  1. If ur around Suffolk Norfolk way give me a pm. The 10week course will get ur quals very quickly. But no experience. Better get experience then get the quals. It is good to have a plan but don't be afraid to change it if something isn't going write.
  2. Keep hold of the money for as long as you can as it will disappear quickly. And to add my vote of being a subbie for a few companys and bulid a contact list. And see what set up works and what kind if work you want. Go to the trade shows and speak to the dealers and manufacturers. And see the kit in real life with the people you work for And go from there
  3. Thoughts and condolences to his family.
  4. the husqvarna sg13 is not massively differenet from any other 13 hp pedestrian stump grinder. if you want more than 13 hp then the choices get interesting. also try the large equipment section of the forum the topic has been discussed before so you can read up on lots of opnions too. lastly there are a few dealers and sppliers of machinery on here a quick pm may get the ball rolling. p.s. welcome to arbtalk:thumbup:
  5. the thing i would do slighty differenet is where you have the wire coming between the ear muff and the user i would put that behind the ear muff with a small hole in the outer casing of the ear defender but thats because i have a skin problem and the wire would irritate it.
  6. ok cool i just dont want to always hear my groundie muttering or swearing at the chipper
  7. What brand and model number are they do they work on vox or ptt? I like the idea just looking at the details. A mate if mine put a small iPod thingy in his helmet with speakers in the ears.
  8. someone has a lot of spare time on their hands imagine having to work out all the niggles and each part to perfectly coincide with the other.
  9. Low and slow. The idea of a rec climb sounds good. it will take time to bulid your confidence back up. as others have said take smaller pieces. Its better to finish late rather than have a repeat. I knew a climber who pulled his arm out of his socket and he re covered to being at 95% of the level of climber he was before but you will always be more cautious. sorry for the bullet point nature of the post im not great at putting all that info in to a nice readable paragraph
  10. thank you delabodge. ive had my own business 16 months now and looking forward to the future.
  11. I would like to have some work booked in ahead of me. Able to provide for my family. Just wife atm but we both want kids in the future. Have good kit and a good crew. And have a motorbike for my days off. And congrats Ty on the forthcoming baby.
  12. hi guys and gals of arbtalk I have 2 jobs on the 30th of april and will need another pair of hands. *jobs in and around bury st edmunds suffolk IP33* Its nothing much no experience of chainsaw or tickets nessacary. But you must have your own lid with visor and ear defenders and decent pair of work trousers and steel toe cap boots. good work ethic. and as soon as the jobs are done properly we can finish. please contact me with a pm tell me a bit about yourself and experience and day rate please. THANK YOU.
  13. unless you pay top wack and get the top slot or maybey one of the top 3 then forget it. my experience yell.com customer for 2 years and wont be making it 3 unless something changes massively
  14. Have had a lot of good stories and on felix's point. I've had it 2 times 1st I was paid by cheque took it in to the bank and it cleared immediately as he was with same bank. And 2nd i did a job left the invoice and was paid in to my account befoe i got home and it was only 20mins drive away
  15. yep I use one line is marlow 10 0z and 12 0z single hand to my right like the big shot but dont have the cash or enough of a reason to justify it. tie a loop with a fig of 8 in the end of the line and larks foot it to the metal ring on the throwline not bad but not great well 2 bags 1 cube and 50m of line seems to be enough for me. if you have a rope with a spliced eye then a throw weight and a krab are a useful addition to help you ALT technique your way up a tree if there are big gaps.
  16. I've had outdoor climbing karabiners from DMM and use them almost exclusively on my kit. Speak to them and they will sort it very quickly.
  17. I think that the human body and brain compensate when it cant hear the other senses get better. So if its not as good for spelling then it puts those resources to use elsewhere. I work for lots of companies and have met dislexic people all over but another person I knew was a dispraxic *hand eye coordination outdoor pursuits instructor
  18. The art and science of practical rigging will be a good book for your collection or to start your collection.
  19. Wishing you both all the best and hoping for good news.
  20. I don't use one in srt but I have a petal pantain. V good and yes would buy again. I sue mine with a hitchclimber and vt setup if I have to go up with no branches around me.
  21. Im no where near good enough to compete so will just be watching the pros at work.
