For those of you who are using these cam types what is the picture qaulity like?am i right in saying they require no power source?if so these would be ideal for us in our plot of ground as we have no power to the site but keep getting tresspassers and vandals and log thiefs would be fantastic to see who it is and what time etc they are turning up maybe it will help us catch them in the act if we knew a bit more

Any funding for cs30/31 In Manchester???
sasha.p replied to Dannyboy1990's topic in Training & education
Do a net search some organisations out there may be able to help with training fees I came across one which was for women who want career changes and have managed to get funding for my cs30&31 in october but have to attened an awards cermony and do a five minute speech for it (which im panicking about lol)as I was singled out from a load of others who applied so well pleased and looking forward to it.just keep looking and check out anything landbased they may be able to advise you to somewhere that can offer help with costs -
I quit some 10 years ago i did smoke quiet heavy tried a few times before i did tried patches and everything nothing worked though in the end i shut myself away from the world and everyone else who smoked around me worked a treat never smoked since .Congratulations anyway keep it up will save you a fortune and your health one of my mates is a paramedic and said after a few years your lungs repair the damage unless its anything serious so go for it lol

Silly question its just i noticed an app posted along our street for a tree to be felled ''an ash'' the application states ...but the only thing is i noticed i cant see an ash in the garden of the adress only a mature beech tree but im not 100% sure there is not an ash tucked away somewhere and if it is it can only be small so why would it need planning?, do they go out and check the tree that is going to be felled?

Problem is the ground is on a hill we levelled our driveway alongside the footpath and it would mean digging out the bank and bringing in tons more hardcore to widen it so a second fence could be placed alongside so not really practicle atm i think im going to approach the council footpath officer and find out what they say is allowed and double check and explain the situation i would put in blackthorn right the way along given half the chance it just annoys me that they are so destructive

It's just wrong really as the law seems to be on their side unfortunatley the one fence they have climbed in on is a 6ft fence on side of footpath no barb allowed from what the footpath officer has told us from the local authority when we originally fenced footpath off. But they also came in over the gates which does have barb both ways have signs present saying about the dogs and private property unlike those filthy little scumbags i dont think i could smear **** on anything but the anti theft paint stuff idea whith it mixed with old oil sounds good im bound to have a few tins somewhere . we have had the land for over 5 years and never any bother up until now and unfortunatly they appear to be the worst type of trouble as well dirty little buggers. im off up there this morning with my youngest and the dogs to get some work done but im gonna lock the gates so if they do turn up they will think nobody is there and i know one of the boys if off up there later too to do some work to his van we are bound to catch them at some point but i still think prevention is better than cure,we are off to the royal welsh show on wednesday and you can gaurantee they turn up whilst we are not about so going to get some signs made up for anti theft paint and keep it legal i think and get them up before wednesday and get it all coated. Thanks for the advice all much appreciated its just a shame i cant spike the fance and gate and stuff ..personally would love to dig a huge man trap with spikes at the bottom and catch the swines lol.....but unfortunatly the law would have somthing to say about that

I saw it advertised on the kids channels of all places so took a look thought it looked dodgy so googled it and found forums saying its a con etc so didnt even register with them it appears they have some sort of automatic bidding that happens at the last second from what i read .......personally i think they should be barred from advertising on tv as that is the reason a lot of people seem to of thought they were safe to use they are probabley are safe but the only one making anything is madbid.com and the only ones who are losing are the one trying to bid ..stick to e bay at least you know where you are with them

We have teenage kids keep breaking into our plot last half term they caused a fair amount of damage and this time the dirty little beggars done somthing that filthy im not even gonna say but anyway they are climbing over our fence and main gate what products are there on the market that i can paint over these to put them off ? i want somthing thats going to really ruin their clothes and make them not want to come back they are lucky i have not caught them whilst we are working up there as the gaurd dog signs are not there as a deterent they are these for a very good reason with summer holidays about to begin I have a feeling they are going to make more frequent visits so want to do as much to stop them as possible any ideas much appreciated

We came across one on our footpath when we were clearing the ground it had been there for years and nobody had found it because all the scrub had grown over it it was not until we ploughed through the brambles with our digger that we uncovered it and wondered what the things was box was labelled up with stickers saying warning contents of geocache looked like some sort of bomb or somthing in a tupperware container, opened it to find little black book and lots of bits people had left so decided to re hide it and join in but its the only one we ever done lol

Oh Im glad i just read your thread Janey its looks like they have changed it then as last year it was only available in england!! im going to look into it now im aiming at finding work around sept when my kids go full time school i have been messing about trying to get funding from all directions towards cs30&31 so far with no luck and it seems there is not much my way of employment either for somebody starting out but i have from now until then to get the feelers out and get my tickets and get a placement with somebody

Sounds like a nightmare but in reality the bloke would of known if the head was going and if he sold it to you knowing just that then he should cover cost's of returning the vehicle but then if its a private dealer you may find he will not ,but defo would not bother to take it on return it get your money back ,my mate had her head gasket go the other week the garage charged £800 for re skimm new fittings etc and that was only on a corsa. parts for l200 are easily available if your prepaired to take it on and do the work it needs but from my l200 i have experienced once one thing starts going wrong it just keeps coming your doing the right thing by taking it back good luck in getting yr money back

