes things around as well I think all the wet weather has helped them ,their bites never show up straight away I always end up itching them the following day horrid things ,I have never heard of those flower bugs they look like they would give a nasty bite

  15. Just wondered if anybody could give me some idea what I should expect to pay per meter for livestock fencing to be put in? the ground is on a slope loads of tree roots a few stoney bits as well so not the easiet ground no access for machinery so would have to be done by hand im seriously thinking of getting some done next spring but dont want to get ripped off by anyone and want the job done properly so thought I should ask some of you what can I expect to be paying before I go calling in anyone for a quote I want normal livestock with two barb at top and one barb on the ground level to stop pigs routing up and under, also I want posts that are not going to rot that quickly as our ground gets pretty soaked at times, we installed some 5 years ago purchased from countrywide and are finding they are snapping in the ground already is this the normal lifespan of them? any advice will be much appreciated
  16. Thank you for the info will have to have a look for the books and get reading,I guess it depends on what nutrients they are able to find as to how far they send the roots depending on the soil type as you say, thanks guys
  17. Just wondered can anyone point me in the right direction I know some trees have tap roots and others spread wide but is there anything that I can look at that will give me some idea of what trees do what?
  18. Try asking on the poultry keeper forum I use wood chip for my chickens and for around the kids park and stuff I use everything I get and I take a few loads from a mate when he is working in the area there are quiet a few on there with smallholdings/farms etc they may be local to your area and may find yourself some good tip sites instead of paying stupid fees

  19. Lol thats a May bug alright my neighbour had a pretty big one of her front door step a few weeks back the kids were fascinated ,as for me well when they fly into the room in the dark making all that noise and land on the floor in front of you just dimly lit by the light from the tv and frighten the living daylights out of you can honestly say im not that fussed on them
