  1. im planning on being there what day is best? as ill only be able to come on one
  2. Cheers for the advice jltree. Yorkshire brummie I am not able to buy a truck right now so thank you but im out but maybey Normandy lumberjack could be interested as he had said he was looking for something similar to what im looking for. So far my conclusions are Mazda ford or toyota
  3. What is the inside of a Mazda like. I wouldn't want it to be Spartan and uncomfortable but too many toys means mire things to go wrong. And is it comfortable? How does it handle long runs. Im not intending on running from mine to Scotland but I like to know it can do it with out crippleing me.
  4. I want it for business. And to be a jack of all trades. it won't be towing everyday. But it needs the guts to be able to tow. I want a double cab to have space for other people or kit. I helped a mate get his Isuzu out of a pickle and it had electronic diff locks rather than mechanical. should I go for something older with less miles or newer with same miles??
  5. does the hilux have proper diff locks or is it electronically controlled. i have seen this not sure of the colour scheme http://www.jdgcars.co.uk/used-cars/toyota-hilux-horden-peterlee-201312070388266
  6. Will do uncle dean. Thank you again and I'll get some pics up once we've got the first stumps out of the way.
  7. Unfortunately dean im working for someone else today so won't get the chance to see you. And I'll get the website amended once I have some photos of the beast at work as we have got some stumps lined up for it.
  8. I would do but dean is delivering a hb20 to me. So won't be needing to see a demo
  9. Hello all Im planning on getting myself a double cab pickup I will have no more than £6000 to spend. What do people recommend? Answers on the back of a postcard please
  10. pros: you set your own days on and off. you are your own boss *which i like the feeling of. I find it more relaxing than working full time. cons: you have the worries of a boss eg finding enough work, holidays, sickpay, funding your development *kit machinery training courses and then replacing or re training or upgrade of training. its not for everyone but it was the best move I ever made. good luck to you whatever you choose.
  11. I think Beal do a rope brush *looks like a spring with very stiff bristles. Which i find good to get the dirt out from the sheath of the rope.
  12. hi horatio yeah i know the 13 hp they will hire with out an operator. but the guy im working with wont have one but its all sorted now anyway. thank you to all who helped
  13. Hi Andy last time I spoke to chippertech they had a 13hp or a big grinder but only with operator and it was expensive.
  14. Hi Horatio there are not many places that hire stumpgrinders in suffolk/norfolk area and the cost of getting to a decent one in fuel and time means we wouldn't break even on the day unless we charge a high rate which will mean we won't get the work.
  15. Hi johnny the places around us are expensive to hire from and don't have any decent local ones. Hi tree frog I've seen that and spoken to the person about it. But thats a start price.
  16. Hi all first off slow down everyone. Lets keep this to a debate. Ty I want so much a hb20 but I can't afford it. Unless U want to give me yours for 2-3k ;-) p.s. I know that won't happen. Hi John I would prefer a 20+ hp as I've used 13 hp machines *husky and rayco and didn't find them much good so really want a bigger machine. Tbh we are looking for a machine that will earn its money back. And we are not bad with spammers and a grease gun.
  17. hello all i am looking for a stumpgrinder pedestrian 20hp+ 2nd hand £2-3k. is the budget if anyone knows of anything let me know. cheers
  18. 1 tow bar and trailer good idea as you know your own car and any niggles it may have rather than buying a second hand one that you dont know what could go wrong. 2. cant answer that one i dont own a log splitter. 3.keep the snali for now as its already paid for its self i guess. once you have the funds a new chainsaw would be v good what size of cord are you cutting ive been using a husky 550 *on a 15" bar* which is light for the size and very good in my opnion. 4. fleabay is a good place. I would say the same as others stay in your own space and be as efficent as possible with it. good luck. hope it goes well
  19. cheers we have the same model but are currently in the process of getting more photos. we always say on the way to the job "we must get photos" we get there and just get the work done then remember
  20. here is mine. comments welcome Clarke Garden and Tree Services
  21. I' ve got one and it does what I want it to do and is a good machine in my opnion but as other people had hinted at its what's best for your setup
