  1. Coming from someone who uses a foodblender for a chipper.
  2. I have done a number of Alianthus since being here and they always snap out unexpectedly, branches trunks the lot, a very dangerous tree.
  3. Those little Echos are dirt cheap and pretty good, I am 200t all the way but having used an Echo "in extremis" I can recommend them. Light as a feather, not as pokey but for the price, a great little saw.
  4. maybe thats why they are cheap
  5. Well it seems to me that very good quality larger machines (50plus hp) are very cheap considering. maybe its just my perception.
  6. Probably, I just googled it and took a flyer. Nice chipper, is that a landy pulling it? I don't want to get into a towing thread (yawn) but in the long run would it be more worthy of a larger lorry?
  7. 1220 KG then

  16. Price wise it is on earborist at 30k, lot of machine....lot of money.
  17. That is allways a bit of a minefield, have had the odd contretemps with clients, won some, and lost some.
  18. Thanks, understand now. out of my depth!
  19. I am no expert but most have the standard cab on with a pickup or other modded rear. what body are you after?
  20. Firm but fair
  21. I don't understand, the usual question is Electric or hydraulic, are you talking about a tractor winch or one for a 4x4?
  22. I have (without being asked) received Earl Grey from some people, when I spat it onto the ground immediately they understood the gravity of the mistake.
  23. Ah that brings up something that has been bothering me, most tree surgeon's woodchip piles will contain the remains of diseased trees, after all that is often what we are called out to fell. I recently dug a pond in my garden, planted some shrubs, chipped it up and hey presto! a month later a forest of, well, honey coloured fungi. Could it be a very real danger that we are spreading pathogens (if thats the right word) Sorry if this is covered earlier in the thread, I will go back and look now.
  24. er.... no its all (well mostly) about the money
