  2. i could g for a pick up for a while and when i get too many big jobs ill sell the pick up get something for it and use that to help get the transit or just go the whole hog?

  5. hello all arb talkers. I would like some advice i have recently set up my business i am self employed and currently subbie for a few firms and do my own work *when it comes in. I am hoping that my own work will increase and become my main source of income. I have a climbing kit and a top handle and small ground saw. full ppe I would like some advice on what to aquire next i.e. tipper and chipper etc etc I dont have much money to play with for this and i would prefer massively to save hard and then buy out right or a v good finance deal. I have considered a small van and small chipper *gravity fed one for example. to use this for a while then when i make money out of it sell it on for a bigger chipper and van. what are your thoughts experiences advice. i want to hear it all. so its over to you.

  8. Every body gets it at some point. You are in 1 piece at the end of the day that's a win and the job still was completed even bigger win. I believe that when you get a wobbly like some one said its intuition/6th sense.

  10. i like the idea of them although havent had the chance to try them for myself but something someone else said they used it for was with a newbie having a headset with no microphone and you can speak to them while they had the ear defenders on. again ive never tried them but the idea seemed like a good one

  15. hi Horatio I know how I price but I got some advice from people and it confirms what I was doing but my final numbers need a slight tweek. And my reasons for starting a business are my own.

  17. Ok guys can you dispense some advice to a self employed person starting out I'm in Suffolk for the regional variation. But I honestly don't know what to charge I've worked out a rate which I think is reasonable and provides me with enough. how do you work it out? I'm asking because I want to be in the arb business for a long time. So im all ears if people prefer to pm please do. Thanking you in advance Ian C
  18. he will get a call in the morning from those recomendations and thank you to all that pmd me. the "keep it in house" theory came around from a post on the employment forum where a guy was offering a man 7.5t and chipper i think 260 a day and everyone was like woooah thats too cheap and he said yeah but its TRADE price. and "do a good turn everyday" lets see if anybody recognises that last line

  23. I use sip progress and find them very good. I used to have hi flex but they ripped too easily