Nice chook house im sure the girls will love it,I have kept allsorts of poultry over the year's as other's mentioned fox proof it and rodent proof the secod rat's know there is a food source they will be around.I would have to add the bigger and better qaulity the chip you can use the better for the same reason previous poster mentioned due to composting quickly...... as its breaking down the chip can release spores wich can cause respiratory issues

Thanks for the info I still have not looked into it too much as it just looks like its all over the place so will need pin pointing .The oil level seem's to be stable and not dropping so im not panicking so much now. I could see oil at top and thought at first head gasket but then realised its been picked up on the belts and sprayed there so not the head gasket and its running fine anyway, im still not getting oil on the floor but its underneath on the sump pan, i changed the leaf spring shackles and bushes last weekend and the collars on the torsion bar on the one side ,im going back up to do the other collars on the other side as ran out of time and intend on looking a bit closer at the leak when i have more time but my ex hubby said he will help me if it is a major seal gone and not somthing that can be worked on from underneath .But thanks I will take a look at that link too I guess its better to know your own truck than to have some garage try and rip you off

I took a little look after difficult to say without getting right under which i could not do outside on the road pretty narrow outside my house will wait until im up the field with it at least i wont get run over by a car passing then and can get in under properley and take a look its not actually dripping on the road but its on the bottom of the sump so im guessing its only just started to leak ,i checked oil level and it seems fine but there is definatley something coming from somewhere down in there i may have to take belt cover off to see where exactly its coming from as its mostly hidden in there and difficult to see from above as seems to be oil up the sides as well but i dont think its from head gasket as that looks clean. mines on a 02plate. Will check the filter too then as i did have that changed the last time i had work done to it so it could be the case,it may of loosened whilst i have been off road on rough track up the field wishfull thinking i know if only it is somthing so simple lol guess i will find out more tomorrow and as you say if its not that bad leave it until i have to do it I take it you mean l/r (land rover?)lol

I just took a look under it as she started to clunk so was looking to see what bushes was worn and noticed its only gone and got an oil leak :thumbdown:not at all happy im supposed to be saving to do my ticket's im assuming any oil leak on it is going to be a pretty big job anyone here got any idea's how much i may end up paying out for this ?im not sure what gaskets gone yet going back out with a torch now to take a closer look to see if i can pin point it i spent a small fortune on it last year as my fuel pump had to be replaced and flywheel fell apart and various other general wear and tear bits could of done without this now

tree work on watchdog/rouge traders BBC 1 now!
sasha.p replied to showoffsummer's topic in General chat
Well I was horrifed really when i watched it as somebody who wants to get into arb im shocked there are people out there who are actually like that and currently working and getting the work and being paid that amount for it! is he insured, did he have any tickets at all? im not qaulified in any tree work as of yet and could do a better job and charge more reasonabley was he a *****?made me laugh when they approached the van and he told his misses it was rougue traders she soon dissapeared so was an obvious sign its not the first time he has overcharged and abused his line of work otherwise why hide?but i guess there are bad eggs in every line of work i just hope people like this are far and few between i guess anyone could get a tipper tranny and stick a few decal's on the side doesnt make them ligit does it :thumbdown:I have never seen anyone throw a saw like that before im suprised he managed to get it going again at all :lol:I like a bit of rouge trader's alway's makes me laugh -
Mine is a garret gti 1500 which has the salt elimination so I guess that is for beach use but lord knows how I will work out how to set it right lol my brother got hiself a new minelab I bought his old one in the hope I may find somthing on our plot one day being that we are in the middle of a roman village :001_smile:I was going to ask a few farmers I know if I could take it over their ground freshly ploughed fields look much more appealing than digging through roots:biggrin:

Whats the best way to search for employment (South Wales area)
sasha.p replied to sasha.p's topic in Training & education
Im on outskirts of newport in caerleon, I can't do anything until sept as childcare issues my youngest goes full time in sept hence why im going in for the course then it just would not be practicle atm as im currentley doing three school runs a day it would cost a fortune in childcare and not be viable right now but come sept things will be different when he goes in for a full day. I do know a few tree surgeons one used to live in my street but moved to pontypool his web is ben up a tree he used to be a lecturer at usk college and i think he is a lantra trainer but i have not seen him in ages to be able to speak to him i used to have wood chip off him for my chickens for their runs i am going to speak to him soon im not sure if he will be able to help or point me in the right direction i did bump into his dad the other week and mentioned i wanted to speak to him .The others i know work the railways clearing the lines and are also self employed but again i have not seen them for ages either i guess these people should be my first point of contact then . I was cutting some wood that had been felled on a mans driveway the other week as a friend asked if i could have it for firewood and the man i was cutting it for asked was i a proffesional as obviously i had all my kit on etc and when he was told no but told i am looking at doing my cs30&31 his response was well when she has done them let me know because he runs one of the main civil engineering companies based in newport and said he occasionally gets site clearances etc that he has to call people in to do and would be happy to hire me in so was happy with what he saw of my logging...which to me was fantastic and nice to know that people would be willing to employ me, but if i am able to start from the bottom and learn through experience i think thats the way forward really starting with getting my tickets . thanks for the info janey will add all of those to my favourites now ready for sept which im sure is going to come around so quick ,im hoping ben may be able to help me out as everyone i have spoken to have all pointed me in the direction of him and as you have suggested try people who are in that line of work first thanks for the advice all
