  9. Congratulation's on passing ! I have got mine next week coming up starting to feel nervous lol wish I had passed mine and got insurance sooner as I got caught up on my way home from the field last night with a willow down across the road, two police two council wardens and a shed load of traffic blocking the way .....I wanted to get home so managed to persuade them to let me at it as I had my kit in the boot as had just spent the day logging wood, I know I really should not of but I cleared some off the top of the tree on their say so,made it so the car's could at least pass on the one side of the road so the police could clear the backlog of traffic and shut it off completely ,some random bloke got a camera out and was amazed by it and said it was going in the paper sorry if it was one of you guy's who dealt with it later on didnt mean to step on anyone's toes just wanted to get home the same as anybody else
  10. As long as you keep livestock on the ground I cant see them kicking up too much fuss but being that somebody has reported you they have to follow it up ,I would be interested ''if you dont mind'' to know the outcome of this as im basically in the same boat our land is agri but atm im not at the stage of polytunnels but would certainly like to be in the next year or so it would be interesting to know what they say or wether they ask you to apply for change of use etc ?good luck with it anyway and hope they back off and dont give you too much agro
  11. I personally cant see why it would not do the job my husband has an old izuzu basically the same set up that we converted and that does the job pretty well and its not even a two door which i would imagine like the one in the listing would be better again as more room in the tipper:001_smile:
  12. Yeah I done the same im 6.5-7 shoes size but being a woman needed to try some on first as had no idea what size I would be so I popped to l&m youngs and tried some there just as well as I turned out to be in size 5 chainsaw boot's so now I know what to order online in the future,I think countrywide stores also stock stihl stuff but not sure if they keep the boot's in store and im not a hundred percent sure but ted hopkins may do chainsaw stuff too?somebody correct me if im wrong lol
  13. Ok thanks will bear you in mind if i get stuck and need some extra help it's alway's good to have people to fall back on,thanks for the advice felix ,yeah i think getting him to do his tickets that will be on the card's eventually but means he will need to take time off work to do so. Where can i get a risk assesment form from that's appropriate for this line of work would it just need to be a bog standard one?thanks anyway for the advice
  14. I really had to scan the net and all available funding sources but eventually came across somthing called the newport womens forum and they helped fund towards the cost even though i have also paid towards it it was better than nothing but probably of no use to you as it was a womens thing. There is an organisation in south wales called focus on forestery first they also provide funding for people who are setting up if i failed to get my funding i would of approached them as i did speak to them and they were very helpfull but from what i was told you need to be able to prove you have a job to go into once you have done your tickets for them to be able to help you out or somthing along the lines of that. Hope this helps
  15. That's just wrong they are complete scum worse thing is when its somewhere and they must of known you was away from your home, same thing with our chipper and generator the other week right on the doorstep but they knew we was not around at that time theiving scum that they are. hope you find out who took it so not funny when its all you have and cant afford to replace
  16. Im doing my cs30 &31 in dec and I have a job lined up after that working for somebody who has a lot of land to maintain and if things go right this could turn into a long term thing I wanted to know which insurance will I need to cover for myself ,public liability etc and possibly for my other half he doesnt have his tickets yet(although he has used the saw for years just in a different trade) would this affect the insurance if he came in and helped with the ground work would he need his tickets first? I have somebody else who does have all his tickets bar his ariel ones who I can fall back on for help if I do get the work that's lined up but if this does turn into a business venture I would like to do it properly with the proper cover etc that is required and if its not prying too much how much can i expect to be paying for cover?so i have a rough idea ,who is the best insurers etc etc I want to get a business plan drawn up so I can put it into motion as soon as I feel ready .thanks all
  17. And another one, they love sitting in the sawdust and the woodchip I cant cut anything without them sitting in the messiest stuff lol
  18. My pair
  19. Our's has been lit since the end of oct draughty old 2 bed cottage my fire seem's to just swallow the wood at times but then it does heat the whole house am wondering what sort of winter we are in for this year
  20. If I was in your shoes I dont think I would some people are just dangerous and have no sense when it comes to using a chainsaw . But im curious how much would an artic load cost anyway? One day our supply will run low its always handy to know what price it can be bought in for im looking at doing firewood as a sideline when I set up business in the near future.
  21. Thanks im as blind a s a bat didnt even notice there was a stolen section in the forum thanks for moving my post mods I will take a read through when i get five minutes spare too
  22. Hey Jazz hope your course assesment went ok im heading to usk on the 12th for my cs30&31 i spoke to jan bartlett yesterday and booked the date i asked her if there was a kit list and she said no they had stuff there i will be wearing my own ppe as i doubt they will have anything that fits me there ,but just wanted to know are we expected to take anything with us? i was gonna ring the college the week before just to ask but wondered if you would know as yr doing it atm
  23. Well no sign of it probabley wont ever see it again it is annoying they should try getting a proper job like everyone else not go around and bloody steal off people, taking other people's stuff that they worked hard to pay for muppets that they are
  24. In caerleon just outside newport ,im bloody tamping they have caused so much damage as well as taking our stuff they damaged the fence and the gate ,the hinge has dropped somehow and the gate now drags on the floor as a result of them forcing it im not sure if they tried to remove it(we put the hinge on upside down so they could not do that) but managed to get our lock over the top somehow so definatly went equipped .so we have all that to sort out now too more cost again
  25. Im pretty sure it was pre planned we was broken into at the beggining of the year same style had bolts cutters or similar cut through fence and through a secure storage but first of all nothing was taken and it happened in a half term we thought maybe kids found bolt cutters and put them to use possibley? so upped our security informed police and all the usual this time they took out the fence and again used their bolts cutters to gain access into our storage this time though they must of forced the locks on our first entrance gate and brought a van in to the second gate hell of a treck to get the stuff out but they they took the fence out alongside the second gate and obviously loaded it through there, they knew what they was after have the police coming out tomorrow to check it all out im pretty sure they are local but we will probably never see it again. im yet to speak to my neighbour to see as he usually spots everything on our drive its just seems strange that every time they have hit our place its been through the half term over the past two years,we are not at all happy but lesson learnt nothing will be left there again
